Monorail is challenging and fun like sudoku, and entirely visual/spacial/geometric. There are no numbers or symbols. You solve puzzles by drawing rails to create a working monorail system.
The object of each puzzle is to create a single loop (closed path) of rails connecting all stations so the monorail can circle around endlessly.
Kindergartners can solve the beginner levels. Mathematicians from MIT have struggled to solve the most difficult ones.

You actually have to use some of your brain for these. :).
At first we thought we were doing silly dot-to-dots but we quickly realized that that this game was full of intriguing logic puzzles that require us to count connections and rule out what can go where. We bought the full version and we're glad we did. The more challenging levels are really fun. A great distraction from sudoku! Plus, we like that it's developed by a father/son team.
We bought the full version a while ago, completed it, and deleted the app. We have since re-downloaded it and am finishing it all over again. Great fun.

Each new puzzle offers clues through patterns and common solutions to seemingly different obsticals. Cool stuff.
Seemingly simple, monorail is oddly compelling. It can be a quick diversion during a wait, or an hour of fun on a rainy day.
Great app . Many puzzles can be very challenging. We play it every night. One of our favorite puzzle apps of all time.
Our twin brother LOOOVES logic puzzles. You know, the ones with the boxes, where you have to find out which of four friends in a coffee shop had both a black coffee and a bagel while wearing a green sweatsuit, but he gets bored easily, so we decided to buy him an app on our phone he could use when we were both out together, at appointments or whatever. The problem is, we won't put it down long enough to let him play it! We figured, "We'll just do the free version", and a day later, we'd bought the full! These puzzles are RIDICULOUSLY frustrating, but once you FINALLY find the right answer, you want to keep doing more. Probably our favorite thing about games like this and Temple Run is that you can put it down, but you're always willing to pick it back up. Wish we could give this ten stars.
