HOW TO PLAY SKAT
In the trick-taking game of Skat, a round consists of two phases: bidding and playing tricks. The bidding determines the declarer who is allowed to pick up the two remaining cards – the skat – and decides the conditions of trick-taking. This is followed by the actual trick-taking, in which you aim to win as many valuable cards as possible. When all cards have been played, evaluation ensues: If the declarer wins, they receive points resulting from the game value. For a lost game, however, double the game value is deducted.

Well, almost ;-). You can play much faster and gain more experience quickly than you could in real life. And you will meet some great players from places you may never get to. Love it.

The game is nice to look at and user friendly. Thats the reason we gave it 2 instead of 1 star. Having played close to 1,000 matches now, we wondered why some of the user names included German phrases like Cheater App. Now we know. As a paying customer you are hardly ever dealt hands that give you a chance to win. Card shuffling is definitely not random. Guess what happens when you run out of points? Correct, you have to purchase more. Frustrating to play.

We loved this app because it used to be ad free. Is there a way to remove ads by purchasing something except premium.
Please disregard reviews saying that the app gives better cards to people who pay. These are not smart people. But in order to play a game (with three or more rounds) you need coins, which you can buy. But when you bet two coins the game takes one from the table, so you can only win five. Then if you loose a round the game takes another one from you. So even the best players will have their coins disappear over time – even if you win half the time you will be losing coins. We would bet people would even buy more coins if it wasnt like this. Coins would have more value to players if they werent so ridiculously unfair.

Great app for the best card game ever.
Used to be a pretty good game but recently crashes all the time, and once you started a game you also lose your coins. Until you can fix this we will not give you a better rating. The way the game acts now it's pretty much worthless.

We have to echo other reviews here. After plenty of games its very clear that the winner of the round is predetermined and its most likely the player who paid for it. If you dont pay you better get used to see an endless flow of bad hands.
Good strategy game to make a bid based on probability. We enjoy bidding with or without the blind which is unknown to everyone and decide to play hand when the bidding is tight and our hand seems good enough.
This is a great app. Our only negative would be how they teach/ describe varying rules.
Growing up in Germany we used to play a lot of Skat with our family and friends. Since living in the US we havent had much of a chance. Our brothers and we decided this would be a good chance for us bring back the old times.
We played about 100 games. At first we would get decent cards and it was fun to play! After a while our cards got worse and worse and we practically was unable to win a game therefore loosing chips. We didnt want to sign in and Im sure thats the consequence! And dont tell us that was just running out of luck!!! Again at first decent card, of course you cant win every game thats not what we are expecting, but not being able to play a single game out of 30+ games in a row due to terrible cards, that has nothing to do with no luck.
The app is true and fun, but requires attention to detail . Game parameters are not visible enough.
We like it. Skat ist eine schne neben beschftigung der welt.
Great game play reminds us of the ScraubDich Skat Klub – Carlos, Klaus, Gunter & Mike. The only thing missing is running to the bathroom laughing when one of us got 60 points or Kontra lost. 1 Warsteiner for our former comrades we really enjoyed our time with them.

Nice game. We wish it could reorganize the cards to reflect either a null game or a grand.
Its a nice app, but when we receive a phone call, the screen size and resolution change rendering gameplay almost impossible. Ive been booted from a game before because we are unable to see the cards in play. Other than that, very good.
Im not too great at skat but its a lot of fun to play this app.
So rare: very well done and still free.
We have played many Skat apps, but this is one is the best one. We can telly you that there is nothing better made or friendly use out there. If you get it you won't regret it. =).
