Awesome point and click adventure! Had fun while also learning a bit about the voodoo culture. Animation/graphics are nice. Also, loveee the fact that you can have multiple outcomes to the game! 2 thumbs up Dev.
Starts off a bit slow, then all of a sudden, you're locked into a compelling storylines with twists and turns. It's a choose your own adventure game, and we enjoyed the alternive stories. Fun.
We were expecting more out of a $15 game. We thought it would be puzzles but its mostly just dialogue with characters and very little piecing things together. Also, we hate to say it, but there are definite racial undertones in this game. The Voodoo Detective HATES the tourists (who are all white) and he loves the locals (who are black). We mean, we kinda get that. But then theres also the actual white characters have either been the annoying white stereotype of overly smiley and dumb or theyre totally unlikable and rude for no reason. Tho we will say there have been a couple other white characters that seem ok.
Great game! Lots of funa bit on the shorter side, but still very worthy of 5 stars if you like a nice old fashioned point n click mystery.

It took a minute or two to figure out a few things in this game, but once we did, it was a lot of fun. We're going to try it again with the different settings you can choose for the detective. Now that we know the basics, we know we'll enjoy the subtle nuances and get even more enjoyment out of it.

One of the best adventure games Ive ever played. And we play a lot of adventure games. It looks like a 90s Don Bluth animated film, the puzzles are logical, not easy, but logical once you get into the culture of New Ginen and the Voodoo Detective. You know an adventure game is good when you finish and say that should be a movie or a streaming series or something. This is that kind of game.
Adventure game, check. Fun game, check. Offbeat humor, check. Great backgrounds, check. Perfect music per scene, yep. Superb voiceovers, you get the gist. Sometimes tricky, sometimes really clever, sometimes just really cute. Talk about traversing and cursing. This is something Dr. John and Gregg Rolie would enjoy (sorry, youll have to do some research there.).
One of the best point and click adventure games we have ever played and we played a ton of them. This it Lucas Arts quality all over it. The writing is great, the voice acting is top-notch, the characters were very likable, it was clever and funny. The items you use made sense and Grammies book was a great way to assist without giving you the answers. Please make another like this, or a sequel! This was great.
We love the Blackwell games and other point and click detective games with a touch of supernatural. Absolutely loved this one.
Reminds us a lot of the Broken Sword adventure series. Although it felt a bit pricey, it was well worth the money since we take our time with these point-and-click adventures and due to the art and music. We hope to see more games from this developer.
We're a huge fan of point and clock adventure games and this game did not disappoint. This game is full of beautiful art work , humor , action and fun logical puzzles.
We love a good point and click. Carmen San Diego type vibes. This was super fun but no way of getting through it without a little help. Just some things were way too far fetched if you will. No way we wouldve thought to do certain things. Fun game still.
Awesome game we love the story and the hand drawn graphics but for the price it should have been way longer, Ive played free games that have been longer than this.
We had our eye on this game for a while but wasnt sure if we wanted to spend $15 on a mobile game. The other reviews convinced us. This isnt a game where there are puzzles to solve, most of the gameplay is in the interactions you have with characters. The dialogue and wordplay is funny but we wished there was just more to the game. Other than the scene in the underworld and the final battle.. It just seemed way too easy. We guess if youre looking for a casual chill game, thats fine but we were hoping for something a bit more challenging and possibly longer too. It felt pretty short to us.
The story was mediocre. The puzzles were too hard & too easy. Overall not worth the $.
Ive never spent so much on an iOS game, but it far surpassed our expectations and was absolutely worth the price. It was a beautifully challenging game and had so many different layers! Just when we thought the game was over, a new scene with its own new challenges popped up.
Every detective trope plus voodoo magic who could ask for more.

There are so, so few reviews on this game, so we thought we'd write one. We really enjoy point and click mystery games and this one is well made and we enjoyed playing it. The story was interesting, animation is very pretty, the dialogue and characters are fun, the use of spells is unique, and overall it was a good experience. We hope they come out with more games like this, we really liked it.
For $13, this is a really boring game. We would not recommend this in any capacity.
This is more than Ive ever spent on a phone game, and we were skeptical. It ended up being EXACTLY the type of game we wanted. It filled the hole left by the point and click adventure games of the 90s (Monkey Island, Kings Quest, various LucasArts adventures). Really well thought out game with great art and playability. We cannot wait for another from this studio, so lets keep the pressure on.

But IMO too short for the amount of money.. Graphics were great, voice acting good, game ran smoothly, & it was original so we're not sorry we bought it. We just think it could have been a little cheaper for a 2 hour game, we've have point & click games that lasted 5 hours & Cost 5$ but we know the price of everything id going up, anyway still a good game, hope to see more from these developers.
This game was well thought out with funny and quirky characters. We had no issues with gameplay at all on iphone 11. Very nicely animated – great and different story and challenging enough puzzles that keep you interested.
We love these types of point and click games and was excited to play this one. Beautiful art and well thought out characters. Good dialogue and hard but not impossible puzzles. It is very short though for the money, like we would expect 2/3 more game to be equivalent to other games in its price range. We dont want to give it a bad rating for that but everyone should know what they are getting when buying.
Any fans of old school Lucasfilm games will love this game. Fantastic animation, music, characters and voice acting with silly humor make this game one of the best point and click adventure games in a while. The game is a bit short, but we will definitely looking forward to the next case for Voodoo Detective.
Freezes on startup. Im just looking at a telephone and a smudge stick in an ashtray for 15 minutes. We keep tapping on the screen or slide a finger or 2 across with hopes that something will happen. We tried reloading and starting a new game with the same results.
