What Makes Almost Anagrams Stand Out
How many words can you create using letters from the word "veterans"? Would you believe it is possible to form over 150? Test the extent of your vocabulary in Almost Anagrams!
Each game of Almost Anagrams will present you with a randomly selected word from its extensive database. You then see how many words you can create using letters from that word. Remember, this is ALMOST anagrams, so you do not have to use all of the letters in your new words. At the end of the round, a summary of the words found as well as the words not found will be shown. You may be surprised at just how many possible words there are!
Almost Anagrams features 2 modes of play:
- An exciting timed mode – As the clock winds down from 60 seconds, form new words to add small chunks of time to the clock. See how many words you can find before time runs out!
- A casual untimed mode – Take all the time you want and find words at your leisure. When you decide you are finished, tap "MENU", then "Quit To Summary" to see how many of the possibilities you found.

- New "Hint Mode" available during untimed play. When activated it will:
- Reveal the letter count in an available word.
- Allow you to reveal consonants one-by-one.

Finally! We found a game that has only one word and lets you make as many words as you can without limits or fuss. We like the word game, it keeps you thinking and you can be surprised by how many words come to mind.
We wonder who developed this game. It doesnt seem like it isReally based in the English language. The game excepts words like Raja and Rani (Asian Indian terms) and negroid but not negro.Ive been counted a lot of words that it should have accepted and a lot of words that we are surprised were accepted. ILike this game in concept. We used to play it on paper and thought itWould be convenient to play on our phone. We find it clunky and arbitrary. Theres no payoff when you find all the words or the longest word. It has no bells and whistles and no kudos.
We dont understand why perfectly innocent words, like certain body parts, are not acceptable, but a pejorative like yid is. Otherwise, fun game.
Nice, basic anagrams game without the obnoxious hype you have to endure with most game apps. Please consider displaying the percentage of words found in addition to the number of words. This way we could know if we are improving without taking time to do the math between rounds.

If you like to make words from one word, this game is fun, different and interesting! You are allowed to use two-letter words!!! Also a plus, while playing, there are no ad interruptions!!! We would ask developer(s) to charge less to purchase unlimited hints since there is a separate fee to remove banner ads. We are not trying to complain since we have seen other developers charge higher fees and charge for multiple ad removals!! Game deserves 5-Stars because ease of using, it is challenging, nice backgrounds, no ad interruptions, and just overall enjoyable game to find words from a word.
Anagram games Ive had so far. Accidentally deleted our old favorite and was looking for one that was comparable this is the only one that comes close. Our only real gripe is as you scroll through the list of words for one to play, if youre going too fast there is no back arrow, now that would be helpful.
This game is mentally stimulating.
Fun. Id like to see a scoring system so we can challenge ourselves to beat past scores. Id also like to see more than one shuffle option.
This is a great game to expand your mind; however, we see that we are inputting words that are not being captured and when the game concludes and we are provided with remaining words, we see words that we have entered. We see an area for growth.
We just wish they’d do away w/2 & 3 letter words (@ least 4 or > letters in the words) & rid the database of obscure words. There was 1 word the other day that ended in a "Q" w/o a "U", but Latt (as in a VERY commonly used coffee drink) is NOT a word !!??! Perhaps there’s a way to customize how many letters you want to limit in your game (like NO 2 or 3 letter words) in "Preferences" for the your next update (PLEASE!!)! . Otherwise great game, challenging & easy interface.
Why are words like ass and sex not words? We can list more, but we think you have the idea. These are not slang, not dirty or crude, not abbreviations or capitalized. Its not fun to play a game when real words are not allowed, but obscure words that no one knows are! Please fix this problem. Otherwise, we like the game a lot. (we agree about adding an active word count in the timed mode.).
Needs to show how many words we made & the total possible words while playing. We like that we can pick a new word. We never play until we have a word that can be used to create less than 20 to 30 new words. Wish it would play in landscape mode on devices. Perhaps Corona doesn’t support this.
Excuse us and Im not trying to be mean here we are a little annoyed with this puzzle games ive been looking for puzzle games that is accessible we are visually impaired so we found this game and it interested us but when we clicked on it and it downloaded all we heard was possible text welcome back and then when we tried to move on it wouldnt let us it just kept saying the same thing and would not let us move on so please fix it to where is voiceover accessible or make it so where we can turn a setting on or something please thank you.
A lot of the words are not. Maybe theyre foreign? Abbreviations? Names?? Unfortunately the app does not provide definitions so one can only wonder.
Really nice challenge at an airport or on downtime. Very easy to use and easy on the eye.
On one device its too long, on another device its fine. Can we set a time.
Two things would make this game much better. 1- we would like to see how many words e.g., 50/67, Ive found during timed mode. 2- Maybe even more important- find some way to eliminate the obscure, gibberish words. If their really is an audience who just loves to spell things like edh, provide a Common Words mode for normal humans. Otherwise players never get to feel that sense of completing/winning unless they only play words with 9 possible words. 3- Some sort of leaderboards – or at least social comparison that tells us how good we are compared to others. Thanks.

We love this game and it is educational.
Whole new user interface that addresses most of the concerns we raised in our initial review (below). Fortunately, while the colorful new design may take some getting used to for long-time users, it does not change what makes the game enjoyable. It’s a simple anagram game. Find all the words you can, timed or not. It loads fast, is easy to navigate and fun to play, and is worth the download. And we, for one, like the new design. — Original review: It’s all we wanted. To make it better, there are some user interface recommendations we could make: some sort of visual reward when you find all the possible words; an easier way to get a different word than going back to the home screen; a way to see which words you have already found (not just the last handful); a way to play the game in portrait mode; and several others. But if all you want is to make anagrams which ultimately is all we want (and we paid to remove ads) then this is for you.
Why the changes??? We don’t like them at all! You ruined a game we loved and played every day.
We grew up playing a similar game – but this one really lets you enters every last word, even some acronyms, slang, and foreign languages. Challenging and satisfying.
It’s an awesome game, it really makes you think. It’s amazing how many words you can think of, and how many you miss. We really like the challenge.
We have this game on our IPhone and our iPad and we love it! We never even come close to getting all the available words but maybe someday! Even got our Grand Daughters hooked on it.

We’ve been looking for a game that is just about finding words out of one word, and this fits that bill. It’s easy to use, and we really like that we don’t know how many possible words there are until we see the results. Great game! Definitely recommend it.

We love that we’re not timed … Our time, our speed. It’s gentle … Guessing how many words u can find in the main word … Then when u press done .. It tells u that u found 15 and there was 20 and they show those. No pressure.

We do like it but not as much as some other anagram games where you’re able to shuffle the letters. Still, it’s fun and definitely a challenge.
