Disc Brick – Board Game Review

Disc Brick is a Board/Casual game from Roger Pollard, first launched in 30th August 2019.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 461+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Disc Brick Stand Out

Collect discs and break bricks! See how far you can go without letting a brick hit the red line! It's harder than it looks…

This brick breaker is simple, clean, aesthetic, and fun! I work hard to make sure my games are enjoyable and ethically monetized. Therefore, you will find no ads in my game, nor will you find any luck-based purchases, consumable purchases, or play limits. I hope you enjoy this game and compete with your family and friends to see who can get the highest score!

Purchase the Deluxe Expansion to add new power-ups, board sizes, and an additional power-up storage slot during gameplay! It is a one-time purchase, and very worth it!

This Board game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

This game is addicting, and even better it has no ads! Feels like old mobile games, instead of trying to shove as many ads as possible to make money, they actually made a good game.

This is a great game and a great time waster. We appreciate the lack of ads paired with actual quality gameplay.

We have been playing disc brick for a very long time. We think we may be the only person that plays it anymore? We have a high score of 241 and Ive broken 123,652 bricks. It literally never gets old, but its so simple. We dont even bother with anything else on our phone anymore because this game is so incredible. Still have not bought premium.

Very simple, but satisfying haptics and NO ADS. We were so content with it we upgraded to deluxe after a few days because we wanted to make sure the developer got some $! Hopefully they make more games.

Being a modern day goat at brick, we can consistently hit Arabian Vectors. Unfortunately, we do have some complaints. You know we love brick to death, but it can get a little old. With a lack of updates to the free version, it gets boring after 1 or 2 200+ runs. We suggest you update the free version more. Thanks, The G.O.A.T.

No ads and it downloaded really fast(we have a iPhone 8 with little storage) Solid game.

Great game, came from tiktok btw.

We saw a tik tok that the creator of this game posted and came straight here. We just downloaded the game and so far its great.

Came from tiktok, game is pretty coll.

V2.1: There was an update released a few months ago that fixed the difficulty towards the upper 100's and made this a blast to play again. This is our favorite game to pass the time! ============================= V2: Still a great way to pass some time, but feels more challenging, and it's not quite as fun starting back at 1 when you get to 100+. Can't quite put our finger on how it's different, but the physics seem to have changed a bit, making it harder to progress after you hit 150 or so. Haptics are a little over the top, but easy enough to turn off. ============================= V1: Really simple and fun game that is very satisfying when you reach higher levels and clear out a crowded screen. Would love to see some kind of stage clearing / tiered levels (every 20?) so we can start a new game without having to go all the way back to 1. We've been able to get all the way up to 227 and it's a little daunting to try and beat that high score when starting back at 0.

Stop reading reviews and just download it already. Its addictive and NO ADS.

Listen, we found this game from a TikTok and after playing the game, not bad but not groundbreaking. We really enjoy no ads.

We found this on TikTok and have found nothing wrong with it. We can live without the customization the payed version gives you and am so glad that it doesnt have ads. We will probably buy the payed version though just to support the creator because people like you make us actually want to buy the stuff you make.

We dont normally write reviews but this game is great. We love the lack of ads and just this game in general. One thing we do really wish this game has is the ability to recall the discs. Sometimes you fire discs and they dont hit anything and then you just have sit and wait. It would be great if there was a button or you could swipe down to bring the discs back. Other than that, great game.

This version 2 is not bad either but we prefer version 1 better for some reasons. Version 2 feels slow. Ver 2 cut off animations. Also ver 2 changed algorithm/physics so no infinite loop patterns which was great on ver 1 cuz it could recover from almost game over situations. We wish the author releases ver 1 as disc brick classic.

This is much less fun. Spent the last few years trying to break 500. This new version isnt possible past 200. Much less interesting.

The recent update changed the look, feel and function of the game to something cartoony and generally inferior. It also wiped out our highest score progress, which was a bummer. Far less satisfying to play now. Missing the old version.

Since this new update, we cannot play this game at all on our M1 iPad Pro. It stutters like MAD. Works fine on our far less powerful iPhone 11.

We've k own this developer since he was a toddler. He is so thorough and dedicated to his craft , while being a great principled guy. Enjoy the game.

Love this upgrade even more – so much so that we paid to go premium. The new features are awesome and this game is very cathartic. A must-have.

We dont post many reviews. But this game is an absolute gem. Thank you for such an awesome game that doesnt bombard you with ads or pay to play.

In this day and age its really refreshing to have a genuinely fun app without ads or predatory microtransactions. Really great.

Its trickier than you think. Robust. The upgrade is fun & still free. The one time payment for the deluxe version in our opinion is worth it.

This game is a good one to keep on the phone to pull up when you want something to do while watching a rerun show or just have a few moments. Having no ads pop up every couple minutes also just makes it so fun and stress free! Highly recommend! One of our favorite apps Ive ever downloaded. Our husband loves it too. Our high score is 208 and his is in the 300s.

Kudos to the dev for not slapping the game with ads and micro transactions.

We've only played once since the recent update. Targeting feels improved. (Got all the way up to 117) Liking the new sound-effects, and the new haptics give play a nice, engaging "feel." Still no ads, THANK YOU.

Vers 2: Such a disappointment. We loved how clean this game was and this new design is not. We no longer enjoy playing. Wish there was a way to get the original version back. Vers 1: This is a true, simple masterpiece that has hooked our whole family for half a year! We saw your post on Reddit and got it, and it's been such a breath of fresh air: challenging, free, no annoying extras, just fun. The only downside is that we'll likely never best our wife's high score of 240. Please develop more games, we'd happily pay for quality like this.

IPad Air 2 on 14.8. New game and nothing is rendered besides touch and UI. Completely unplayable.

Ive played this game for hours on a plane ride and for minutes on the subway. It never gets old. Its easy to come back to a game you left midway through. Id buy every game from this developer, no questions asked.

This game is fun, easy-to-learn but hard to master, and is simply great. However, theres a pain that could be easily fixed. When players reach the 200-400 level and a lone dot bounces up & down 300+ times, it takes several minutes. DEV, please design a fast-forward button to eliminate this. Thanks for reading and for developing this great game.

This is just a really good game! Ive never had a bug or glitch, theres no ads, and all the IAPs are for aesthetics only. The only complaint we could possibly have is that a speed-up button might be nice for when a single ball gets stuck hitting a block worth 100+, it can get a bit boring just waiting for it to run out. Highly recommend this game.

Good, simple game for passing the time. Good graphics. Glad there are no ads. A+.

Great work. More power ups, etc. Would be great.

Easy to pick up & learn but hard to master, pretty visuals and no ads! Saw on Reddit & highly suggest trying out.

We only have 2 games on our phone and this gets one of those slots. Super fun and satisfying game :).

This game is simple and well programmed, but the gameplay makes us hate the developer. Youre playing the game, relaxing and having fun, and the game decides its time for you to lose. Five bricks every single turn. Every single turn until you lose. No breaks, no change ups, just time for you to lose. How about not putting five bricks at the top every single turn.

The game is fun and very easy to understand we personally enjoy it a lot as something to turn to when Im bored and we dont want to spend too much battery or we have no service and we just want to focus on something, our only gripes are that the frenzy fire ability isnt really all too useful in what Ive played so far and that there is no leaderboard or ranking, we have made it to round 166 and as far as Im concerned we have the world record, although we guess as of this update theyre making it hardet so we guess our high score is invalid.

We really enjoy the relaxing nature of this game. Wondering if there is any chance of a landscape version for iPad.

No ads, no timers, no internet required, and nothing you need to purchase. Fantastic game, wish there were more apps like this.

So a dude on reddit post it and gotta say love it. Was like addicted to it. Now we just play it once in a while. Its a game you can count on to just play when bored or easy entertainment without pesky ads or bothering you for in game purchases. (For developer: if you make another game Id be happy to play it).

This game is free and an absolute blast to play. We look forward to trying to beat our High score each day and love coming back for a just a few more rounds.

Awesome game. No ads. Beautiful time waster. Our biggest qualm is the power ups. Its use them or lose them. We want to be able to store our power ups! Currently, if we have a 2x and another shows up on the screen, we have to use the one we have or the new one just disappears once you pop it. Why cant we store them up until needed/the game ends.

The game is pretty good. We like that there is no ads, but waiting so long into the game to get power ups takes some of the fun out of it. The new power up that was added doesnt feel very useful. Id like to see more power ups, power ups appearing more frequently, and power ups appearing earlier on in the game.

We found this linked on Reddit and really liked it right away. The tweaks have only made it better. Its a fun little distraction that we can put down after a few tries, but keep coming back to it regularly. Our 1.0 high score was 96 but 1.1 was 161. We do have a couple suggestions going forward: 1. As of 1.1 the 2x power sometimes doesnt come at all into the 50s or 60s and it gets overwhelming. A few times they bunched up and theres no way to store more than 1. 2. The rounded edges sometimes slightly defy logic, especially when hitting between two. We get that its part of the challenge, but consider maybe another mode with bricks of varying roundness? 3. Other modes to consider would be adding bricks that dont stay still. Or perhaps a time mode where bricks come constantly instead of by shot. Lastly (and not to get too deep into powerups) a brick that locks the bottom border for a short time? To let the discs go back up a 2nd time? Just brainstorming.

Worth the purchase of at least one theme. We hope to see updates and more from this dev.

We really never play games on our phone. Any game we usually download gets deleted after a few days. We randomly saw this game posted somewhere on reddit it think and decided to download it. We have played it every single day. Its perfect to pass even the smallest bit of time because you can close the app and open it again an hour later and it kicks right back up. We hope it stays this way. The game is also confidently simple. Theres not a ton of bells and whistles, but thats because it really doesnt need it. Its simple in what it does but it does it really well. Ive definitely recommended it to our friends. Keep up the good work.

Its so simple. Its very fun. We literally have been playing everyday for a week. We are now capping out at 150 consistently. It would be nice if more rewards would start happening when you get to higher numbers. Achievement board would be awesome.

Simple game is addictive. Probably havent showered for a couple of days because of this app.

We are here from the reddit post, and was blown away! Our current high is 72, and we look forward to beating that score.

Ive been addicted to this game the past week so we figure we owe it a 5 star review by now. Very satisfying, very fluid and very fun, we really wish it had a leaderboard though so we would know how our high score of 145 compares to other players.
