Description

This Professional RC Helicopter Simulator is a must have for anyone flying RC. The models fly like real RC helicopters, and can be used to learn to fly and to improve your flying. A lot of fun for not much money! Any helicopter crash cost many times more, and you will be able to fly in the rc simulator no matter what is the weather outside!

Get 12 models and 3 landscapes with this value pack edition of our Absolute RC Heli Sim, for big savings compared to buying them one by one. In addition to the included content, you can still buy extra models if needed. As free bonus, we added free coaxial helicopter and fast RC boat.

The app includes the following free models:

Helicopters:

Blast CX – beginner coaxial model, self leveling and stable, good for making your first steps.
Bell 47 – big high quality scale model
Twister Coast Guard – scale coaxial model, for beginner to intermediate flyer.
TRex 450 – collective pitch electric helicopter. Very hard to learn, if you fly this one, you can fly them all. We have included beginner setup, in addition to settings for intermediate and advanced 3d fliers.
C46 Sea Knight – twin rotor scale electric helicopter with collective pitch. It is a big model that flies in scale like fashion.
Racing Drone – FPV racing quadcopter

Planes:

Advantage – high wing electric trainer
Aquila – fast low wing electric sports plane

Boats and Cars:
Rage 2WD – fast car
Lego – good running Lego style car
Rebel – Electric boat
Easy Cat – Fast catamaran

The program includes 3 flying fields and number of boat and car fields:

Osage Park
Tangamanga
Island Fliers

In addition to the fixed point camera that represents the RC pilot point of view, we have included follow up camera that allows for walking behind the model. That is useful when you just start, so the model never gets away.

Please try our full featured professional RC flight simulator ClearView for PC here: http://rcflightsim.com

Notes:

  1. This is not a game. You are controlling flying RC models that reacts like real flying models. It takes some time to learn, and again, do not expect "arcade" style controls.
  2. The onscreen control sticks are just indicators! They are made small so they do not obscure the screen.

*** You do not need to keep your fingers on them ***

Sliding your finger anywhere on the right screen half affects the right control stick , the same for the left screen part – sliding finger there moves the left control stick.

We suggest selecting beginner settings at first few days before you can comfortably progress further.

Updated on 16th May 2020

Open model format (OBJ) added for user created models.

Absolute RC Heli Simulator Reviews

Purchased this app along with an extra helicopter model. The sound doesnt always work in this app and it just isnt that great of an app. Sometimes the plane or helicopter just decides to freak out. We want a refund please.

We flew real R/C helis from tiny electrics to 60 and 90 size glow plus a Bell Ranger scale 60 machine. That was 25-30 years ago. We also finished 1st – Sportsman, 1988 Nats, 2nd – Expert, 1989 Nats and 1st – Masters, 1990 Nats in Pattern Fixed wing Aerobatics. Since then a busy career took us away from R/C but we got back into helis a few years ago. This app is amazing considering the price! The sim action in expert mode is very real and can give you hours and hours of safe practice. Beginners can fly safely with AP mode on while getting the basics understood in all orientations. Our compliments to the developers on doing a great job! James McMasters Irving, Texas.

We fly real rc helicopters. The sim with no autopilot turned on is about like flying without a gyro. With expert mode ap on, its pretty close to a modern rc Heli. Needs more control over on screen controls like expo, etc. Pretty good for the price though. Add on heli models should be priced lower in our opinion. $1 each would work.

The last update(feb/09/16) stoped our model planes from loading except one! Please fix or give refund. It was the auto pilot update.

Very limited, less customizable than many other sims. Disappointed we spent $5 on it.

It’s a good sim considering on-screen control sticks. It’s great for learning orientation, especially while flying a helicopter upside down. This is good on iPhone 6(somehow) and up and iPads. We think iPhone 4 and 5 are too small to see things on the screen.

This simulator is in need of refinement , the controls are horrible no accuracy and very twitchy. Settings are limited and even setting it to the lowest setting it doesn’t work right . This is coming from someone that actually flys collective pitch helicopters . Worst 5 bucks we spent , do not recommend this app.

We’ve got every heli sim for iOS as of this review. This is by far the most realistic complete sim yet. They have done a great job! All of the negative reviews are baseless in this current version. Only thing we may suggest is user adjustable multi point throttle and pitch curves, servo extent adjustments, and in flight flight mode toggle for advanced users. Also works with MFI controllers now too! Keep up the good work! PS. Through in some micro CP birds!

As an RC heli flyer of both electric and gas helis we will say the physics in this app is pretty close to what we would expect from a virtual flying app. That being said it still needs a bit of work. Going through each of the Helis in just the start up pack that comes with this purchase…. – The coast guard helis tail rotor doesn’t spin. (Just a picky thing we noticed but wanted to let the developers know it’s there) – the CH-46 needs a little work on the physics engine. We have a model Ch-46 and understand very well how it flys. In this app however when turning their is way too much throw in the joystick to turn ratio. The smallest increments in joystick movement make this model spin way more then it should. – the small viewfinder at the bottom which shows a zoomed in view seems to glitch out a lot on us. Randomly it goes black and then turns back on. Sometimes the model stays present but the environment behind it goes black. That’s while flying close (I noticed it goes black when you get far away from view as well) – the follow view camera seems really odd. We get why they had to make the ground endless as the fixed camera is just a stitched 360 image however there needs to be a new way to make the follow camera work. It would be a neat little feature to fly behind the model but not at its current state. That mode needs more development. Maybe just create an entire 3D world to fly through? Rather then an image with a never ending ground pattern. – When trying to fly in 3D or at least enter into a 3D position we have to release our throttle up stick in order to activate our idle up switch. Usually this results in a crash if we’re low to the ground because of releasing the throttle. Not sure why the throttle up switch isn’t active to hit at all times like on our actual Dxi6 receiver. Anyway if the physics engine continues to improve we will gladly give 5 stars but until then we have to be a harsh critic and say 3 stars is where we’re at. Also we wish more fields and models were unlocked for $5. We hate in app purchase and don’t really care for forking out more money when we already paid for the app. It would be nice if the next update provided a few extra complimentary models and maps. Just a thought though. We definitely do understand that months and maybe even years of development went into the creation of this app and it we greatly respect that hard work. We just wish more came with the $5 purchase.

$5 for a RC Helicopter simulator with real controls, decent graphics and physics. Learning collective pitch flying through this company’s simulator software will cost at minimum $2.99. Better to spend 2 more dollars for a few more extras. There aren’t any great phone RC simulators out there, but I’d say this app is on its way.

We bought this app to learn how to fly a blade 450X. We started to practice on the simulator with the Trex 450 and let us tell you it was hard at first but little by little we got a little better and know we could go out side and hover our blade 450X with no problem thanks to this app. The controls are exactly the same as a real rc heli we recommend this app better then paying 400 for a new heli…

This is a reasonably good heli sim, much better than anything else on the App Store. The new version has made some changes – appears that the tail is much more sensitive than previous versions (too sensitive). Would be better if it remembered heli, field, rates and view selections from previous play. Would also be great if it had a custom rate setting for user transmitter adjustments, gain, expo: that would go a long way to be able to make it much more realistic.

It’s a good sim. Not like the real thing but light-years ahead of everything else on the App Store. We have one thing that might improve the 3d characteristics. At low throttle, the RPM is lowered like it would for take off; but when you try to flip inverted or hover, you loose lift because of the lower head speed. So if the throttle was going at 100% the whole time like on a real heli, 3d would us much more manageable. We hope you can fix this problem and hopefully incorporate our idea into the next update. Thanks and keep up the good work!!

The Heli fields should be interchangeable with the plane fields.

We upgraded it and it had new helicopters and we didn’t get any of the new helicopters.

This is not for 3d heli work!!! They state it is,but you cannot roll,invert,loop.. False claims!!!!! Waste of money!!!!

Where are our 2 purchases? We’re missing the CH-46 and the USCG electric Jayhawk! Your app says "coming soon", but these are a/c that we bought and flew previously. What’s the deal???

The title says it all. Don’t buy it. It’s a complete waste of money.

We wish we could get our money back.

Purchased this app in the full version this morning for 4.99. Had really enjoyed playing with it. Came back this afternoon to play and it is like we have the free version. None of the helis and planes we had before are available. We tried using the Restore Purchase feature but nothing has happened. WTH! Don’t waste you money on this app just to get ripped off.

Should add a few quadracopters.

We love this simulator , the best for iOS !!!

This is a realistic flight sim for rc. Its great for practicing heli maneuvers any time.

This is a great way to get flight time and learn without risk to actual RC equipment. Very realistic.

Please fix the problem were it kicks us out from the game FREQUENTLY if so it’s the best rc realistic flying app yet.

Please make more helicopters in the sim it kinda bores us sometimes but otherwise amazing graphics and just awesome game!

Real fun but keeps on crashing.

The flight characteristics are not realistic. There is good potential here but it’s not there yet.

We used to love this. It’s been on our iPad for months. Unfortunately, the best feature (knocking water bottles down) has disappeared without a trace. Now it’s just boring.

Hello! If anybody is interested in an app that is the most realistic simulator it would have to be this app. There is a bug though. It doesn’t allow us to select the other helicopters. If you could fix that it would be the best app in the App Store!

We didn’t survey for ‘best’ simulator. With that said the RC controls and helicopter physics are pretty much what we’re used to in real life. That it plays on an iPhone in airplane mode is amazing. We’re taking it with us around Europe. The only dumb thing is you can’t save your custom configuration. After wiping memory you’ve got to set it up all over again. Nit picky, still, dumb. Recommended for realistic action.

We are a RC enthusiast and we are addicted to this game. We love it. We just purchased ALL of the heli’s. Truly life like withe fantastic graphics!!!!

We really love this app. We’re an RC model helicopter and plane enthusiast and this app has saved us as we practice on here before a real flight. Well worth the money for other models. We had a problem downloading a model and they responded within an hour on how to solve the problem(delete the app on the device and reload it and restore purchases, simple!) we’re hooked. Hope they keep coming out with new models and flying areas in all modes.

The next update should be speed boats.

Boat would be understandable if and only if there were water borne helis.

This app is fun to play but quite expensive for what you get.

Good app so far. Please add a FP helicopter such as our Blade 120SR. There’s one in the pro version.

Works really good for touchscreen controls. Left an awesome review with the last update.. Guess it got lost. Short and sweet; works very well as a simulator. Other models are expensive (IAP) but pretty good.

This 4-channel RC Helicopter sim (also does planes and boats with in-app purchase) is a nice little escape when you need a quick afternoon break from reality. Simple, straight to the point, and very beginner friendly. Also entertaining for advanced flyers and enthusiasts alike. The developers even threw in some optional interactive objects such as tables, boxes, and jars that you can push around or land on. Physics are close enough that it can help you practice, but given that its a touch screen and lacks the ability to interface with an actual transmitter, don’t expect this to be anything like Phoenix, RealFlight, or ClearView. The only complaint that we have is that the yaw (rudder) sensitivity is always either too high or too low. Whereas the elevator/aileron control seems pretty much spot on. (I think that might be solvable if they added user options for customizing the control input sensitivity.) All-in-all, this truly is a fine little pocket sized, RC simulator. If you are unable to fly the real thing for some reason or another, you now can get your ‘fix’ wherever and whenever you need it!

Pretty good for an iPhone/ipad simulator. We wish more models were included in the base cost. You could spend a fortune buying all the models. Maybe a $9.99 version that includes all fields and all models?

This game never worked we want our money back.

Considering that we’re using an iPad 2 we would consider this an excellent app both in terms of how it compares to flying the real thing as well as how it compares to pc based simulators. The Trex 450 set on high control rate has nearly identical physics to our actual cp heli. We would however like to see the ability to select wind and thermal conditions. Additional cp models would be nice as well. Version Update: Ask and you shall receive! Thank you! (New models and wind settings were added). We can’t imagine how anyone who flys the real deal can not consider this the best simulator available! We actually like it better than our pc based simulators for the simple reason that having it on our iPad 2 means we practice far more frequently (in fact we realized our pc radio controller is getting pretty dusty as we’ve been using this app for almost three months). Already seeing marked improvement when we go out to fly. As far as app performance goes we honestly don’t think it has crashed once on us. You’ve got a fan here! If you’re learning to fly rc helicopters GET THIS APP! Negative reviewers are likely expecting a video game rather than an actual simulator. We highly recommend ignoring any review bashing this app for its lack of planes, cars or sensitive controls. News flash… You’re learning to fly an rc helicopter and if you think this app is sensitive try flying an actual collective pitch rc heli (better learn how to repair and trim it first though)! Regarding cost we paid around $200 for our favorite pc based simulator. Incidentally we have zero affiliation with anyone connected with the creation of this app…. It’s just that good!

Works fine, good for orientation training and sports flying. Now if somebody would please make us a bluetooth TX to hook up so we don’t have to use the annoying on screen controls.

Got the free app. Tried it. Liked it. Clicked more n followed the link to the additional helis n locations. Except its a separate app n doesn’t have our other helis we bought in the free version. False advertising n did not deliver what was promised. The sim is pretty good though. The tail is too sensitive. There needs to be more heli options like the pc program. ** The app has been updated! We actually used this app to get up the balls to fly our Blade mCP X inverted. It was easier flying the real heli but we were able to learn the mechanics and get some experience to save us from a bad crash, well worth the investment. It’s not a perfect app, but we do believe it is the best rc heli sim in the App Store at any price. Try the free app. ALSO we think the rudder/yaw has been slowed and made more realistic. The app programmer is listening and making updates, keep it up!

Almost like playing the computer one Lovett five dollars is too much though.

Sim wise it’s completely unrealistic and the tail is way too sensitive. This is not a sim to train you for actual flight. App wise it’s just as bad. The game now freezes at the loading screen. This app was made by amateurs as far as coding. All around it’s a waste of money.

Please make app preference to set defaults for each heli. Now has camera views and one new heli. Good start. Keep the updates coming. OK for orientation practice and function. Just learning collective pitch heli. Need some practice. Please add zoom feature. (zoom now added) Wind control for more realistic control. More Heli choices.
