Ive downloaded our app again and still having issues. Bugs. Its delayed to respond. Our screen freezes, kicks us off the game. After round the screen stays dark we have to start clicking all around. Just issues . We have an iPhone.
We have played this game for over ten years. We loved it. Played on the computer, mobile version, everything. Its been a couple months since we played and we came on the app to try and find a certain game, only to realize now you have to pay to do anything except the specific ones it gives you. Before, you could choose what maps, locations, how many rounds, and all sorts of stuff, and you only had to pay to get special features. Now, if you want any sort of freedom, you have no choice to get Pro. Its getting exhausting that so many apps nowadays are requiring you to pay to do anything past the most simple stuff, when its been free for years. Im disappointed that we cant play our favorite game the same way anymore.
They dont provide a way to mute their annoying music.
Queue time>play time. Not ok for a paid app. Its not a user base issue either, its just matchmaking systems that are intended to make you play more, but effectively mean you can never play unless youre willing to wait in the app without switching screens until it gets you a match. Ten minutes queueing is very common and you cant use your other apps while queuing or it will stop matchmaking.
The idea behind the game is fantastic. Dropped somewhere in the world, have to look around and determine where you are from clues? Im into it, all day long. But when there are literally no visible clues in a level, as is often the case with the rural levels its pointless. A dirt road in India looks basically the same as a dirt road in Argentina. Between that and the fact that far too many of the games features are now locked behind a paywall we cant give it five stars no matter how good the concept is. Im willing to pay for extra features in a good game, but you have to give us enough to get us to that willingness.
Yes this app WAS great. Many different modes, the UI was polished and the locations were good. The developers have decided to lock almost all of the features behind a paywall. The one mode that is available constantly gives us the same locations over and over. Yes making an application takes many hours and resources to maintain but blocking reasonable access unless you pay is not the way to do it.
Please, there is seriously no reason to force people to buy a monthly or yearly subscription for a mobile game. Almost all of the features on this app require a subscription. Just make it a one time purchase.
Fun game but having to pay for the bullsh** is crazy ik its only $2.99 but still its a mobile game cant even play the classic mode so new players can get a feel of the game not instantly go into player vs player with someone that already knows how to play and knows what theyre doing if the classic mode was free it would be 5 stars.
The free mode is very, very dumb. Multiple levels have the name of the place in their street view. This is not by chance because the free mode is highly curated unlike the normal way to play the game. The normal game mode (the one were all used to) is only on the paid version. And why incentivize the paid version so much? Its a simple game, like a flash game, but youre hoping to make a small profit by shutting everyone out.
Really great game ngl. Its a really great app to keep you mind off of things. Definitely recommend playing.
It is unplayable every round you have to refresh the game for every player because the game frozen on the round summary screen.
Too many desyncs when playing with a party.
Great game until we got to about level 200. Game will still work but loads slowly and cannot track what you did wrong. Really enjoyed the game but now it is basically useless. Deleting due to these issues.
While playing multiplayer and in a party the app freezes up and we have to close the app to reset it to go to the next level. The app also crashes.
We love GeoGuessr, it makes learning geography fun. And Ive gotten so much better at Geography after playing GeoGuessr.
The game is good, but there are times when im correct about the location and it tells us its somewhere else. We just played a level where all clues pointed to zurich, & it tells us the location was in russia.
Its a good trivia game, but to most people its hardly worth buying pro. Honestly just gonna delete this and play on google maps with friends. Not hard to put a few sticky notes on a computer screen to block the Google Maps location. And we can pick the spots we want our friends to guess instead of random nonsense. Again, this isnt worth buying pro for most people.
Idk if it's due to an update, but every time we open the app & press play, the app immediately crashes and closes.
Since last update the app just keeps crashing if they dint fix it we will just delete it.
We have really been enjoying geo guesser so far! Only thing is, on famous places mode sometimes it will drop us in some random ghetto in new delhi or an undistinguised side street in Paris. Which is fine, but if its on 'no move' then you're kind of screwed. Also seems as if the placement algorithm isn't working right. We seem to get placed in India like 1 every 4 times.
After the newest update, the app crashes every time a game is played. Unusable at the moment.
Lost rating multiple times to the mobile UI. We were in game but shows Im still in queue.
Whenever we finish a game it just gets stuck on the avatar screen. On iPhone.
Its fun to beat our boyfriend in world locations :).
We like it the only problem we have with it is that you have to wait until your tickets refill.
We love this game, so fun and a perfect concept. It would be an easy 5 star if it werent for one gigantic issue. We got to Level 48, and around then we decided to pay for a month of the premium subscription (mobile only) as soon as we bought it, we could no longer play levels we click on Lets Go and it loads for a couple of seconds before crashing and closing us out of the game. Everything else works fine, but it kinda feels like a waste of a couple of dollars to pay for the game only for it to lose a big chunk of gameplay immediately.
Sometimes coins go backwards. We were at 2,000 coins, got an award for extra tickets that didnt pan out and we lost 150 coins.
It puts us in portland oregon every time.
Ive had this game for years and its always been our favorite. Up until recently, you could play the classic game without needing to buy the pro. You were given a couple of lives every day. Now, you cant play the classic mode without buying the pro version. They took away the best part of the game from those of us who like to play it just to make a buck.
Very buggy when trying to set up game with other people, fun though.
Way too overpriced for what it does. An app like this should ad least have an ad supported free version for multiplayer. If you arent a daily geoguesser something like openguesser works better.
Such a fun game and great to play with friends or solo. Really good way to pass time and use critical thinking skills.
Love the game! Only issue we have is when pinch to zoom gets stuck on iOS version.
Its fun, but if you want to play against other people, its not worth it. Instead of a one-time purchase its based on a monthly or yearly subscription. We get the dev wants to make their money, but a one-time purchase would have sold us on the app. We cant justify a subscription. If it changes to a one-time then we might change our mind. But for now, its a turn off.
This app is portrayed as a geo guessing game. So why am we rewarded by a cartoon character giving us coins to build the Parthenon? The Parthenon is still there. Were not building another one. Deleted within 4 minutes.
So Im paying and we still dont have unlimited access? Like Im subscribed but theres still the ticket thing that stops us from playing! If we pay we should be able to play whenever we want!? Seriously why do you have to be so money hungry its annoying . Im probably gonna unsubscribe eventually.
Is a good game. But it would of being better if atlease you can multiple player for free. Why do we need to pay extra to play with a friend.
All game modes we used to play for free have been locked behind a paywall. You dont even get daily free games anymore. If we were to GeoGuess, they are gonna paywall even more soon.
We dont like the ticket system, the yearly subscription was expensive and we still have to wait for our tickets to reset once we use them all.

We really enjoy this game – its enjoyable but the fact that you have to pay for everything is annoying.
No matter the mode we play the screen is always black. We uninstalled and reinstalled but that didnt fix it. How can we fix this issue.
Ive been getting a black screen when the round starts then Ill get an error message also we have UNLIMITED PRO and yet our games are limited, and have to wait to get tickets. Why scam people? When they pay you yearly; when an educational game like this should be free.
Loved the game itself. Enjoyed it. Smooth play. Fun to travel to world. Only issues is Im on level 110, Ive been unable to play for weeks. We start and it just shuts the game off. We thought the updates would help this bugs. Its hasnt. Very frustrating.
A lot of the things that you would want from this game are PVP. After playing for a little while (like a week or 2), single player gets extremely boring. Youd have to pay for a subscription just to play more than 1 PVP match for the day. Today was actually the first time we went back to playing this game after several weeks, and we tried to set up a duel and it automatically said we ran out of free games for today, but we literally havent played a single game at all. Pretty douchy, especially since its trying to push us into paying for a subscription.
This app is so saturated with different coins, events, and gimmicks. All these extras just bog down the app. Our last win screen had 5 different rewards. The core game is so simple and fun; stop adding more.
Does not include Palestinian flag but recognizes some stupid colonizing settlement. Do better.
We used to play this all the time. Now it just crashes when we try to load, so its unusable Also, we agree that the reward system is getting complex (Im not actually sure what keys do ). That said, we do enjoy getting extra play time when Im on a streak. We hope things get back to basics.
Generally a fun game, but still pretty glitchy despite updates. For instance, youll sometimes spend coins to re-roll the map and end up with the same thing as before (e.g. It gives you rural, you re-roll and it gives capitals, and then puts you in the middle of farmland). Also, some of the geography isnt accurate – lost a longer country streak because it said part of Hong Kong was mainland China. Maybe theyre trying to spark an international incident.
