What Makes 1909 S VDB Stand Out
1909 S VDB is a penny collection game where the object is to collect all 305 Lincoln pennies in circulation from 1909 to 2020. The odds of getting a particular penny are based on how old the penny is, where the penny was minted, and the quantity produced.
When I was a kid, my mom would take me to the bank to buy rolls of pennies so that I could sift through them looking for rare pennies. I would get 20 rolls at a time, hoping to find new pennies to add to my collection.
This game is the result of me wanting to relive that experience and hopefully let others experience the joy of coin collecting. I added a few mini games involving pennies where you can try to earn a few more penny rolls if you run out.

We really enjoy this game. We have always wished we could play a coin roll hunting simulator because as we have gotten older, real coin roll hunting has become a bit dull. We love the little minigames but we feel like wheaties are way too common. Of course the reason wheat pennies are so rare even though their mintages are just as big is because of all the people collecting them, so if we had a box of pennies that had 10 wheaties a roll Id be in heaven, but of course because this is a simulation, it makes finding the wheaties not as exciting. Normally Id be fine with that because Id focus on trying to find the ultra rare key dates, however a few days ago we found TWO 1931-Ss and a 1924-D in the same roll. Id only opened around 15 total rolls too. Because of this it feels a bit more tedious than fun Maybe if there is a way to add rarity multipliers on the back end for wheat pennies and key dates, that would shake things up. And of course since this is just a casual thing, if other people prefer the current spawn rates, there could be different difficulties all just our opinion of course. We identify so much with the story and we appreciate you for making this game, just our two cents.
Great game, and we love the personal story in the description! What more can you want out of the medium of games than to share a human experience and add it to our collective conscious? We would suggest moving the coin to the right a little from your touch point so we could look at it while dragging into collection, and a pop up text letting us know if its new, and a ! Next to new ones we havent viewed in our collection, and what if there was a wishing well event where you could toss coins in the well.
This is a fun game, but we think that there are too many wheat pennies in the game. Other than that we think this game is very fun, but please add some ocasional Indian head pennies. Well thats all, The developer fixed the issue there was so thank you for that. You can not find a game like this anywhere else on the App Store.
Our family use to collect pennies when we were a kid now our brother and we can see who gets them again. We enjoy this. We really enjoy this app. Im still playing with our brother. Ive had problems since the last update… We were at 303, he was at 302 we did the update and the game was gone. We reloaded it and started again (we had 246). The next day we went to play and we had no pennies and only 5 rolls. We grumble and played them. The next day after playing we had 89 pennies. PLEASE PLEASE HELP. Can you fix this so we can take it back up to 5 stars. Thank You. We got the latest update and now we can only see half the screen… Somethings still not working right. Help. Thank you 11-23-20 Its still not working right and we still have only a half screen. We took a picture of it and tried to put it here so you could see it and the app would not let us. Please Help. Thank you.
