Community Insight:

Please play it so it can stop being dead.

We love the game!!!! It is awesome how you made a game like Rivals of Aethers.

We love this game SO much but we cant ever play real people because theres not enough people so if your reading this please get the fame now. Right now. Get it now.

Best App Store game we have played in a long while.

We had so so so so so much fun on this game.

We absolutely love this game, and we believe it has potential to be like a new Pokmon or something like that. The mechanics of the game are great the creatures look awesome as well. We mean the only real Problem is that you need more creatures, but other than that this game is wonderful and we cant wait to see what updates the creators have in store. PS thank you creators if you do read this we appreciate it.

If you need a game to tickle that strategic itch, Creatures of Aether is an incredible choice. Games are relatively short, but each move carries massive amounts of potential weight. Our only complaint is that Fleets tutorial in the challenge mode is currently unbeatable, as the Pips she has left after playing all other creatures are only enough to tie the Cobbleclaws left number. (we assume this is an oversight that occured due to her numbers nerf.) Making it difficult to get a copy of the Rival. Still, even without fleet, the selection of Rivals, cards, and general strategies in this game makes it worth, at the very least, a try.

We love the game but the loading never loads we only found this problem after we made an account please help us fix it.

In short this game is absolutely amazing its designed well its very well balanced the pvp matches are amazing and you dont feel like ya got scammed when someone uses a money bought character! But then comes the problem there arent a lot of active players so about 98% of your matches will be against bots and we dont mean player made bots we mean in game ai so its less annoying and more just that its way to easyI want a challenge Dang it! LET ME FIGHT ANOTHER PLAYER PLEASE THIS GAME IS AMAZING BUT ITS DEAD!well if you do download this game your first rival needs to be absa shes easily the most powerful of the four starters you can pick.

The one problem this game has is the 20/20 limit we know we cant just make the cards all high numbers but the limit is just a bit short that is the only problem but amazing game overall.

We like the idea of the game and like the way that that the gameplay loop keeps you thinking, but even playing AI we feel like no matter what we play, it always has a card to beat it. We have spent time making a couple stupidly strong 5 star cards that still get swiped every time we play them which makes us feel like it doesnt matter what we have in our deck to have any advantage during the game and the AI is just sitting there with twice as long of a list of things to play against us that will always beat what we just played.

It wont let us play the game past the tutorial and we want to play the game.

The game is great very hard and we like it the only problem is when we use the war horn it doesnt let us place a card and we have to open up the game again so if you could fix this bug we would greatly appreciate it thank you.

This game looked very interesting but we couldnt even get passed the first loading screen very disappointing.

It is so stupid that she says "capture all the enemies to win" in puzzle mode like that's not painfully obvious. To make it worse her text bubble WILL NOT GO AWAY EVER. It's very annoying and distracting trying to focus on our plays when this stupid magic giraffe is just floating up and down like a moron. You know we might want to be able to actually READ our creatures' names. It's ok, we don't expect a meaningful response from you and it wouldn't bring us back onboard anyway. This is a train wreck.

This app is grabbing the contents of the pasteboard / clipboard when it enters the foreground. Avoid.

We cant even make an account and when we try to sign in it says there is no existing account.

We played this game for a year, we got a bunch of emotes, characters, and cards. But all of that was taken away when the was released on steam. When C.O.A. Was released on steam they added a account system so you could play on the same account with your phone and computer but all progress we had on our phone was gone. We played this game since it came and Im sad we dont get to play it anymore.

Its a fun and addictive game but the queue times are way too long to the point where its basically unplayable. We would wait 12 minutes at a time before restarting the queue and would constantly fail to match up with someone.

So great game period but one thing we dont like that you need to pay for some things because we really like a character but it costs money our only complaint.

For some reason that we are not sure why, our game keeps crashing every 5 seconds. The game is fun. It is just annoying that it keeps crashing.

DAN Has out done it again this game is really good and addicting.

We love the core gameplay mechanics, but we think this game has a bit too many paywalls. We bought the season past for Guadua, and shes a really fun and powerful rival, but it seems the only way to get her is with the pass. Also we think its a bit silly to put a limit on how much AP you can earn per day. Clash royale, which as a very similar monetary system doesnt limit that kind of stuff, but keeps the pass rewards as well, still providing incentive to purchase the pass. We do think its easy enough to get new cards without paying so thats good, but its hard to level them up because they cost thousands of coins to level up and its really hard to get coins. We know the game needs to make money but we dont think you need to restrict that much stuff from the players who dont buy the season pass. Also this isnt the games fault but we spend a bit too much time waiting for matches and often face bots. Apart from the micro transactions, its a great game. Its super satisfying to use a rival ability and completely change the match.

As much as we love this game, there so far has been almost no one who plays sadly :( thus making match making a hassle.

Theres so many types of card designs and different abilities its insane. The style is really nice and theres tons of fun game modes. You can make up to ten decks so u can switch in and out of different techniques when wanted. Its a well balanced game with a good currency too.

Rivals has been on of our favorite fighting games ever, so the introduction of a card game sounded too good to be true. Rules and the main mechanics are fleshed out, and the tutorial introduces everything very intuitively. There are some IAPs, but progress thus far seems swift without them. Very great mobile game, and a welcome addition to the Aether Universe. Make sure to download and give it a shot.

Aint this basically triple triad.

This is a pretty fun casual board game with very nice pixel art. Also its free with no ads? Count us in.

If you get a human opponent they can easily cheat and even crash your game. 0/10 this game is garbage.

Imagine rivals of Esther but card. We would pay money to make this an actual card game.

Ive been playing this game for a month and played through two events (rival passes). The game in its current state is very much pay to win and devs leave out important information on updates/game changes (had to find out about most updates and game changes from their discord, important info at times arent posted in patch notes section in-game). The game is also buggy and youll pretty much become the dev teams bug tester (rivals soft-locking matches on release, abilities not working properly and in-active buttons). In addition you have to provide your e-mail and create an account to play. Your data is saved, however they have you e-mail and you cant restart or delete your save unless you make a new account with a different e-mail address or contact the devs directly through discord. As F2P player youll be limited on what you can play and reach a point in the game where youll receive less rewards in comparison to the amount of effort you have to put in to win games. Especially when youre facing higher level players (typically P2W players). Ladder at the beginning is F2P friendly until you leave training mode and actually move up the ladder to mid tier. At that point youll end up playing against players with level 3 cards (or level 4 which is max) and have to deal with level 2 or 3 rivals (As a F2P youll most likely have level 1 or 2 cards while your rival is level 1 or if youre lucky, level 2). Since the player base is low, youll see these player much more often. If you lose often youll will be pit against a bot and the AI will do what it can to throw the match. Its a way to climb up the ladder and get medals/rewards when you reach mid tier, but its incredibly tedious and disappointing. If you win matches and cant find an opponent youll be pit against bots that are slightly harder than the ones that throws (theyll match you card levels along with rarity which is good, whereas the throw bot are level 1 cards). In the game there are dungeons that require currency to play which youll have and receive less of as time goes on if you are F2P. Currently, 25 orbs are required for Quick dungeons (orb amount use to be 10, but the devs changed it). Whereas Elemental dungeons cost 100 orbs and Legendary dungeons require you purchase a rival pass. Quick dungeons have an extremely low chance of giving rival cards, give a small amount of gold and have chests that require they be opened with a key that you can pick up in the dungeon (there is only one key and you have to choose from 3 chests and they give small rewards). Elemental dungeons change elements everyday (Water, Earth, Fire, Wind), have the highest chance of giving a rival card, give you a fair amount of gold, have safes that allow you duplicate/save cards that you get in the dungeon from enemies to add to youre actual deck and the dungeon has boosters packs. Both quick dungeons and elemental dungeons give you pre-made decks that you have use and level up by challenge bots and taking their cards that match yours or replace the cards in your deck with a new card you received from the bot. These dungeons also have a heart system where if you lose all three hearts to the regular AI and/or the boss you fail the dungeon. You get to keep what you found, but will get less rewards and the duplicated cards in the safe in elemental dungeons will not be received. We havent bought a Legendary pass, but according to the info for the rival pass purchase you get a bunch of rewards along with the newly released rival. Last, there is a special dungeon called a plunder dungeon which also has a chance of a rival and has gold as a rewards. However this requires a plunder pass which is a rare free item you can get. Once you get the pass the dungeon is on a timer so youll have to run it as soon as you get it. Also the decks arent pre-made and you use your own deck that you would play in ladder and your cards set max level. Its the best thing you can get as free reward, but its quite rare. AP, an in-game currency used for rival free passes to obtain a rival is limited to 30 pts per day (?) and its inconsistent as to when you can start collecting points again to work towards getting a newly released rival. 3 AP from a match if you win and 1 AP if you lose while players who buy the premium rival pass gain more AP and more rewards from matches. If this review was actually posted and you read this far (congrats), we recommend you wait for the game to update more before playing. The graphics, card designs and effects are amazing for an app game. Its one of the reasons why we still play. There are free rewards in the shop and log-in rewards, but theyre quite small. The log-in streak goal rewards are good although….the first log-in streak goal is 30 days of logging into the game and will increase after you open the 30th log-in reward chest. We will admit to buying the starter pack for this game to try out the starter rivals and in a way donate to the devs because this game looks like it has the potential to be better, but right now its not looking good. Ill be willing to change our review in future if the game gets any better (if Im still playing that is).

We got a new phone so this game works now, and its probably the best mobile game we have. Also a phenomenal strategy game, with no type advantages like Pokmon games but spaces that make your cards have more points. Amazing concept, even better execution.

Great game but its very Pay to win especially since one of the most over powered rivals are stuck behind a pay wall.

Whenever we tap on the info button the entry of the card just collapse rather than expanding a new window showing the info for the card. It makes the game totally unplayable for new users.

We love everything about this game from the concept to the gameplay but when it comes down to it, it still has a lot of bugs. When in game it takes a good chunk of time to find an opponent which is fine but when you get into a match with an opponent you glitch out 15% of the time, also there is a glitch in the reward ladder that doesnt allow you to collect your rewards at a certain point but you can collect them before and after that point. Another thing it is way too time consuming to get more cards and resources, without a getting chests after every win the battle pass type system they have is fine but there needs to be something else besides micro transactions to keep people going. Id absolutely love to see this game blow up but its simply not going to happen with all of these bugs and inconsistencies in play.

Has potential. Fun to play. Stoped playing because we ran into a bug we were unable to report using the app; upon opening a pack it asked us to make a selection but nothing was visible on the screen except the background.

The game is overall solid and reminds us a lot of triple triad from final fantasy. We were hooked immediately and even purchased the rival pass. But the more we played the more bugs we noticed. Such as not receiving rewards and dungeons not forming correctly. We reached out to the devs on discord and Twitter. We were ignored on discord and received one response on Twitter asking what was the issue and our in game name so they could try and fix it. We responded quickly and never heard from them again. Nothing was fixed or made right.

So we guess maybe the ratings are so good because negative reviews are removed or something? But anyways, previously we mentioned that it revolves around PvP, with AI matches for rewards ending really quickly, but it turns out if you get lucky and dont find a match in 30 seconds, you can choose to face an AI opponent, which is one nice thing. Though it still tries to make you buy the Season Pass after pretty much every match, and without the season pass, rewards are severely limited. Also the only half-decent way to earn gold is to spend some premium currency to enter dungeons and have a chance to get some, with one-time Plunder Dungeons available for free from the shop sometimes, which doesnt really make any sense. Also, there are daily Elemental Dungeons that cost over $1 worth of premium currency to enter each time, and if we understand correctly from how they were described in-game, they dont even guarantee rewards if you fail them… Again, a cool idea, but there are much better ones out there that are less expensive in the long run.

This is a great game concept however the home interface is almost identical to Clash Royale which is quite annoying.

In the dungeon we cant get to other rooms besides the first 4 rooms. We cant escape besides saving it. So we are permitted locked out of the average dungeon. Please fix this… This was in the first 2 minutes. Why.

We really like this game but it randomly crashes all the time. No other app that we have does this. It is SUPER annoying. Ughh. Please fix this issue. Its a great game but the constant crashing ruins it.

No real strategy. Just based on reaction . Deck building is better in other games. Pretty much reversi mixed with a twist.

Theres like a password email like thing and like we dont wanna do that can we just be like a guest.

You guys removed the ability to see some rooms in dungeons, but that also keeps you from selecting to go into those rooms. Please fix if possible.

Reminds us of that one card game in skylanders and we dont know why.

We like the game a lot we enjoy little things it has to offer. But for some reason when we log in it locks us on the Home Screen and we cant press or do anything. Ive deleted the game and redownloaded it but it still is locked. Idk if its a bug or our phone.

The graphic and sound design is really good. The game isnt for us though… Its too abstract. Like chess but with numbers. We dont like seeing just numbers in card games and comparing them, thats boring imo. To us, a fun card game is a well designed one thats able to hide all those numbers under the hood. While this might not be for us, theres plenty of others that would enjoy the game.

Another card game with decent mechanics plagued by pay to win. You can face someone with the same deck as you, but if they spent more gold (more money), their deck has better stats. If youre looking for a more free to play friendly card game, we point you to legends of runeterra.

Basic game looks fun. Played the tutorial. Like the graphics and gameplay, but do not like that a third party account is required to play. Let us use our Game Center account or Google account like all other mobile games. Not going to use another account to play. Uninstalled.

We were playing then it just wasnt letting us play we think it said that our deck was overpowered but we think we should still be able to play if our deck is a little powerful.
