It’s rated 4+ and currently has 17+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Football Classics Stand Out

Whether you are a lifelong football fan, completely new to football, bored on your daily commute or if you just want to to play a fun video game, THIS GAME IS FOR EVERYBODY!

Follow the footsteps of the greatest coaches in history, call the right plays and lead your team to victory. Going for it on 4th down to ice the game? Trying an onside kick to start the 2nd half? A long touchdown bomb on 3rd and inches? You can do it all with Football Classics.

You can finally put an end to all the debating. Which is the greatest team in history, 1972 Miami or 2007 Boston? Which is the worst, 2008 Detroit or 2011 Indianapolis? Can the greatest offense from 2013 Denver beat the most dominant defense from 1985 Chicago? Find out with Football Classics.

The game comes with no monthly fees or in-app purchases, it's completely free and you will get all the updates. It currently includes all professional football teams from 1966 to 2019. I will add new teams in the coming years. If you feel the game needs some features, let me know and I will see how to add them.

If you are not familiar with the game of football, this app is a great way to get you started. You can complete a game in about 15 minutes. If you know football but you do not want to bother with setting protections, calling audibles or hot routes, this game was made for you. It is simple but yet challenging!

This Sports game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

We absolutely love that you can play many classic teams in different points of time. That was a huge draw. The arcade-like action with timing your taps is cool and fun. Very enjoyable and challenging. Not any deep historical stats, unfortunately, but that is ok! You can make up your own narrative (commentary) while playing, calling on various players from your favorite teams. Our top 2 are Herman Moore, and (of course) Barry Sanders.

When will there be a new update especially since it doesnt even have the teams from the 2021-22 season or the 2022-23 teams and 2023-24 teams.

Im curious if the timing of the tap matters. Ive played this game many times, randomly tapping at the worst time. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. Its like the timing of the tap does NOT matter. Would like to know if this is true.

When will there be a new update especially since it doesnt even have the teams from the 2021-22 season and hopefully it will also have the 2022-23 teams after the SuperBowl.

Trying to tap to get close to 100% Id impossible. The bar is on light speed. Lost interest after 3 series. That was 2 series too long.

This is a neat little game that offers offensive and defensive play calling and decent performance differentiation among teams. On balance, Ive found the run stats to be high in avg yds per run and the passing game to be a bit stingy with longer gainers. The AI can be off at times, such as the 2007 NYG passing fewer than 10x against the Patriots. Nevertheless we gave this 5 stars because of the fun factor, fast game play, and choice of teams/seasons. If we keep sneaking in an occasional game before hitting the hay, thats a pretty good endorsement.

Love the old school football concept…but absolutely hate the whole tap for success thing. If youre going to have another go at this, Id suggest a allocation system instead. You start at 100% each drive, but must decide how much of your energy to allocate each play.

Waste of money, shouldve looked with more detail before we bought. We knew it was simple with the description but this is absurd, you have no access to roster/strategy/formation/coverage or anything, just general play genre. And the tap system is insulting, it completely ruins the point of a football simulator and turns winning and losing into a glorified reflex test that just generates a football play depending on how high a number you get. Dont waste your money.
