Fun game that is a good alternative to doom scrolling on social media. Sometimes words that are words arent accepted. We do hope they make the bolder words that are panagrams more visible when looking at the previous days answers. Ive been telling our friends and family to play.
You can choose Daily Games or Practice Games. The game keeps a list of words you find for each game, plus Stats for all your games. The ads are not too often, nor are they intrusive. We do think the games Dictionary needs to be expanded, but all in all, this is a great game. Kudos to the developer.
We enjoy this game very much. Its not as esay as most games of this type.
We appreciate that we dont have to subscribe to NYT to get this game, but theres words missing such as poppy on 10/27/24. Its literally the CA state flower. Again on 10/29/25 – when we entered liminal and liminality, the app said not found.
Probably closest you can get for practicing Spelling Bee for free. Two things we would do to improve: 1 – make a hint grid generator like NYT makes for each one of their puzzles. That way we can see what letter and word length combos we have left. 2 – come up with a standard dictionary. Some of the words in NYT arent accepted. Some are. Id really prefer if its consistent. Ill keep practicing here until something better comes along.
App is good but some words dont get accepted that are definitely real dictionary words; there should be an in-app feedback option for when this happens.
Im really enjoying the game, but we would like a one time payment option to remove ads, and would like the hint sheet to be available in the app. Will change our rating to 5 stars if these changes are made.
The app is good we enjoy it, however we really wish the hints sheet that is available on the website was available on the app as well. Some very common words wont be in the system which is fine except, we find ourselves missing one or two words for the day just to see the next day that they were not even words (Dding???). So yeah we like the app but please add the hints sheet that is on the website, thanks.
This game is fun. We used to play this game on paper with our mom as a kid. However, some very common words are often not in the puzzle, yet, even though the rules say abbreviations are not accepted, there are many pieces of words in the solutions of the puzzle the following day that are not commonly used abbreviations. Like chem for example. So 4 stars for the fun, but the programmers have a little work to do.
They dont always have all the legit words in their answers.
We have noticed some words the app will not accept for instance the wordpincher . It wont take it for some reason l. It is a legit word and Ive had other words that have been declined as well. Should do an update on the app.
Have to start again after coming back to a puzzle in-progress because the app loses what's been played so far. This doesn't always happen, but often enough to be a pain.
This app is annoying. It doesnt recognize legitimate words in common usage, such as dildo.
Its fun and the ads are much easier to skip. But its frustrating as it doesnt know quite a few fairly common words.
It drops words in the yesterday stats.
Im obsessed with this game and usually play on the website. Glad there is an app now but cant you bring back the hexagonal letter boxes and the bee colors.
We have been enjoying the game except every now and then it will randomly wipe out all your records and reset everything which is quite frustrating.
We enjoy this game but its near impossible to win. PLEASE remove Dded from the game. It is NOT a word according to dictionary.com. Also, we were not able to do the word chia or chias. There are a number of other words but we can only remember those for now.
A googol is 10 to the 100 number. It is 1 followed by 100 zeros. It should be on the list.
Ive been playing for ten minutes. There are so many words that are not found that are real words. We will be deleting this app shortly.
Fun app but loses track of previous played games. We deleted the app and added it again hoping it would fix the bug but did the same thing the next week.
What dictionary is being used to provide words? There are SO MANY words we enter that are included in other spelling bee games, which in your game show as word not found. Acai, anion, canna, e.g.,common in all other games.
A fun game, but some bug keeps wiping out any progress you make during the day. Cant keep stats more than a few hours.
This app is okay for a spelling bee alternative, not the best though. We noticed it loses our history of the daily game when we want to check the answers the next day. And we dont like that it doesnt give any hints.

Bored use this app so fun and keeps u busy.
Game was enjoyable until we noticed all found words werent recorded daily and the ad banner at the bottom of the screen is too easy to click by mistake, causing web pages to open. Last straw? All stats wiped along with yesterdays progress, including the title word.
We like the app, easy to use. But could use a Hint feature.
We have on several occasions that same letters were used two days in a row. We have also found that correct words are missing from the dictionary.
We only just started this and already we dont like it. It should list the words you got right in a column to the right (or left) so you dont have to click the down arrow to see the words you already got. How hard would that be? Why make it so user unfriendly.
Dictionary needs major updating.
- Add option to customize shape of tiles (hexagonal like the icon and web version) choice of different fonts and sizes, theyre a little small on iPad color themes and/or user specified tile, font, background colors.
