Its graphically gorgeous and the mechanics are actually terrific! Congrats to the developers. You really have something special here. We dont play it every day but every now and then we go back to it and we say to ourselves wow. They took an idea that was old and made it new again. Not only that but being that we live through the great age of quarter arcades we can honestly say that this game could easily have stood up against any of the classics from the era it seems to emulate. Very very impressed. The game is beautiful and it works really well so congrats again. You should feel very proud that you put together such an awesome retro shooter like this. If you had a Murch store Id probably buy stuff from it. One last thing. We hope that you continue to improve the game and add to it as time goes on. Please dont forget about this game its so cool. We play this space game during our travels or once we have absolutely nothing to do. Such a simple relaxing game, Chillaxian is 5 stars. Well designed & love the sounds effects. So far at level 891. Want to reach 1000 before the end of the summer. We lost our 891 level, dropped back to 1, are you able to restore it. Soccer explorers is our name. Please & Thank you.
This game is really funand brings back a lot of nostalgiabut its a bit frustrating (on tv) that you cannot pause the game. Also, when you quit playing the game and go back to it, you lose your progress, and the high scores are reset. PLEASE fix these issues.
Well…thanks for updating for newer phones, but play is the same. The ship is limited in horizontal movement, still held by the glowing red lines on right and left to old screen size. Yet..the aliens can move beyond the lines…but we cant shoot them there. Because they can use the whole screen…but we cannot. Doesnt make sense, let us move all the way left and right and use the entire screen. Nice try but really its just wallpaper at this point. Please fix! Thx.
Itd be pretty cool if youd fix this as its still a massive bummer to have all our progress wiped out.
This is a Great game to play when it works Right but we did the update and it crashes around level 1000 and throws you back to level One! Can you fix it or am we just going to Be forced to delete it and forget the Joy Ive had playing it all this time.
This is just a flat out good game. Galaxian had quite a few handling issues. This doesn't. It's also more comprehensive in its effort to be a complete game. The debris fields, the hive levels. And the actual bosses fill this game out. We payed 2 bucks for it and it left us feeling like we owe someone money. Just buy it.
First, the new review… The new update doesn't allow us to get into the preferences or to pause the game. It crashes every time we try to do either. Perhaps it's because we're using an iPad 3 with iOS 9.5.3, but it still needs to be fixed. By the way, this is coming from the player with the all-time high score. Beat us if you can ;-) Now, our original review… We love it! Definitely a blast (pun intended) from the past. It's just hard enough to make it a terrific, retro example of the 80s/90s space genre. Rarely do you get caught in a corner like the old Galaxian game, which is nice. If you enjoy "old school," you most assuredly will like this app. Thumbs up, baby.
Madgarden, we have been playing this wonderful game for a while now, and with the upcoming release of iOS 11, we are worried that it will not work any more, as Apple is switching to 64-Bit software! Please update Chillaxian so that we can all continue to enjoy and love it!! Thank you! :).

This game is so fun and we love the retro graphics and gameplay. The dev did a great job with this game. He is also very responsive to feedback via Twitter. Definitely recommend this game.
Years after release this game is a fully premium, full screen, experience that works flawlessly on the IPhone 6 running iOS 9.2.1. The control scheme is simple but fun and very effective. We love the graphics style and the gameplay. If you have ever played, or grew up playing, Galaxian you will absolutely love this game! It nails the arcade feeling and gameplay perfectly. Even the sounds give off the right atmosphere. Thank you madgarden for a great game.
The new retro movement is well represented with Chillaxian. The late 1970s, early 1980s arcade classics: Space Invaders, asteroids, Galaxian, and Galaga are all referenced here. The game itself has a look and feel as if you were playing a game created in 1979. And that's a good thing! It gets everything right about everything good in the old space classic shooters.
This game is super fun an addictive. The only controls you actually work with are moving the ship left and right (you don't shoot – the ship does that automatically). So, it's not too hard but it gets harder as you go, trying to dodge the enemy fire. Very well done for an iOS game.
Fun retro platform! One of our favorite iOS games.
Came back to give 5 stars. We never review anything, but when we clicked on 1979 mode and the game started to buzz like our old Vectrex console with built-in asteroids, we were overwhelmed with joy. Oh, & yea the game's fun.
Nice zone-out game. We love the fact that it's just a few hundred kilobytes in size, too! Brilliant and beautiful.
For the casual crowd, a nice easy Galaga clone for the first 50 levels, and a hardcore shmup for the next 4900. Don't know much about the dev, but we'll say they know how to make a decent game. Gets 5 stars for NO MICROTRANSACTIONS/UNETHICAL BULL (plus, a good game).
It is a fun game we cant say anything bad. Well actually we guess we could say one bad thing and that is that after a week or somit will get boring but other than that all we could say is download the game it will entertain you.
Game plays very well with a simple control scheme. Graphics are more than adequate for this style of game, and the file size is so small, there's no reason to ever delete it.
This is an amazing Galaga like game for iOS it has amazing graphics and soundtrack.

Ages ago (in the 90s) a free game came with our Macintosh computer: 'Pegleg II': it was simple, fun, and addictive enough to cause all-nighters of gameplay. .. It was The Stuff. But come osX out went Pegleg II and we've been on a hunt for the last decade-plus to find a game at all like Pegleg with zero luck …until now: enter Chillaxian: Very similar concept / feel and VERY fun to play. With Chillaxian you just maneuver – your ship shoots – this might not Sound intriguing until you get a feel for the controls: they're fantastic and allow the player to become immersed in the wonderfully lo-fi Chillaxian galaxy. AWEsome game and completely worth the asking price.
When Chillaxian was released maybe two or so years ago we played it all the time and loved it. Like most apps, it made its way to the furthest reaches of our iPhone after a few months. We were so happy to see it featured in the App Store as a throwback favorite. We immediately downloaded it again and it's like returning to an old classic only its brand new and absolutely perfect for mobile. Oh, and the curved missiles are a brilliantly executed touch. They make you feel like you're throwing big left and right hooks at your opponent while solving the chase problem so common to Galaga. We're guess the best we can say about this game is that the developer just gets it.
The one is the best and thins is the only one.
80s all the way. Best retro arcade shooter on iOS hands down! Only thing we could ask for is progress saving. Hate to get all the way up to wave 60, then have to die to save our score instead of continuing later.
It has excellent graphics, superb 80s music and sound effects! If you're looking for a game you can quickly get into and play this is it.
This retro game brings nostalgic design, gaming music, and more importantly……….. Game play back. Anyone who has ever enjoyed early historic video games will enjoy this.
It starts out fun but since there's no upgrades for your ship or weapon it seems kind of pointless to keep playing when your only goal is to reach as many levels as you can. You can acquire pod ships in the debris field but they don't last long. Would have been cooler if you could get these from the alien ships like in the original this game is copied from.
Can the game be updated for the latest iOS please.

Unfortunately, this game is pretty lame. You only control movement back and forth; the game shoots for you, slowly. Movement is slow and progression is slow. Not very fun or exciting. It looks cool but needs a single sliding control for movement and tap control for shooting.

Got this app for free and thank god because otherwise we'd be real salty. The only control is move left and right and the game automatically shoots for you. The game is slow moving, and not very involved. We were beating levels by sitting in one place. Don't recommend.
We would give it 5 STARS but there's a flaw. We've been playing it for a while now and absolutely love the throwback nostalgic arcade thrills. But we reached above level 5011 and it stopped recording our progress. The game returns us back to Level 5001. This seem to be its limit. Maybe we're expecting too much? Anyways 5 stars up to level 5001 and zero stars after that level.
Best $2 we've ever spent in App Store. FUN FUN FUN, makes us 13 years old again…. Galaga, with nods to Galaxian, Space Invaders, Defender, Asteroids, and best yet "Phoenix" boss levels hahahahaha. Recommend putting on "Moving Pictures" while playing. If you are under 40 you may be too young for this game.

80's inspired shooter goodness!!! Everything about this game is well done. The controls, the graphics, the color palette, the music and sound fx, and even the simplified scoring system. Excellent.

Chillaxian is a game that we spent our spare minutes picking away at. One minute here, another there… That's how we played. Until one sleep deprived night… We were sleeping in an unfamiliar bed at a house in Folly Beach, SC. Drunk people were screaming next door. We couldn't sleep, so we fired up chillaxian. And suddenly, total zen. The game is not relaxing, since it is a action shooter, but it is chill. Buy it.
We don't do reviews at all hardly… But this game deserves it! It's an awesome arcade game that brings back the the old gameplay of Galaga, & brings new mechanics into it! :D YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GET THIS GAME! & at only $1.99! IT'S AN INSTA-BUY! :D.
We really like the game. We would like some updates soon though. Like to play on different maps and upgrade your blaster or be able to customize your ship.
