【About Sailing】
-Sailing is a sport advances by wind power.
-When a yacht is travelling upwind by 45 degrees, it is sailing ”close-hauled”.
-When a yacht is travelling diagonally to the left towards upwind, it is sailing ”starboard”.
-When a yacht is travelling diagonally to the right towards upwind, it is sailing ”port”.
-The maneuver of turning between ”starboard” and ”port” is called ”tack”.
-Make a series of tacking moves in a zig-zag fashion, and lead your yacht to the finish line!!
-New courses have been added.
【About "Right of Way"】
-Starboard yacht has the right of way.Boats on a port tack shall keep clear of boats on starboard tack.
-If you meet with starboard boat when you are on a port tack, you have to tack or bear not to hit.
-When a boat is tacking it shall keep clear of boat that is not tacking. You need to check whether there is no ship around you, before start tacking.
-If you hit another ship without your right of way, you will be "DSQ"(disqualified), which means "game over".

This game is incredible and we think all sailors should play this game.
Every now and then the boat will turn opposite of the command and cost you the race. Other than that its fun.
Overall this is a great game. The way the AI works is almost perfect (follows almost every rule (starboard, leeward, etc. (and in a realistic way))). As well as localised wind direction and wind shifts, which is almost unheard of in sailing simulators. A very simple game capable of much more than youd think. There are a few issues though, and fixing these would improve the experience of playing the game. Firstly, the AI has some issues rounding marks. First example of this is that they wont give you buoy room. We have seen multiple instances where we would be overlapped with another boat entering the three-boat-length circle, and the AI wouldnt give us room to round the mark, instead just pushing us straight into the mark, ending in us getting protested. There is already a sort of zone surrounding the marks so this shouldnt be too hard of a rule to implement. Another issue rounding marks is that we would give the AI buoy room, the AI would tack onto a higher lay-line (as expected), well at least it would try to. The AI would tack onto port as if tacking back to starboard to make the mark, but then would never tack back and would just sail way away from the course, never making any attempt to come back. These are the issues with mark rounding. Secondly, the random start position mode doesnt work very well with the mechanics of the game. The only races that you have a good chance at winning in this game are starts that the game puts you at the boat for (the starboard side of the line). If you are anywhere else on the line you are basically done for that race. If there was at least 30 seconds before the actual start of the race for you to simply position on the line it would make starts much easier and give everyone in the race the ability to fight for a good position on the line, which is much better than just pressing play and hoping you get a good spot. This would improve starts by a large margin. Lastly, the steering system is hard to use. Both steering options in the game arent exactly great for steering a boat. The default option would be okay if you were to get rid of the tap to tack option, as small corrections especially when reaching to the finish on a triangle or trapezoid are very hard to do without the boat randomly heading up unexpectedly; so an option to disable this would be helpful. The head down option is great for ducking people on an upwind, but makes pretty much everything else nearly impossible, with the boat just fighting you the whole time while youre on a downwind or a reach. A modified version of the sail to tap position would be ideal. If these changes were to be made, it would make for a much better experience playing this game. This game is already awesome, and has the potential to be even better. This review is meant to not criticise, but help to improve this wonderful game. With these improvements, the game would be incredible.
Should up date the rules sop that they refelct the RRS, add pre start and allow for an after race review.
Its great practice for wind shifts and right-of-way rules. We have used it for quite a while. Unfortunately, now we receive a network error and cannot watch the obligatory ad and return to the game. Even if we delete app and redownload we cannot progress beyond upwind practice course. The only help we can find is a forum on facebook, and we are not. We would gladly pay to remove ads. Help us please! Fun game when its working.
This helps us to visualize what works better than winning a sailboat race, we like it.

We havent skippered a race in decades, and havent sailed in years. Ive got a hotshot 40 yr old Sonar. We cant wait to get back at it.
Fun sailing game. Trick is to learn the speed of course changes. And watch wind direction. Has all the basic elements of upwind beer can racing on Wednesday nights.
Takes some practice. Control isn't the best. But considering what we have to control the boat with it is as good as one could hope for.
This app is so much fun. The steering is very simple and easy to use, but it can be buggy and frustrating. If the developer works out these bugs so the handling stays smooth this will be the best sailing app out there. Please fix! We will come back and give 5 stars when you do.
We wish there were more courses in the free version and maybe more obstacles, but it's fun for a simple game.
Its simple but it nails all of the basics of dinghy racing strategy. This is a great tool to learn about the many variables in a sailboat race and how to make strategic decisions to get the edge. We only wish that it better represented speed differences over different points of sail such as sailing dead down wind versus a broad reach.
It helps a beginner to understand some basics of sailing, and its a fun little game. There doesnt seem to be much to it, but hopefully the dev is planning to do more.
We love this game, but wish it would allow for competing for 2nd place, can you update to do this? Also, the upwind practice is the only course option where the competition will not run into the marks. We play at slowest speed and strategize.
When two boats are on the same tack, the windward boat must keep clear. The app does not correctly apply this rule. Please update.
Wish for more boats, more AI sophistication, but entertaining nonetheless.
We love this game so far, but we would love to see the course be doubled or tripled in length. A longer course would make the tactics much more fun and meaningful.
We can see a great deal of potential with a game like this. Certainly worth trying out.
This app is great. We do sailing ourselves and this app is amazing. But sometimes the control get confusing. Like when Im going down and we want to go left… It bring us to the right and it messes us up. But overall it is an amazing app and we love it, we dont know why its not famous.

More f a physics challenge than a regatta but excellent all the same. Trying hard to break 57 seconds on the third triangle option with the controls all the way up. Fun.
Fun but some the rules need updated especially around Mark roundings.
This simple game could be a fun diversion. But, it doesnt know the rules. It has DSQed us several times when we were leeward boat. The controls dont work reliably around marks. Basically pretty useless.
Keeps your skills up during the off-season and has lots of fun new courses. We played this since before the big update and loved it the whole time.
