Community Insight:
This one has a cool look and more in-depth tasks but the maneuvering is more difficult and it takes so much time to get from one place to another. The first one is an amazing game, its hard to beat, so this one still gets 5 stars.
Dystopias are supposed to have a point. This is just about making friends and killing them off for career advancement. Youre going to get arrested before anything meaningful happens. Dont bother. At least with Beholder 1 there was a goal, even if you couldnt actually get to it: leave the country with your family. Here, its just endless bizarre bureaucracy and increasingly distasteful death sequences. Ugh.
We cant believe we once thought this was better than the original. The traveling back and forth between work and home is tedious, and the tasks arent much better. One or two gameplays and it becomes too much.
Nothing like the first game, or blissful sleep. Gameplay completely different, its not so much about the choices you make and just doing the tasks. We loved the first game so much, and Ive been waiting for 2-3 years to get this game and when we finally did we havent even made it to the second floor and we dk if we will Im so bored of this game already. Just a major downgrade from the original. If we could get a refund we prob would. Since we cant Ill just give it a break for a few years and see if it gets better with time.
We enjoyed the theme and story of this game very much. Unfortunately it crashed and we lost all the hard earned progress we build over two days. This was just so disheartening and unbelievable. If this game could autosave correctly this would be an amazing experience. This fiasco ruined it for us and we dont think we will be playing for awhile. Absolutely disappointing and hopefully it will improve.
We really liked beholder so when beholder 2 came out we got it instantly. It has such a rich story and the gameplay is always exciting because there are so many ways to play. We have already completed the game twice trying different choices each time. We would definitely recommend this game.
This game is amazing. Please add persian language.
Literally stayed up for an entire night just to get through the game. Its just amazing!! Looking forward to more.
It is a great game but you need to dial it back when you have to pay your rent in this game.
Answering the same questions over and over to earn money gets old after you get to the 12 floor. Its like actual work, not fun! Successfully processing forms should provide more money so you can pay bills and advance the story without reading the same lines over and over and over again.
It has this older tap and hold type of movement that is quite slow for a mobile experience. Its a pretty fun game.
High quality, well-made game that offers much more than your average app store faire. Standing alone it's a four or maybe even five star game. It's difficult however, not to compare it to the original, since it carries the same name as the first followed by the number "2"; and now we've covered all of the similarities between this game and Beholder. We loved the first beholder, the game mechanic was original and evoked a deeper emotional response since we were spying on our friends and neighbors instead of playing "papers, please" diet with total strangers. The stories seem more over-the-top and dramatic requiring a little more effort to suspend our disbelief. The controls feel a little off as well. Regardless, take our review with a grain of salt, for we have not yet finished this game. Unfortunately, we don't imagine that we will.
The original was SO GOOD. This one bored us pretty quickly. We think they tried to make up for the boredom by adding in traveling and extra scenes, but these just increased it for us. Im all for you coming up with another one thats more similar to the original. Maybe try to make it more present day or something.
So well done, so thoughtful, funny, well-written. EXCEPT when you get to the mini-game on Floor 25 that you must play to make money. The game just lurches to a halt as you scroll up and down trying to match things, not too much, not too little, but enough to not have to endure this exercise FOREVER. Ho-lee cow, what a literal kill joy. We do not think we will be playing any more.
Certificate is not valid. Our phone wont allow the install because of security details involving an invalid certificate. How crappy is that.
Im giving this a 1 star because we cant seem to find the times table to see which offices are available for that day. We went on to YouTube to see people on PC play it and it shows the time table and shows what offices are open for that day but it doesnt show us that for mobile so its a complete guessing game. We hope theres a spot somewhere where we can see the times table because we cant do anything and we just waited $3 on a game that doesnt it seem to work properly for a mobile game.
*Updated Review** After completing the game we need to change our 4 star to a 5 star, phenomenal game with phenomenal storyline/endings. This is a must buy, for gamers that do purchase this game here is a few help segments that will help save you some headaches that we experienced. It will probably save some more time as well, *Don't worry no spoilers, just some helpful hints to make your experience a great one. #1 – Saving – Take advantage of the manual saving in the game. We got to a point that we started manual saving any chance we got. That way if you get yourself into a corner with the storyline you can go back through and make some different choices as needed. Also we were one of the unfortunate ones that relied on the auto save feature of the game and paid the price by losing a promotion to the next job. #2 – Money issues? – Completing side missions will help with your money. The jobs you have in the game become very repetitive and unfortunately there is no way around spending time on these tedious jobs to help you complete missions. The more time you spend on the jobs the more it will help you get into a rhythm so youre not spending as much time sitting at your desk. Take our advice complete side missions can, completing them can give you a substantial amount of money to help cover bills as you work towards the main story and your promotions. #3 – Hidden scanners – It May not seem like that big of a deal but it is imperative for the best possible experience at the end. You are definitely going to want to go through and spend the extra time searching every square inch of the game for the hidden scanners. Our first time through we only grabbed them when we found them but was kicking ourselves at the end of the game for not searching harder for the scanners with notes/information in them. Again this is a must buy and would love to see another game like this one within the series.
We love the first beholder more. Really annoying have to doing all the tests just to earn money. And never saves the game after an update. We just lost so much progress again.
