Game rules: There are between two and four players and 32 cards. Every player always has a hand of three cards and one to three lives indicated by matchsticks. Three more cards are placed face-up in the center. Whoever first reaches 31 points wins the round. If no-one reaches 31 points, the player with the lowest point score loses a life.
You get points for cards of the same suit: Rank cards are worth the same as their number (7, 8, 9, 10). Face cards are worth 10 and aces are worth 11 points. Another special card combination comprises three cards of equal points value – those make up 31½
You can do one of four possible actions each round:
- Exchange one of your cards with one from the center
- Swap your entire hand with the three cards in the center
- Pass, if you don't want to make any card changes
- Knock, if to indicate the last round once you think that you will not be the player with the lowest hand-score.
If you are the first to draw at the start of the round, you can chose to put your hand in the middle and get another hand from the deck, or put three new cards from the deck in the middle of the table.
The player with the lowest amount of points loses a round. Once all matchsticks are gone (burnt), the player is considered to “swim” – this means they can continue to play but losing one more round finally means “drowning” and losing the game. However, you still have a chance of winning even while swimming! Whichever player is left at the end, wins.

Two years ago we gave this game only 1 star because it froze on us. We recently gave it another look, and its working fine now. So to be fair, Im updating our review. Two suggestions for the developer: 1. The ads seem to go on forever. Thats what is keeping us from rating the game 5-stars. Please give us the option to buy an ad-free game. 2. When a hand is over, everyones final points are shown. But its only for an instant. Please give us more time to examine the points. Perhaps an optional Next Hand button could be used. (Ive noticed this when playing against the computer. We have not played against people yet.).
We started noticing that theres been fake wins and Ive been screwed over a lot. We were left with one other and the person knocked and after we showed each other cards, we saw their cards with all different suits and small numbers. One had 8, 7 then 9 of all different suits yet, it said they got 30.5? Their wins are completely fake and we had exactly 20 all hearts. We should have won a ton of games, yet we were cheaped out on misleading wins!! This game would be fun if the wins were accurate.
We declined their privacy policy. Shouldnt we be able to do that, as we just wanted to play offline? We guess not, because the game froze. This game became a quick delete for us.
Great graphics and easily understandable playhangs up bad when it cant get a good network signal. Training is misspelledIm no genius but we think its spelled Get your butt whipped here coz the winner has been predetermined and youre probably not it probably wouldnt fit in that little button though. Deals feel stacked, or better put, not shuffled and random. Great beer game in Germany, played with paper coasters in lieu of matches, and we were happy to find the Scat card deck in the options. Great game to learn, but best when playing with the real thing. Hope everyone enjoys it.
Did not like the way the cards are and it is not the same as the real life card game.
We would rate this game 5 stars except for the annoyingly loud adds that have recently been added. It had ads before, but now with recent updates the new ads are really annoying. We would pay $10 US to get rid of the ads. (The game is that fun and addicting).
Game is terrible. Played 40 games and won once. Im not an idiot, Ive played this game for 10 years and literally keep Getting screwed out of wins.
We really loved this game it made us miss our grandma so much we just loved playing blitz and this is why we downloaded this app its an memory and a fun game but what we dont like about this game is when the other players try to throw us out of the game we get very annoyed they dont think that we have a good hand but still they make us lose our life means a match so whatever they do to us please tell them to stop.
Used to play Battle 31 which is a version of this game when we were a kid in bowling alleys. Awesome to have this multiplayer.
