Almost. Needs one feature. Need the ability to turn off all sound, not just the music. We would like to play while listening to a podcast or a book without the sound effects, though they are thankfully minimal compared to the ridiculous ones on competitors versions.
Great app, it was worth it for us to pay the one dollar for no ads. We love it and use it often. However, we would LOVE to see: – option to silence clicks/sound fx – option to turn on/off a grid on the background of the blocks, makes it easier to see spaces. – not sure if this is possible but it would be nice to have the ability to make the blocks the tetris colors (yellow o, blue j, orange L, red z, green s, purple T, cyan tetris…).
NO ads. NO incessant requests for reviews. Does it reset your level to 1 if you close and reopen it? Yes. This is exactly the behavior you would get if you walked into the arcade and put a quarter in the machine. If you want to play with the sound completely off, put your phone on silent and detach headphones. If you want sound effects but no background music, go in the settings and uncheck music. Hate the color scheme? Change it! Want to play with buttons instead of swipe? You got it. The only option we would add is some kind of continuous mode where the speed stays constant and the level gets pushed down – like a pez dispenser – so that we dont have to feel anxious about losing. We mainly play while processing trauma if Im away from therapy and have a painful flashback. Developer: your app is worth more than $0.99! Thank you.
Please fix the iPad app icon and the high score bug other than that this is perfect.
Its not modern Tetris, no hold, no bag randomizer Id pay more for a few more modes. The underlying infrastructure is there. This is a welcomed addition to Tetris on iOS but dont listen to the other reviews that suggest this is a replacement for the modern Tetris app, that this is not.
This is what you're looking for if you've been disappointed by the other trashy obnoxious versions out there. Just pay the buck. It's so worth it. It's the only real version out there that isn't some abomination of the concept. We see that some of the reviews knock it for not saving a high score, but whatever. It's the only thing real "Tetris" in the app store.
This is exactly what we were hoping to find. Its a clean, simple Tetris game. No in app purchases, annoying mobile game mechanics or advertisements. Game looks and runs great, the few settings are perfect. If you just want to play Tetris without a bunch of noise, this is the one.
We concur with a lot of the comments here. Its clean. Its not full of bloatware. And its Tetris. The only complaints Ive got are about the lack of polish. For example, theres no animation for eliminating rows. Also, insta failing at the top with no grace is a bit annoying. A lot of other apps handle that a bit better. But yeah- its what we wanted. We dont want any bloat! Im happy for ad free, simple Tetris. Thank you.
We wish you could turn the sound off. We like to play while Im listening to our book. Please make it possible with an update.
No ads, no gimmicks just simple Tetris. We enjoy the old school feel. However 3 things could really be better: 1. There is no way to save a high score against yourself. You just start over. 2. As with all touch screens once the level gets fast with no haptic response you cannot accurately move or rotate the pieces. 3. Also in all our Tetris playing this version really seems to have too many of the same piece in a row. Perhaps it is truly random and not adjusted to human perception of fair, but it can be frustrating waiting for the Tetris to fall. All that said, it does what it says. Only Tetris.
But please give us handling controls! And hard drop on quick swipes.
Straight up Tetris, no adds, no extra stuff that nobody asked for like the official Tetris mobile game has. We can play it offline without problem. Thank you, it was worth the buck.
The official Tetris app used to be our go to for on the go Tetris, but ever since they changed owners and updated it its been nothing but ads and bloat and playing it was a miserable experience. This game brings back what we miss about the original app, just clean and fast Tetris whenever we feel like playing. Its not too flashy, but thats okay. Its just Tetris and thats all it needs to be. We agree with other people that it needs a way to save your high score, but Id also like to see a way to save blocks for later like in modern Tetris versions. Other than that, this is worth the money if you want Tetris without all of the extra stuff.
Its the simple game we want without ads or weird alterations. But, you cant turn off the sound effects and it doesnt remember your score. Two small changes would make it.

We wish we could see our high scores or know if we set a new personal best! Also doesnt seem to score combos or anything. But otherwise great, no ads, simple.
Please please add a volume slider for the sound effects and a way to adjust the sensitivity and maybe ways to just input your own colors for the themes.
The controls are too sensitive and arent implemented aswell as the official Tetris app, high score isnt saved, and theres no slot to save blocks for later. It IS okay, its nice to play quickly, but other than that it could be much better.
Ill admit that Im used to the controls of the official Tetris app, but the controls of this app NEED work. Otherwise, we LOVE the simplicity and lack of features. This is so close to being perfect for our wants in a Tetris app. Specific gripes: 1. All controls are too sensitive 2. Its very hard to rotate into specific spaces at high levels (level 10 is unplayable to us), partly due to the sensitivity 3. Adding a sensitivity slider bar would be a great solution imo.
Its Tetris, no annoying ads but its .99 so would kind of expect it The biggest issue compared to other Tetris is the block generation. Consistently get 5+ duplicate blocks in a row. Just annoying and kind of kills the fun.
Basic no options Tetris as you expect, but our top issues are 1. The fact that you can silence the music but not the sound effects, 2. The sensitivity sometimes is too glitchy or too sensitive for us and itll drop blocks while Im turning them – ability to adjust tap sensitivity would be a helpful accessibility feature, and 3. Game mode options. We dont think the sole game mode is random and being able to play different modes (random, challenge, marathon) would he nice.
In this version when we swipe and hold to make the block go down faster it places the block instantly so we cant slide it into the space we wanted it to go. There is no control at all. We barely swiped and it instantly placed it. We also prefer being able to swap and save tetrimimos but cant.
We love the simple game but PLEASE let us get rid of the ghost piece! We can barely play the game with the ghost piece there and the settings dont seem to let us turn it off.
The game is alright for 99 cents it would be very great if the responsiveness of how you place the blocks arent all over the place and a high score saver is definitely a must for this.
Love the simplicity of the app and UX. Only wish it kept a high score. Other than that, its definitely worth the .99 to not have ads or in app purchases.
Dont buy it, trash controls that dont play right.
There is no option to completely turn the sound off of the game. It is a game we use when we are overwhelmed and often listening to music to try to calm ourselves and is completely useless because you cannot turn off the sounds of the pieces moving on the board.
Its unable to drag down and swipe, so you cant insert blocks into empty space. We gave it one star for not having obnoxious ads.
Like the game, but controlling with the touch screen is awful. Parts are constantly going in places we didnt put them as we try to rapidly get them down the screen. And the onscreen control option doesnt allow a fast drop either.
Music isnt original Tetris music. Sounds more like space spa music. We really enjoy how simple it is but we were looking forward to the soundtrack we all love.
