It’s rated 4+ and currently has 2,388+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Cat Game (Classic) Stand Out

It seems like everyone and their cat now owns an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. But what does the cat do with it?

Cat Game is the classic video game for cats, based upon the "catch the laser dot" game that cats have enjoyed for ages. Present the game to the cat. Not all cats want to play, so respect the cat. Take care so that neither cat nor device are injured during play.

Features:

  • The classic video game for cats since 2009.
  • Humans can play, too! Try to score over 21!

Tips for human players:

  • "I tapped it but it didn't give me the point!"

It moved out of the way at the last instant! Look carefully to observe the effect. Like swatting flies, your reflexes are usually not fast enough to go directly at it. Anticipate where it's going to stop and tap there!

  • Cat Game is NOT multi-touch!

Only one finger can tap the screen at any time. More than one finger on the screen at a time means that NO TAPS will register. Holding your finger to the screen doesn't count — only taps count. You can drum with multiple fingers as long as only one finger is touching the screen at any time.

  • Don't tap many times in one place, hoping to easily catch the dot when it comes to your area.

Every time you tap, you're telling Cat Game where your finger is!

  • Be the cat.

Let go of consciously controlling your finger. Get into the zone where hand-eye coordination is driven by instinctive reactions.

  • Let your cat watch you play.

He or she could use a good laugh… "It's not as easy as it looks, eh?"

  • Enjoy!

This Entertainment game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

Works amazing. Just have a screen protector on so your kitty doesnt hurt your screen.

Downloaded twice with same result: app craps as it opens, and doesn't work at all.

Our cat and we both like your game. We got a notice saying the developer needs to update it or it won't work properly. We hope you do this for the many cats and people who enjoy your game. Thanks.

She plays with this app, and when it disappears and goes to the bottom or side she goes behind the phone and looks for it.

Our cat loves it! She sometimes thinks it under the phone but the game is perfect! We live expanding her knowledge and letting her experience new things and this is perfect.

Our cat cuddles just dove into the game as soon as we set it up. She even tried to bite our iPod.she loves it too. She even purred up a storm.she also said thanks for making this game.

We give it a five star because our kitten the first time we showed it to her looked underneath the phone whatever the dot disappeared off the screen it was so funny we mean LOL you must get this game it is a must get this game.

Our dog LOVES this game. She will play it for hours. We recommend a very strong screen protector though or they'll scratch it to death.

We had to point out the laser dot first time, but once we did he totally gets it! It's now his very expensive cat toy! Thanks for creating this, so much fun! :).

Our kittens love this app especially Lion.

Thank you humans, we much enjoy this app! We are glad you like your cats to be happy. Thank you for your time.

This is the only game our cat loves to play. It's a great game. Just because your cat doesn't play it doesn't mean it's bad.

We've never written a review before, even when we liked the app. Felt we really had to give a thumbs up for this one. Our super energetic teenage rescue kitten, Kosmo Kaos, drives us to distraction sometimes. When he's awake, we MUST PLAY. The Dot is his favorite. This game was an instant hit! It also made the Otter Box purchase worthwhile since our phone now gets chewed on and batted around. When we need a few minutes peace, this is where we're gonna go. P.s., enjoyed the bobcat photos and the story behind the app.

Use the black backround while your in the dark with the lights off and you'll most likely get the cat to notice! It was awesome with ours, she was pushin our iPod around and trying to get the laser:) can't wait to get it on our ipad with a bigger screen.

It's fun for our cat AND us! She loves pawing at the laser and we love it too! It you have a cat we highly recommend this app! It doesn't hurt to try.

We noticed when our cat started to get bored, the laser started moving around even more to keep her interested! She tries to catch it but also enjoys simply staring at it. Great design. Five stars!! :D.

Dont get upset and give this game a bad rating just because your cat isnt interested the first time you introduce the game to him/her!!!! It takes a couple tries heres what you do: 1. Introduce game 2. If your cat walks away try again later 3. If cat is still not interested constantly put the phone close to cat 4. If it gets the cat's attention his/her eyes will follow the red dot as it moves around 5. Put the black background color and the cat will be even more interested and might start batting it but then again might not 6. Keep doing this for at least two days and if your cat is STILL not interested it simply is not interested in the game. ( ps. The only thing that might happen is your cats eyes and head following the laser across the screen but the cat is still having fun doing that. We got our cat to flip and wrestle our phone across the floor! LOL.

This is the first time our cat (who can be extremely picky) actually responded and interacted with something moving around on a screen, and kept her attention. Awesome app.

The only game for cats we've come across that our cat doesn't turn away from. We just hope she doesn't bat our we-Phone off the couch.

It's hard and challenging for us and we love it.

Our kitten lives this game!!! You should get this app if you have a kitten/cat!!!:):).

Our cat doesn't like the cat games much but was most interested in this one.

Our kitten loves this app as much as us. Hours of fun for the both of us.

Our two foster kittens love it sooooo much.

Just got this and so far so good. We have 2 cats and our oldest kitty (she's about 1-2 years) she was just like whatevea we'd rather be playing with a pencil and went back to licking herself but our baby (about 5 months) she just sits there and watches it and sometimes paws at it a little but when the dot goes off the screen she bugs out LOL!!! And when it goes off she'll paw at the direction it went off at SO CUTE!!!!!!! But if it goes off for too long she'll lose interest. Still trying to work on the older cat lol ;-P Update- our old cat has lost even more interest and our baby is still exploring it but she doesn't care about the dot she just wants to know more about our iPod :-( :-/ :-) lol she'll sniff our iPod and sometimes tap it and other stuff but other than that she just sits and watches :-/.

Our cat just looked at the screen and back at us as if to say "Seriously? Go find a real laser pointer." So we started playing it and it was actually really fun! Cat game AND human game! :).

Our cat loves chasing stuff but the game for her was like "it's for newbies we'll focus on crickets"then a day past she was feeling blue so we let her play the game… IT ENTERTAINS HER.

Our cats like this "game". They will just stare at the screen until the screen goes out. One of our cats actually tries to catch the dot. This app worked well when we had to distract our cat so we could cut a knot out of his fur.

Our cat was addicted to it, and so am we it is very hard though.

It entertains our 7 week old kitten for at least 10 mins. And for a baby kitten thats like 2 hours!! Any time she starts wanting to bite our hand, we divert her attention to this game.

We put our iPod on the ground and all three of our kittens went crazy. Cool app, Grates.

Its a really great, little, simple game that had effort put into it. Its really nice, our cat likes it, too! He paws at it and likes to stare at it. He doesn't get too into it like when we use an actual laser pointer, but how can you blame him? He's 12 years old ! We really like this game though, its…"wholesome" lol. We love the little slideshow, too! PS- we got 21 points on the timed one.

We annoyed our cousin with it :D :) :D :) :D we just tried it on our cat (babybop is her name but we call her bop) she was sleeping and we woke her she didn't care for it at first so we grabbed a fake orchid stem with the flowers still attached she would immediately attacked them but when we put our iPod back in front of her she pawed it once then licked her paw like it was on her paw it was hilarious :D we recommend it for everyone not just cats we think our dog is allergic to it because when we started playing it she started sneezing. By the way how do u get the symbols on here.

Our cat isn't much on toys – with one exception. She loves laser lights and she loves this free fun app.

Dont know what you people are talking about, our cat LOVES this app. We cant keep her from scratching and xniffing the screen.

We don't see why people rate low because their cat won't play with it. It's a novelty app your suppose to waste 10 min with.

Our 3 month old kitten plays with this all the time. It's adorable!!! For kittens, get this app.

We have seven outside cats. Two adults (one female one male) and five adorable kittens. We tried this on the female she didn't have intrest in it. We can't wait to try our other cats!! :) we found it very addictive though :D we can't put it down.

Our cat loves it Ps it is so funny watching our cat play with it lol.

She would play with it then after a couple minutes get bored (cats can only pay attention to one thing for so long) then get really excited and play with it. This goes on pretty much everyday, we'd buy this app even if it did cost money.

This game is fun and all but, why don't people just use a laser light :P lol.

One of our cats loves it, the other doesn't even pay attention. Totally depends on the cat.

Has the best time trying to figure it out. Keeps trying to look underneath to see where it went when it leaves the screen. And it's free.

We bought a flashlight with a laser on it at a dollar store and we just tie it securely to a rope that goes over a door and we swing it and our cat goes crazy.

Ok, we'll admit, our cat Bounder hasn't even taken one look at it, even though right now he's laying next to us and we're waving our iPod in front of his nose. But we haven't tried our other cats yet. And we love it! We understand now why cats love to chase things. It is so much fun! This game is purrrrrrrrrfect. Pun intended.

Our cat loves this app! She was sleeping, we woke up and she started playing half asleep, with the eyes almost closed! Awesome.

Our cat is not exactly crazy about it, But it's gr8 for humans! Good for long car rides.

We were skeptical but our cat actually got really interested in it and batted at our iPhone's screen several times. Didn't score any points but who cares? It's not like she knows it's a game.

This app is hilarious!!! Our cat stared to bite our itouch case and rub his paws on it!!! 2paws up.

Personally we really like this, it's simple yet challenging. We got to give props to whoever can get more than 15 in 30 seconds. We got 15 only once (we're still trying though) and it was barely. Our cat on the other hand could care less. He sniffed our iPod and walked away. That doesn't mean your cat will. Read some other reviews, they say there cats love it.
