Community Insight:
The intent of this app is great. But its functionality is not quite ready for prime time. When tapped, the color change of the buttons is barely noticeable. Upon first use, we didnt notice it. After tapping responses, suddenly the user realizes the question is overwith and the earned points are displayed. Did we miss something? When we chose the Scrub series, where was we supposed to be located? Maybe give name and address of the park. When picture of a walkway into the woods is displayed and a user image is requested, what am we supposed to provide? An image of what? Where was we expected to be located? Snapping an image of what? This game is a great concept. Perhaps could earn different rewards or badges. 10 parks visited, 5 waterfront parks, 5 flat woods preserves, 5 north county and 5 south county. Images of wildlife like scrubjay, tortoise, osprey, snake, etc.
Perfect for all ages walked around the park and if you fallow the apps advise you get a cool pride at the end.
Our school recently had this program where we designed a mission on this app, and we loved it! Our siblings (who are younger) enjoyed playing the app, and getting outside. We like the goal of this app as well. Overall, we would recommend it for people that like exploring and young kids that are up for a walk/hike.
Our kids enjoy using this app and learning what makes the park so special and unique. And its encouraging to see new locations added every few months and keeps the kids excited to explore new places. This app really needs a map view instead of just the locations based on the distance. When people travel, this feature may help immensely by giving us places to visit and plan ahead.

Agents of Discovery is an outstanding educational app that combines augmented reality and real-world exploration for an engaging learning experience. Highly recommended for educators and students alike.
Our grandsons ages 6 and 9 loved doing the challenges. They said it reminded them of earth caches, the treasure is knowledge. Thank you for the wonderful learning experience. They want to do more.
The app would constantly hang on the screen that said contacting headquarters or something like that. We would have to hard quit and restart. The app claims it doesnt need internet access if you download the map so why does it need to contact headquarters? It also eats a ton of battery using GPS. Im sure it could be more efficient with GPS.
This is a fun and engaging game for young kids and adults who love to be outside, exploring. The app features lots of improvements over the last several years and the addition of play-at-home missions makes it accessible to everyone no matter if theyre near a mission site or are farther away.
Couldnt even get to the mission list.
We were really looking forward to using this app with our daughter but every time we click on a mission the app shuts down.
Tried it in multiple parks and the map does not work. It never opens challenges or registers QR codes.
Continually Crashes on iPhone 6.
None for the whole state of Nevada? We have a Natl Park, State Parks, Historical Sites, Cultural Sites, Ghost Towns, etc.
The game it a great way to learn about new places and the environment around it. We have also learned new things from places Ive visited before. The challenges allow for some friendly competition but also provides lots of education.
1- theres nothing wrong with the app, our daughters love it, but the closest location is nearly three hours away. Theres two state forests a National Forest and too many large state parks just minutes from our back door that have nothing for the app 2- there should be a map feature to choose from as well as the scroll down list that the app presently uses. 3- a location, even a general one, would be nice. About 90 percent of these places Ive never heard of- who knew there was a nature center outside of Pittsburgh? Not this one and Im an outdoor writer.
We played this game with our daughter and her friends at Mission Garden in Tucson, AZ and they loved it! They are in 5th grade and found the game easy to understand and the challenge questions fun to find and answer. Our daughter literally exclaimed, This is so fun, we love this! We even saw a high school student playing while we were there and loving the scavenger hunt nature of the game. Its clearly fun for all ages! It is extremely satisfying to see kids get excited about being outside and learning about nature.
This educational, place-based app is brand new to Hiawatha National Forest but has thus far been an amazing tool to bring students and families out to connect with the many faces of the Forest. The only reason we did not give 5 stars is to bring attention to the fact that these Missions are not set-it and forget-it; we have seen far more success with having staff on site to help guide and expand upon lessons. Overall a fantastic teaching tool, great work Agents of Discovery.
