We updated ios26 and we feel frame drop in ctw app. Resolve the problem plz.
The bad reviews are definitely from people that dont realize you can use a controller on your Mac for most of these iPad games haha.
Pretty much how we remember the ds version, just without buttons.
Our safe file was deleted after removing that app , we have a backup of course and even restored purchases.
This game is $5 play through a few hours of the story to unlock the map and weapons, then go have fun dealing drugs and discovering the insane map. Driving in this game is like no other. Incredibly fun and easy to learn with opportunities for skillful tricks saving tons of time. Whats most unique is that you can crash into cop cars to get them to stop chasing you! Ie if you have 3 wanted level, you can crash 3 cop cars to get down to a 2 position, then 2 to get down to 1*, then 1 to eliminate the threat. The player doesnt need to just hide or paynspray. Overall, extremely underrated title and likely some of the most fun Ive had on our iPad.
We were a fan of GTA franchise in our childhood, playing GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas. And we havent touched GTA games for so many years. But this time, Chinatown wars gives us a great game experience. Chinatown wars is relatively lightweight and simple comparing with the main entries in the franchise, without advanced graphics, gameplay and animations. However, as a 2.5D and nostalgic game, it delivers a fantastic story and unique gameplay based on touching control, which is very suitable for mobile devices. And the Chinese American culture in the game is also interesting and unique in the franchise. In conclusion, if other 3D or HD games in GTA franchise are like big feast with steaks, turkeys, and other greasy foods, then Chinatown wars is like a plate of salad. Its not that delicious, but is healthy and still nice.

This is a very good game. Ive played gta V and the graphics are great and so is ctw. Definitely recommend this game.

This isnt a review but im wondering how to buy the full version because we cant find it anywhere.
The game is so sweet but the graphics is not nice you have to improve on that.
Im on the latest MacBook Pro and it works. Even with controller. Just no in game settings to adjust resolution/graphics/controls etc. It actually is better on an iPhone though. It works but like we said not great. We feel like there are better ways to play this if you were thinking about it solely for Mac. We already had it on iPhone years ago just was playing again , this should only be bought on a good sale. Dont pay full price.
Its not a bad game at all back in 2024 the latest update thats came out where it broke controller support and doesnt remove mobile controls when using controller also you cant perform the following actions Cant use Throwables Cant do a flying kick Cant do open weapon inventory unless its meant to be like this we think you need to fix it.
… Couldn't even figure how to move until we touched the bottom left corner. No controls overlay seen in our iPhone 12 mini (iOS v18.3.2 with zoomed display). Also 30 minutes free only.
Unfortunately you cant control the MC with the left joystick.
It tells you that you can make a playlist in your iTunes but when you go to Independence FM nothing happens. Fix that! If you prefer to play on a ps4 or Xbox controller you cant do a flying kick. Its not mapped on the controller. You cant open dumpsters or unscrew cars. Too many things require you to touch the screen when it wasnt even a touch screen game ti begin with. Otherwise its fine.
Kick button and analog controls do not work with a controller. Otherwise great game. Will update review when issues are fixed.
Title says it all. 5 minutes in and Im watching some intro, with crew credits. No way to skip. Have not played the game yet when we promptly force closed the app.
This game is fun and all, until you try to do any of the challenges that involve combat. Good luck with the gun club, especially. Combat is a complete disaster, theres no aiming, youre lucky if you can actually shoot the target you need to. You go to shoot someone in front of you, and your guy either locks on to someone in the complete opposite direction, or your bullets just phase through the target because youre too close. We get its an aged handheld game, but youd think there would be a better lock on system for the touch screen.
Used play this so much when it first came out now Im back playing it everyday.

Chinatown Wars is an underrated masterpiece, its great like all the other gta games.
Decoded the bits and this is an expensive game that is multi, a gta 2.
In our strong opinion, this has to be one of the best grand theft auto games the innovation that they had in this game was so ahead of its time not only did they go back to the original roots of the above Skyview play style, but they have so much stuff that they never had in this one that other grand theft auto series did not have the simple fact that they added mini games with different variants on how to steal vehicles is insane, especially for a game that was intended for handheld devices. You have the ability in this game to traffic drugs, and find weaponry inside of dumpsters like huh???? Us personally, we are a big fan of this game specifically just due to the nostalgia. It gives us as a kid from when we first played it on Nintendo DS. We hope whoever is reading this who is considering getting this and that has never tried this game before give it a shot. It may be out of your comfort zone, but once you get used to the controls and understanding the game itself, we guarantee you will enjoy and love this game as much as we have throughout the years of having it this is our second time buying it for our iPhone unfortunately, our other iPhone had broke so we had to buy another copy of the game which its only five dollars. Could you imagine that a striking deal its worth the five dollars storyline we still havent beaten the game till this day but this time Im gonna give it a shot, thank you very much to everyone at rockstar who had something to do with this game in specifics and we hope you guys know that you guys did an amazing job.

The game story has more potential, its graphics and gameplay can and should be reinvigorated and reinvented for future use. Its a great game lots of room for new ideas and stories. Works well but has absolutely no sound. No music or sound effects, which makes the game feel dead. Hope theres an update for this to fix it.

If you play with a controller you wont be able to move with the analog stick any more. Just the d-pad. Very annoying, please fix.

The game is super, well, we would like to play it forever, we cant afford to buy something, if you make it for free, we will be grateful to you, thank you in advance.
This game holds up extremely well since its 2009 release. As far as story goes, it is good; well written, distinguishable characters, progression is a bit slow compared to other mobile game but we wont knock it because we like a story that takes time to build and has a lot of variables floating up in the air. Just wanted to mention that for anyone looking for a quick fix. In our experience this game is decent at first then becomes good and is borderline great at the current moment. We have a lot of respect for the quality of the content. The map feels enormous for a mobile game (maybe Im just old lol) and it is packed with extras. Also, Pro-Tip for just the old souls, if you enjoy the aesthetic of black and white movies then play this in black and white! It looks so good. (If you dont know then do this: go to your accessibility settings and after going into that scroll down until you see the use color filters option. Select that and change your display to Black and White cause this game KICKSASS in that aesthetic. ) Might be a classic man we really like but havent finished it yet so cant speak on it but felt obliged to leave a review because Im having such a good time on it. There are some bugs and glitches tho. Occasionally the game will crash and one time we got into a car that we had stolen previously but was in the games mind ours now and we got busted and had hella dope on us.
We have gotten the game a few hours ago. Im playing the missions and Im supposed to use Molotov to blow up cars but cant switch to them to do so we love this game and will continue playing this game until they update it.

We still remember when it came out on ds and it was a huge deal.Crazy,still going back for the nostalgia but now on the phone.
This game still holds up with a lot of the top mobiles we think out there. We loving replaying Chinatown wars every couple years and every time Ive played, we have discovered something new. The gameplay mechanics are unique and amazing.

The game is really fun a have had no bugs with it or anything if you are interested in downloading just do it 5Stars.
We played this game our favorite character so far was ling then when we got to under the gun ling got killed by a gang member and she was our favorite character we wish rockstar can somehow say that she survived and we are putting a five star because the game is the best game we ever played and Rockstar, could you please say she survived.
