What Makes Before Your Eyes Stand Out

Available exclusively for Netflix members.

Embark on an emotional first-person adventure where you control the story — and affect the outcome — with your real-life blinks.

Dive into a world of memories and experience a soul’s journey into the afterlife as your whole life flashes before your eyes.

It all begins after you die. You're aboard the ship of a mysterious man tasked with shepherding souls to the afterlife. To help you pass on, he must learn the story of your life. Then he sends you back to relive your most important moments.

The game uses your device's camera to fully immerse you in the story. Control the flow of the narrative with your real-life eyes – blinking through precious memories of family, first love and the birth of an artistic career. Dare to look deeper and delve into your most repressed memories, where a heartbreaking truth awaits.

Combining an innovative blink-interaction mechanic with a charming world and fully voice-acted story, Before Your Eyes is a deeply emotional and relatable journey — one that explores the impossible expectations we place on ourselves and the regrets we carry with us.

This Simulation game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

The most devastating yet beautiful game Ive ever played. We have played many sad games, but this one, man.

This genuinely felt so beautiful and well written. We dont do this sort of thing – come one here, and write reviews and have an opinion for people to see But, this game seriously made us say, let us come on here and support, we need to say something. It truly spoke to us and sparked unique emotions, we think that this game has great potential. The voice acting couldnt have been more on point, the abstract art and storyline was so incredible, and the story and idea it was trying to get across flowed very smoothly. This is an excellent game. 10/10 recommend for people who love indie games, and games with a hidden, or beautiful meanings. Thank you developers and all of the great people who put work into this masterpiece.

We thought this was just another life simulator, but this was much more than that and is incredibly captivating. If you want a story game with real depth and choices this is for you.

Im not crying our eyes are moistening themselves because we havent blinked in so long.

Hey everyone! This game is just amazing. It works pretty well and its fun and wholesome at the same time. 10/10 recommend.

This game made us start balling and feeling embarrassed but in the end this game makes us appreciate life so much.

This game made us cry at the end. We never thought that we would cry because of a literal game but this is so beautiful. We love it.

Most beautiful story Ive ever hear and seen, genuinely had us in tears and we never cry to movies or games, beautiful masterpiece of a story.

Honest, we dont have any words to describe how much emotion Im dealing with because we just finished the game right now and Im crying because we thought that he was an artist, but in reality he died young and he didnt even get to say goodbye to his family or Chloe.

Genuinely such a beautiful and emotional game. We dont write reviews for games but sat through the credits of this one just sobbing. We cried at many different points in this game, and its so heartwarming to see its beautiful end. The artwork and atmosphere are a bonus to the wonderful storytelling and sound design. Phenomenal work all around and 100% recommend a play through or two.

We love this game it made us cry and we dont cry a lot so the means a lot about this game Wow what a game man beautiful. 2025.

Looking at the reviews for mobile players we were skeptical. But after watching videos of others playing on it. We ended up wanted the game more than ever. Lots of the reviews said that the quality of the game was either bad or better on PC. Cause it is. Well the quality is way better on a PC. But being a mobile player this game was not bad. And we enjoyed it so much! No lag or problems. If your game says disconnected from the location of your eye. Just make sure ur not covering your camera. But over all this game is amazing. Would play again.

We downloaded so many games from Netflix just cause we were interested to see what they had and for some reason today we were like Im gonna play this game and oh our gosh expect to cry tbh.

We saw a streamer play this and thought it was just a silly little blink game. We were SO wrong. This games beautiful.

It was such a beautiful game with really beautiful graphics. The storyline was unique and entertaining and the plot twist had us crying. Very immersive experience.Overall amazing game.

The game is beautifully animated. The storytelling is great! The ending is heartbreaking in all the good ways. We only got one ending (out of what we assume is more), so we are replaying to see if there are others or new information on Ben.

As a 14 year old teen we can say this game came with a mix of emotions. We surely cried at the end. This kind of helped with the fear of death and other things he but the story behind this game is amazing.

How are you supposed to play with tears flooding from your eyes.

This is one of those games that completely changes your outlook on life. We think we had seen something about it months before and when we saw it on the Netflix homepage, we decided to give it a play. It really made us slow down and try to savor every moment given, we really enjoyed that. It is most definitely worth your time. We didnt know that there were multiple endings, we will have to replay it soon and see where our decisions take us. Thanks to the devs, you really made our day by making this beautiful game.

Life will pass before your eyes if you live it or not. So live your life its not about being smart remembered its about the way you feel after it all. We love your story keep writing it.

We found this game on Netflix and didnt know what to expect, we thought it was cool that you could play with just blinking! As we continued to play, we realized there was more to this than just going through someones life. As we played through it the second time after the twist we almost wanted to cry, it was honestly amazing. Im shocked and honestly wonder how long it took to make this! P.S. One thing we will note is the blinking doesnt register sometimes even if it was calibrated correctly.

Not what we expected but its an absolutely awesome game we loved every part of it especially how it really immerses you with the blinking we wish there were more games like this.

We wish to forget this game so we can find it again later and play for the first time again.

We love this game the animation is not bad we can tell they used body tracking for the animations, and the blinking to control the game is great the story is full of lore and you have a feeling that you are really part of it when playing it, there are some bugs with the eye tracking but its a great game.

Amazing indie game it was so good not like other games that dont put in any effort but this game changes the way you play you use your eyes to progress your character it was amazing.

We were not expecting the twist at the end but was an amazing game. We started it because we loved the art style, but stayed for the story. It was a bit hard with the blink feature at the end because we were crying so hard.

Best game we think Ive played on our phone, great concept.

We got the game not knowing how often it would make us cray and appreciate our life so far and what it could be. Ive learned so much from this little game and highly, highly suggest it ( if you dont mind tearing up ;) ) our best wishes to the devs and other players.

This game has such an amazing concept. Its on the short side but the creators do such a great job making you feel like youre part of the story. Left us crying like a baby.

Just when you feel like the game overstays its welcome it completely surprises you.

The saddest game Ive ever played.

Where to start first off this game never fails to make us cry played 2x and cried 2x and watched a streamer played and cried again what a game makes u really appreciate life.

This game was very fun although we felt as if it was to short of a life. The game would be a lot better if you could grow the old.

This was really entertaining and emotional actually. We really enjoyed it and the story line. We do wish there were more stories and characters to be besides the main one right now and the animation. But besides all that we think we started crying a bit. It was really cool and interesting. We enjoyed it a lot, highly recommend it.

Our friend showed us this game but only the part before the sad stuff she said that it wasnt too scary but we forgot we were a sensitive kid so we played it got to the part that our friend didnt show us and then the wolf guy started yelling at us and we were nervous and we were like what do you mean we lied about our life and then thats when we realized that it was scarier than we thought anyways we loved this game, but do not recommend it for sensitive kids unless you want to get over your fear. Bye.

The story of this game is absolutely beautiful, we love it and we were so excited to learn we could play it on mobile. However, we can not use the blink detection as when it turns on it only uses our front facing camera, recording whats it front of us rather than our face. We love the game and would love to play it for ourselves.

The game is very good. It a very unique mechanic and the writing is very good. But this port is god awful for the most part. Like the pc version is better in every way. We can tell right off the bat the graphics are better, it runs buttery smooth, and the game hasnt crashed on us yet. Which is a lot to say about this port. TLDR. If you have no other way, its free and the iPhone has a built in camera and maybe it runs better on more modern iPhones that arent the 13 pro but honestly if you want to enjoy this game we recommend you play it on pc if you can.

Can some one PLEASE tell us why the sound wont work PLEASE.

Well, ok, the mechanics are interesting. But this dog-Charon character yammers on forever before the game starts. And then its just a story with a unique way to turn the pages. Theres no game play at all. Not for us.

Why would a game specifically revolved around the users blinking use only the back camera? We were so excited.

We are ugly crying rn, this game is eerily familiar to our own life, and it hit a note inside us that has us in a full on cry session. Bravo.

We played this game not thinking it would be anything other than a choices matter game. That your choices determined the next event and only that. We were not prepared for the twist and struggled to keep our eyes from blinking during the end scenes because we were crying so hard. Beautiful and brilliant game. We would love to see more like this.

Was very submersive saddest thing Ive experienced. Great story telling.

The story line of this game was so beautiful and an emotional roller coaster. Some parts were a bit challenging such as keeping your eyes open for long periods of time, but the game adapted to how long you could keep your eyes open over time. It was a short game, but beautifully created.

The whole story is beautiful and with the gameplay blends well making you think of this life the protagonist has had and accepting it in the end finding peace.

We have sickle cell and deal with chronic pain on a day to day basis, we remember going through exactly what Ben was going through. We cried playing this game because we felt seen and heard, it showed us so many perspectives and gave us some hope that things will be alright. This was the most beautiful and touching game Ive played, thank you to the creator and those who spent time on it. <3.

We dont normally write reviews, but this game was so emotional, and if youve been hesitating or debating on whether to download it, then you definitely should! We had a little difficulty with the blinking mechanic (which, however, can be easily turned off), and you should also be aware that there are no save options. There are chapters in which you can select to start playing from a certain part of the story, but it is often not where you last left off, leading you to sit through the same parts more than once, which can be inconvenient. Because of this, Id recommend you play the whole game (which takes one and a half hours) in one sitting, but other than that, we highly enjoyed it! It has a beautiful narrative that shows both the internal and external struggles that the protagonista young boy named Benjaminfaces. It really gets you thinking about your own life and mortality, and that your worth as a person isnt determined by how much you have or havent been able to accomplish (something which Benjamin comes to eventually realize after feeling the need to lie about who he really was), with one of our favorite lines from the end of the game being (SPOILER ALERT) So when he was going to go, he was okay…because he'd already lived a great life. A full life. And he was everything he needed to be. Just as he was. That line really spoke to us, and this was the first game in a while to almost make us cry. :,) we could write much more, but this review has already been long enough, and we think that anyone who has read this has got the point, haha.

Such a beautiful story. Our head hurts from crying.

Game made us sob but overall its a really nice game. One of those relaxing games where you can make decisions.

This game made us cry. So beautiful.
