Community Insight:
Its good. Hard but not too much that you cant figure it out.
Storyline, graphics & music are just right for this game. Fun to play & Bonus game.
Worked well no technical issues, thoroughly enjoyed the whole game.
When we first purchased this app, we wasn't sure we would like it. We were really surprised how much we did like it. It was much better than many of the recent games. It had a great, if creepy, storyline. It also got you much more immersed in the story as if you were there first person. We hope they bring us more games like this.
Has everything we love in a game..no glitches, map, labeled inventory, great games, good plot and for an added bonus…..really sexy voice of Death…but alas, it just would not work for us….we mean, he is death! Hello to all the gang…hope you are well and enjoying the weather when u look out from your AC cool house…It is freakin hot here! Hossy.
One of the better games, especially for the price. Interesting and sophisticated.
Death is back and he needs your help. A true sequel to Wild Hunt, not like the last Riddles of Fate money grab that had nothing to do with the original. Great game.
Elephant Games are always favorites of ours. With Memento Mori, you are hired by Death to kill some monsters who are cheating death by stealing souls. The first one is a vampire, which is always fun! As you solve the puzzles, you are aided by your well equipped detective lab, which you may access through the Teleporting Map. It allows you to develop photos, expose hidden writings, and cut new keys using a template and a blank key. Fun! After your first success, you are given another monster to chase across Europe. During your travels, you collect a deck of cards which enables you to play Solitaire. We love the fact that Elephant Games are always well labeled, particularly in Hidden Object scenes. That is a big help. We are still enjoying this, and have to rate it Five Stars. Any Elephant Game, any time, is perfect with us.
Very nice game. Was enjoyable to play. We will have fun playing it again.
We really enjoy this one so we purchased it.
We would so play this game if you like the story with a game. Should also play dark parables.
You'll remember this guy from the Four Horsemen. Well he's back and he needs your help. He even gave you a world travel globe to make it interesting. Just finished with Paris no Rats there but London's next so who knows but we know your up for anything L/M. A big shout out to all. If this makes it out of cyberspace we may try again. Lol and prayers to all.Snooper-158.
We love the variety of games and HOs. Lots of twists in the story, but not so difficult that you can't find your way.
Love this game…when is the next one? We need more games like this except longer. Beautifully done, great graphics and voice overs.
This game is one of the best yet by Elephant Games. The Graphics are stunning, the Puzzles just right for how difficult they are, and the Storyline is highly entertaining. We loved this one, it's well worth the money. Keep giving us games like this one Big Fish.
Death is back and he needs your help – again! Beautiful artwork, great storyline, very interactive! Fully transporting map (provided by death) and collectable playing cards. Reminds us of a good Sherlock Holmes game. Very enjoyable.
Found this looking for another game to play and am very happy we did. This is our favorite kind of game. Different variations on the HOS and several puzzles mixed in. Even though it is not brand new…it holds up! Would have given 5 stars except for the fact that the dreaded DARK scenes are sooo prevalent.
We're on the bonus game but can't finish. There is a glitch at trying to finish the puzzle and open the gate. Please fix…other than that, love the game but it is short. Game before this one in this series was much longer. Wrote the above back in Aug 2015 and nothing has been done to fix the glitch we encountered in the bonus game. Read some other reviews that state the same glitch. Since our last review over two months ago, we thought this glitch would've been fixed. Do you think something can be done to remedy this? Thanks.
Loved playing this game but entirely too short for the price! Finished in 2/12 hours.
Another great one with death, but too short. Finished the bonus real fast too. Wished it was longer. Too much for the play time.
We felt like more was going on in the bonus game & we were shocked at how abrupt the main game ended. But it was still a pretty good game & hard to put it down till the end.
It would have been a great game except for the annoying popups asking us to rate it. We have a feeling that's why a lot of your games are crashing. Those popups are interfering with the game. The graphics were great. The game was shorter than most games you offer. We also found it quicker to use the hint button and transport that way, instead of using the map. Please get rid of those popup requests. OKAY.
Very good game, but too short. Elephant Games are usually always excellent, but we feel they came up "short" (in length) this time.
Just started the bonus chapter, but we are stuck at the gate, it won't open.
This game was great. You play a trusted character to help Death deal with those who have upset the Balance. The game was very engaging and the story really good. The main problem was it was way too short. The plot twists were predictable and the tasks were fun to complete, but the story could have gone on longer. We're not sure it was worth the price.
Once again, help Death by destroying Chaos and restoring balance. This was the first Riddles we were able to play, as the others were very glitchy! The game wasn't that long, but there was a bonus adventure and lots of extras, including wallpapers, solitaire and a secret room. Loading was instantaneous between scenes. The graphics were a bit dreary, but at least no RATS! Also you get to travel around Europe. The cut-scenes were impressive. In your detective house, you have some interesting tools to use: a key-replicating machine and a device which develops different documents. You had plus items, which we love! You also had a magical magnifying amulet to play with. The HO scenes were varied, from word lists to silhouettes to using one object to unlock another. The puzzles and games were varied and fun. There was a teleport map and inventory was labeled, but it didn't tell you what the item was when you got it. In the bonus adventure, you receive 3 different magical abilities and in order to use them you must first do a mini-game. So the game flowed well and it was a lot of fun to play! So why didn't we rate it 5 stars? First of all, sometimes it was very difficult to pick up an inventory item. You had to tap really hard and repeatedly. Secondly, the game was too short! Lastly, the teleportation map was crappy! Objectives everywhere you look! If we cannot do a task, we don't want an exclamation point, because then there's a lot of useless running around, which defeats the purpose of the teleport device! In any event, it was a really good game and we do recommend playing it! Dream Team, please stay on RAT PATROL, thank you, especially to our beloved Snooper! Also don't we all want a new Empress and a new House of 1000 Doors? Then everybody needs to start requesting them again, over and over until BigFish cannot stand it anymore. We actually spoke to Arielle at BigFish and she told us that the Dream Team Elite is taken very seriously! So please keep up with very thorough reviews and do not give 5 star ratings to games with any issues, from hard tapping to a crummy map, to length, just because you liked it! We have to be brutal or we won't get great caliber games! To the Dream Team Elite, and KimMeadow, Sunshine Susie and Opinion for their fabulous reviews! Dream Team, shall we induct them in to our exclusive team? Let us know what you think! We hope you all are enjoying your summer (except us, in the Everglades with a heat index of 100 degrees every day; just great for our long luscious hair).
Enjoyed this game very much. Graphics are beautiful! Enjoyed the mini games inside the games. Really enjoyed Gerard in the mystery game! However, there was one small problem. When you tried to touch certain items or you found an item, it was hard to get them to respond. Besides that, the game was great.
This game was fun to play, and other reviewers have explained about the map, and the usual accoutrements, but we did want to add our two cents regarding the length of the game. We were able to complete the game in an evening, and that was between dinner and bedtime, albeit a late bedtime. The bonus game is over very quickly, and the secret room took no time at all. All that being said, we had a good time playing it.
Enjoyable. Shorter than most games. Hope the sequel is full length.
Glitches in the puzzles. The movement functions keep stalling or not working. Progress isn't saved. Program keeps starting from beginning instead of continuing. Only way to get past this seems to just give up and select skip button. Progress on other parts isn't saved either. Frustrating.
We always get excited to see an elephant game production but lately they're getting shorter and shorter. No exception here. Could have awesome but just way to short. We remember when elephant games were soooo long and with so much to do in each scene we would almost tire of it before it ended. Now, it's over just as you get really into the story. Why? Beautifully drawn as usual, highly entertaining but not 5 stars solely due to length.
Good game graphics are nice. It has frozen couple times. The ones that closed we were able to re-open. Overall a fun game to play.
The game story is to short for the price.
We enjoyed the game but it was super short. The bonus game was really short too.
Game was beautifully done, good storyline and, of course, the always required interactive map. We did feel like it was relatively short even with the bonus and the whole making a key thing got pretty repetitive. But overall very nice, original and can't wait for more.
We really loved this game! From the beautiful artistry to the voice overs, not to mention the excellent story line! The only reason it did not earn five stars was due to all the Big Fish ads! As soon as we were becoming engrossed in the storyline there it was, an ANNOYING AD from Big Fish! You are shooting yourself in the foot! We're so sick of your ads in the games. STOP WITH THE FREAKIN ADS,.
Plays well. Graphics are well done. Game play is consistent with our expectations. Our only negative with this game is that when characters speak they are out of sync with the words they're saying.
This game was a mix of challenging puzzles and non-puzzles (you untangle the rope by tapping it a few times). Frequently, The Detective (player) has to go back to his/her home, but you can't get there without tapping the hint button. Halfway through, the storyline switched and the end was in no way related to the beginning. Bonus game was mostly dialogue between characters with odd speech bubbles that were not a part of main game. Free play was of decent length but after the game was purchased it was ridiculously short and the puzzles were easier.
This game is too confusing for us to enjoy.
We purchased this game for iPad. The graphics are quite good. The atmosphere as well and we liked globe trotting to different cities aspect. The puzzles are a bit varied, some good and some are so easy they seem pointless. Tastes that way are subjective though. The game seems a bit short to us. The big negatives for us was it is somewhat glitchy. A few areas were very hard to get to respond to screen touches. When it was puzzles requiring a lot of clicks to rotate items it was pretty annoying. The worst thing though was in the bonus play. There is a bug where at the gate before the show down with Chaos you use an amulet and magic by solving an extremely easy jigsaw puzzle. The game keeps kicking you back to the jigsaw with one piece missing. On the Big Fish forums we read several others had this issue as well. We also notice it was an issue for others in the reviews here. When we tried to submit our issue in the technical issues section though it was locked from accepting posts.
Ok game but way too short for the money and too many interruptions.
…as everyone else stated. Big time buzzkill to get through it all and fizzle at the end, unable to complete it. We'll be re-rating when that's fixed.
Bought and played it a week ago. OK GAME. Deleted and tried to download again and they want us to pay for it again. This has happened to us before.
We practically never write a bad review but this game is so short we finished in record time. Hardly longer than some trials. Disappointing as it had the makings of one of Elephants better games. BTW Hey big fish, what's up with all the dead or victimized Damsels in Distress in all your games.
The game is far too short, and explorable and interactive ares within the scenes is too limited. Games is also a bit glitchy: objects do not respond to taps, the rings in disc puzzles will not completely turn with a swipe, and interactive makes takes many taps on an active location so the one can teleport to it. A nice, short game, but it is definitely not the quality of game Elephant typical produces.
Game crashed so we reinstalled. Now it crashes In the first scene when we obtain the sphere of death. We bought the full game and am feeling taken. Please fix.
UPDATE: we had a glitch towards the end of the bonus where we could not get the gate to open after assembling the jigsaw pieces upon using the special power. It was a mini game so we tried several times and then skipped it, but the gate would not open. Now we cannot complete the bonus or access the secret room. Not very happy so we deducted a star!!! We love the "Riddles of Fate" series. You are a detective, and Death needs your help in restoring balance by catching those who have avoided punishment for their crimes. You will find and prove guilty those culprits; and once they are caught, other souls who were innocent victims will be allowed to enter this world. There were some fun twists on gameplay. You use some "developer" devices to make keys to open locks, make text or clues appear on paper or in books, and you use an amulet to talk to the dead. The graphics were crisp and clear, but a bit on the dark side. There were the usual 3 modes of difficulty with no option to customize. The HOS were mostly the standard word lists with some mild interactivity, although one was a silhouette; and in another, you had to move items aside to find the pairs. The puzzles had some "move the tiles" and some "move the items to the proper location" types. One puzzle was a book, which had photos in it; and when you clicked on the photo, you had to move some pieces to the proper location and then you received a part of the story. In another, you had a doll or some puppets in a theatre; and you interacted by placing items on the doll in accordance with the clues. The puzzles were on the easy side. The inventory is labeled and interactive. The map, in the shape of an orb, is intricate and somewhat cumbersome to use. If you click on the map for a desired location, an area opens up; and then you have to click again on the desired location. It was an extra, unnecessary step which became quite a nuisance. The map does show objectives, but we found the map to be useless in finding what needed to be done. The collectibles, all found throughout the locations, were 52 cards for a solitaire game in the extras, as well as ghostly figures and diary pages. You also had the usual extras, including a secret room, but we don't know what it does. We like how the player's name is incorporated into the game, such as "Joe's House". Overall, the gameplay was linear and quite simple. It was also very short, even with the bonus. Still a good game to pass time.
Finally a Big Fish game that didn't constantly crash or need to be started over repeatedly! But it's really way too short. The bonus chapter was over in less than 30 minutes! And maybe it's just us, but If your going to place a game in the Victorian era, your characters shouldn't say things like "bummer".
It's good, but very, VERY short. Three quick chapters is all. And they really rushed the last chapter. Disappointing.
As described by many other reviewers, the jigsaw gate puzzle is still a game ender. You cant place the last piece, and you cant skip the minigame to avoid this glitch. That means you cant finish the bonus, you dont get access to the secret room, etc. Big Fish should be ashamed for failing to fix this for more than 3 years, but then theyve demonstrated that their iPad users are the red headed stepchildren of their fan base. Their poor treatment of us has assured that we will never turn to their PC games as a substitute. Our rating absent this glitch would have been a 3, due primarily to the short length of the main game, the lack of novelty in the puzzles, and the blurry graphics. We wont play this again.
