We mean the title in the best way possible. Of all the afk games and gacha styles out there in the wilds now. We still find this one to be a little gem in the rough. Its fun, doesnt require too much effort to keep up or to catch up! And if youre one to spend money on it, youll get ahead but thats up to you ya know? Its fun either way.
This is better than genshin impact because of its character design, how you can customize your character, and its not a constant repeat of a character or its gameplay. Not only that but unlike Genshin you cant really customize anything or see any variation, only but its constant repetition. Plus, genshin its just.. Full of whiteness. Not saying its bad but there are certain characters that are based off our state/country and theyre usually dark skinned, but genshin makes them paper white. So its refreshing to see some gameplay like this even though its not an open-world experience.
The game is great. However, it crashed pretty often over the year or so Ive played it, but now its so bad it crashes every time we start a battle.
If you are expecting something you can casually enjoy its not this. AFK is just its association to its other game. This one expects you to spend hours grinding dumb random events for ranked rewards. If you dont spend hours, or money, dont expect to be high ranking. They also lack any balancing(assuming intentional) literally pitting servers with teams that have paragon 4 of almost all characters. Just not fun outside of story content. Waiting out a hero pre-order bonus before we delete.
Every time we join their loading screen stops at 50 and doesnt load anymore please help.
The game is great! We like the storyline and all that, it really out competes other games with a boring storyline, we like the fighting styles and all that, we just hope there will be a romance storyline it might sound cliche but its something we would love to see in the storyline maybe make separate storys that dive off from the main storyline. Either way we love the game just really hoped there would have been some romance :(. Visuals and animations are really clean to.

We really love AFK Journey, and Im incredibly happy with the collaboration with Delicious in Dungeon (dungeon Meshi). The integration is flawless: seeing characters like Laios and Marcille enter the world of Esperia bringing that dungeon-crawling vibe mixed with monster cooking made the experience even more immersive. The addition of the cooking system, where gathered ingredients turn into dishes that give battle bonuses, is brilliant and adds a great extra layer of strategy. Congrats to the developers for the attention to detail and for staying faithful to the spirit of the anime. We cant wait for future collaborations; this event just reinforces why AFK Journey is one of our favorite games.
We got this game awhile back, and we absolutely loved it. Not only are the character designs great, but the worldbuilding and storyline are well-paced and excellently written. Our one problem is that as we have a smaller phone, it really couldnt handle a game this big. We ended up having to delete it, and getting it on our laptop instead. Overall great game if you have a great phone.

We absolutely love the style of the game, the scenery and the characters are designed so prettily! And we LOVEEE the fact that theres voicing instead of us having to read it and they say one or two things. We absolutely love this game.

We started Nov 1st and already maxed out our characters and finished the main and all sides quests. Just finishing up maxing out gear. And catching the remainder of the fish. Awesome game. Homestead is awesome also so many customizations for your Base. We literally play 24/7 lol.
Game of the year if romance can be introduced.
They recently added a daily limit to the AFK stages and updated Dura's Trials so that you can't skip any stages (maybe you still can, we're not sure). We love the game, but some of the decisions being made are questionable and we wish the AFK stages and Dura's Trials were back to what they were before. Update: Dura's Trials can still be skipped, updated our review.
We love the game. We have played it since its inception however we have a low end 64 gb) phone and we had to remove every other game and photos to get AFK Journey on our phone. This update we have had to completely remove and reinstall the app to get the update. We wish the storage space was optimized better. We love the content and game play.
It suffers from same thing all gachas do: a million menus, systems, and currencies. We can't speak much to the gameplay since we didn't get far and we're not willing to play much longer.
Downloaded this to play during free time, the gameplay is good and the story is interesting but to get any power in this game or get far, you have to pay to do so.
Crashes constantly right now on Supreme Arena. If your phone starts to warm a little it just appears crashes immediately and only in that mode. The gameplay has shifted from a good mix of styles to meta chasing too. Music and story is nice but if you ever have to deal with their customer service, they are scummy at best. Just nasty. Definitely Asian ran and greedy for every penny. If you load it up on PC, the game experience is much better and it doesnt overheat your phone constantly.
This game is fun and all but all of a sudden we've been kicked out of the game. At first we just ignored it and went upon our day but after trying to load it twice (it's been over an hour) It still wont ket us inside of the game.
We enjoyed playing this game for around a year, but major issues started springing up as we played: Storage Space: This game takes up a horrid amount of storage space, is incredibly slow, and crashes often. This may not be true for PC players, but if youre on mobile, then its horrible, and drains the hell out of your battery life. And god forbid you decide to charge your phone for a minute while you afk farm. It might actually explode. Greedy: It becomes clear very early on in the game that you have to spend a lot of money in order to have any semblance of fun and not get immediately wiped out by other players. Every new season is a fresh start, sure, but it also means that if you want to simply stay where you are in terms of ranking and level, you need to buy the season pass to not only keep up with your peers but level up efficiently. If you dont spend any money, youll have a terrible time progressing and leveling. Gameplay becomes incredibly slow and leveling becomes stagnantyoull be going through the story (which becomes increasingly tedious and dull) at a sloths pace. It was fun at first, but then became exhausting having to do the most just to fall flat to those who spend more money. Of course, this is true for many gacha games, but the pay to win aspect in this one is just absolutely ridiculous. Many stunning outfits, accessories, and character skins are locked behind a paywall. Not to mention the gachadont spend? You wont be having a good time with how rapidly and constantly the meta changes. Once you start building a crucial hypogean/celestial thats currently in the meta, a new update reveals another one that then replaces them in meta, rendering all your progress useless and a waste of resources. Its incredibly frustrating. And dont fall into the trap of getting into a competitive guild and spending a good chunk of money on this gameyou wont get your money back. You will regret it. Repetitive: As previously mentioned, the entire game becomes repetitive very very quickly. Every season is a fresh start, but every fresh start is the same thing over and over again. Not many new gameplay modes have been added, and many are not fun and/or are tediousjust another thing youve got to do in order to stay in pace with others. Characters: Just a little nitpick, but many of the character designs we find to be incredibly boring, especially when it comes to the female characters. The designs of the female characters is limited to pretty faces, unrealistic bodies, and mostly skimpy designs. While the male characters can have many cool features that probably wouldnt be considered attractive (animal heads, larger bodies and ugly faces). The only female characters that these standards dont apply to is an old woman, and a dwarf (whos still pretty!). (+ im not sure if its still just these two who diverge from the usual, but theyre the only ones we can remember.) However, its true that many games do this, so this one is honestly just a personal grievance. It just seems like such a missed opportunity to stray a bit from the norm. Honestly, if youre looking for a mediocre story game to pass the time occasionally, this one is fine. We dont think its worth the amount of space and battery it consumes, though.
We love the art style and a lot of the mechanics but unfortunately a lot of the games unique features are NOT free to play friendly. Such a bummer because it takes away a lot of the games fun.
We normally never write reviews but we just had to for this game. We normally download a game once and play it for a bit but forget about it later but we have been completely addicted to this game. We are literally never bored of it. We love the characters and the story. The only suggestion we have is that you add more to fashion. Thank you for this amazing game.

Most gacha games are pretty predatory with their monetization. They make characters and gear super limited for f2p players in an attempt to make them spend money on convenience and guaranteed pulls. This game doesnt do that. Every single character other than specific characters is available on the standard banner. When new heroes get introduced, they run on a rate-up banner for a bit before getting added to the standard banner. You can also set a wishlist to ensure that any 4- or 5-star character you pull comes from a list of specific characters you want. 4-star characters are only slightly weaker than most 5-stars, so you can still use them and are often encouraged to since you get so many copies of them. Additionally, you only need to level 5 heroes; all other heroes levels scale to the level of your lowest-level heroes. You can change these 5 heroes at any time. This is extremely f2p friendly since you never waste your resources, which is INSANELY generous for a gacha game. Speaking on gear, you get an abundance of it for free, you can craft it, and the gear is specific to CLASSES instead of characters. That means you dont need to grind for it like you would in other games. By recycling underleveled gear, you can get resources to craft more. This is the theme with basically anything you can level up about a hero. The story is actually surprisingly good too. The writing is clever, the characters have depth, and the plot is cohesive and easy to follow. The most recent season (thorns of devotion) actually had a super solid story, and we even got attached enough to a character that we got emotional seeing them after we completed the story. Best part is that story missions give tons of free resources, so you get doubly rewarded for completing it and completing side objectives! Overall a solid game for f2p players, and the monetization is actually pretty fair too. Theres many valuable low-cost options for dolphins and big spenders for whales. But you dont even need to spend to get a bunch of characters and level them up, so you can be totally f2p and still compete against players who spend. We honestly think every gacha needs to take pages out of afk journeys book when designing their game, bc Im definitely a lifelong player after seeing how amazing this game truly is.

Ive tried asking people for their opinions on whether they think Arena or Journey is better, and we think Ive come to a conclusion that its just preference. We honestly like AFKJourney more and we hope to see the game continue to grow.
Did not expect this game to be so good after playing AFK Arena! Genuinely neat character designs and graphics, well-voiced dialogue, and a fairly satisfying gameplay loop, not to mention the surprisingly good writing.
We really enjoy this game. All the characters are so cool and made well and we personally just think its one of the best games out there right now.
This game is actually so fun. And ive only been on for a few hours. We keep telling ourselves, Its getting late, we should get off after this battle. And we find ourselves on for another 45 minutes. This game is so fun and entertaining. One thing we dont like much is the whole multi-player thing. Not our kinda gameplay. We perfer single player so that we dont get ragebaited Otherwise, THIS GAME IS FIRE. NO ADS, NO POP UP PURCHASES, NOTHING GETTING IN THE WAY OF YOU FUN. Well, except for the tutorial but thats easily skipped. 10/10 GAME! WILL BE PLAYING EVERY DAY.

We have been enjoying it so far, we have gotten a lot of resources easily so it isnt that much of a grind, and the characters are pretty and fun to use. The only complaint that we have is in the adds there are skins for characters that arent in the actual game and we think that is a bit of a miss lead but apart from that the game is fun and enjoyable.

The whole idea of the game was better in its last. This game is just a sexual catch (shown in their ads as they legit have one talking abt how the characters are made thick ) it is your basic rpg style Gacha game with nothing special, and most their characters are based off of someone elses design or show. If youd like a good game like this we suggest a different one that actually puts work into their art and game rather than copying and pasting the old games/other peoples games and being a pay to play (if you want any actual progress after the first 10 chapters).
Sooooo, about Gala why couldnt we keep her? We mean, she depends on us, she has no family, no one would miss her really. So there really has to be something we can do to bring her back to the present time. Shes so sweet and cute and she even said she wanted to go with us, so why not? We honestly think thats just a bad twist of fate, but of course life isnt always fair. But for goodness sakes, its a game and people need more joy in the world, and Gala would be just that. If you cant bring her back in this season, then make a new season thats based off this one and bring her back as a playable character. Everyone loves her, including us. Also, we need a way to turn off chat, because people are weird. But again, back to Gala, the new season could be Christmas themed and Galas already white with red berries and leaves for jewelry, so that would be perfect. Thats all we got for now, and we dont care if we have to raffle for Gala, but please add her to the game. Please and thank you in advance hopefully.
Im constantly being kicked out in the middle of doing our stages or supreme arena mostly. Im not understanding why Im being kicked out every battle almost. Just did the update, and now cant even get into our game. Im playing on our new iPad 9. We really am upset with this situation because there is no reason this should be happening at all. We would like to enjoy the game and play it without being kicked out. We absolutely LOVE this game. PLEASE FIX MY ACCOUNT.
Im not gonna play this game and we never will but the reviews say its good so the game might actually be something we would enjoy. But your ads are disappointing. Its about that one girl inside the game (the cat lady dont know the name) every time we see her in your ads we already know its gonna be some paid actor stroking his blaze rod to her showing her actual cat. Only reason Im writing this is to PLEASE stop doing this. Im fourteen and seeing these gooner ads that we cant stop we report and block them but blocking does nothing since it only blocks that specific ad And reporting probably does absolutely nothing to we bet you YouTube moderation is also stroking their pickle to these ads or maybe their clankers cant tell the difference between false striking and gooner ads. Anyway we think you guys can actually do better with the your advertising choices.
We were not expecting this, we thought it would be bad but no its complete opposite, we just joined and we were doing so good, we level upped our characters to level 21 already it helps so much when your trying to do battles, Im just wondering what level you make friends on you know? But we would definitely get this game if we were you.
This game is one of the best game we have downloaded on our phone. The characters on the game that are must get are Lenya or Viperian.

While this game has a lot of potential and can be fun to play, the world chat is a major issue that seriously affects the overall experience. Once you open the chat, youll quickly notice that people are able to say almost anything without facing any consequences. There are users with offensive or inappropriate usernames, and many conversations contain disturbing language and topics. Its extremely concerning to see discussions about private parts, child exploitation, and other explicit content happening openly. The lack of moderation means that these behaviors go unchecked, creating an unsafe environmentespecially for younger players. Not only does this make the game uncomfortable, but it also exposes players to harmful and illegal material. Warning to all players: If you choose to use the world chat, please be aware that you may encounter inappropriate messages and disturbing content. Protect your privacy and avoid sharing any personal information. If you are underage, consider disabling the chat feature entirely or playing with parental supervision. The developers urgently need to implement stronger filters, active moderation, and stricter enforcement of community guidelines. Until these changes are made, we strongly advise players to exercise caution when interacting in the chat and report any suspicious or harmful behavior immediately. Your safety should always come first. Stay alert and take steps to protect yourself while enjoying the game.

We played this game for about the first half of the first story arc and it's a decently fun game. We oftentimes wanted to keep playing it but the ads keep showing it off like a waifu simulator, which majorly undermines the quality of the game itself imo because it's not a waifu simulator, it's a gacha adventure game – two completely different things. And seeing all these ads of how "s*xy" the game is while trying to overcome an addiction is just plain annoying. Maybe we're a little biased for that, but that's our experience with the game. It seems like the devs don't take their own game seriously based on the ads and it's actively going against our ambitions. Play it if you like it, that's all we got to say, but we're out.
