STORY
On returning from testing the Hyper Jump functionality of your prototype fighter, you discover that your planet has been reduced to asteroids by the Marauder. With nothing left to live for, you decide to jump the 20 light years to destroy the Marauders home planet of Irata.
Your space ship can only jump 1 light year at a time so you will face 20 waves of asteroid strewn space wastes and the star forces of the marauder. However, fear not, your prototype fighter has been designed to be upgraded so you can unlock and pick up power-ups. Better yet you can string multiple power-ups together for devastating fire power.
HOW TO PLAY
Your objective is simple – stay alive as long as possible by shooting and avoiding wave after wave of asteroids … your reward: a high score and bragging rights on the Game Center leader boards.
Your ship can be rotated through 360 degrees and can fire photon torpedoes. Large asteroids can be broken into two medium size ones, which in turn can be shot into two smaller ones. A wave is over when all asteroids have been cleared.
Beware of the saucers! The large type are easy to hit and fire inaccurately, the smaller saucers are a different story… they move faster, are harder to hit and also become devastatingly accurate as the game progresses.
You can use your ships thrusters to move out of the way of an incoming asteroid. Be careful of thrusting too much as there is no inertia in space and you will have to correct your trajectory to stop!
If you find yourself in a no-win situation, you can hit Hyperspace – this will transport your ship to a random position on screen. Hyperspace is a dangerous option as your ship can transported into an asteroid.

We f-ing love this game. Its the only game we havent gotten bored with. Its meditative. Totally perfect execution.
Fantastic game. But reached the end and destroyed the planet. Now what? :(.
We dont keep multiple games on our phone only one at a time and this is it. We love this one. Sound effects are awesome. Background music reminds us slightly of the Tron movie. Everything is cool.
Great game. Challenging & fun but also frustrating. We would suggest an upgrade of adding one ship for every level gotten through without getting vaped. As it stands one has no reason to continue playing if you lose all your lives before advancing to higher levels which is why we rated the game at three stars. We usually go back to Asteroids after three or four losing games just to hone our skills without having to chase after upgrades.
You know how you doubt a sequel because you love the original so much? Well, in the tradition of Empire Strikes Back, Terminator 2 and Back to the Future II, this is a sequel that stands on its own, adds to the original without diminishing it, and is a logical and entertaining progression.
We assume that is what Marauder is supposedly of? Good sounds, good graphics. Extremely annoying touch controls (fully mitigated by using buttons) so yeah … We don't know what that 6th stage is supposed to do. We mean, we had shoot that thing at least 100 times and nothing happened. But that's perhaps our fault, so yeah … :).
Happy to support the developer for such a great game. Graphics are sweet retro and easy on the eyes, controls in the touch setting are responsive and easy. Thanks for a simple fun game, really enjoy playing it! Edit… 5 stars still stand but… 2 suggestions to improve the experience: allow progress to be saved so you can pick up where you left off vs. Always starting over. And… Please stop the high score initials entry for every play of the game. Even when we get killed right away with a crappy score it wants us to enter initials. Make it an option or only have it trigger when a new high score is truly achieved. Thx.
Great game, thank you for being able to bypass the girls voice and go straight to next level. The game crashes when im listening to music simutaniously. This happens at the worst time, when we are over 100k. Please fix, love this game. One of these days we will be on planet eye rata! Just us and the rat lady.
Like all the reviews have been saying…this is AWESOME! Back in the day, Asteroids was THE game! We dropped so many quarters in that game at the arcade…what a time. You cant find a better deal for 99 cents.
The first Alsteroids is good, but this one is great! Good ole asteroids – we love shooting rocks and space ships, and this is the game we remember from long ago. Its relatively easy (use the buttons), and fun. Dont understand why more people havent picked up on this. If you like shooters, you should try it. And it sure is refreshing to see an outfit that only charges a buck to remove ads – talk about the good old days.
Being a GenXer raised in arcades in the 80s, this shooter really takes us back to the good ol days. From the glowing retro vector graphics to the smooth action, we havent had this much fun shooting rocks in ages. We would give this app 5 stars and tell every GenX kid at heart to get this pronto, BUT we think some minor improvements need to be made in order to get that extra star: 1) You should reward an extra life at some reasonable interval, maybe even at the completion of a level if you pass it without dying. Going 4-5 levels without gaining at least ONE extra life is pretty harsh and not really motivating. 2) There should be a SAVE function to pick up where you left off. Its disheartening to make so much progress then lose it all in an instant. Yet overall, we would say this is the next best thing to the real deal. Thanks for your time and effort in making a truly entertaining and addictive game.
If ur somehow reading this, then good for you Now lets jump right into this, shall we. Graphics: This game has good graphics for a game with only 100 ratings. It helps with gameplay because its bright and pretty dang easy to understand. Its definitely more better & simpler than all these other bad Asteroids games that are currently in the App Store. Ill for sure give this a 7/10. Gameplay: Its hard to master, but again easy to learn. If youre looking for a challenging game, then this one is for you. Because its addicting to play, fun to see, and calm to hear. The gameplay its self is just fine and nice to have since its easy to manipulate & again learn. Controls: Theyre again simple & noice. Options/Menu: Theyre very cool to have and fun to change. Thats really it and hope you were able to get what Im saying and read it a bit thoroughly at least! Enjoy and have a fun one.
We think this is a amazing game but we would love it even more if there was a power up to heel you.
This is a smooth, fast action, fun game. We love the graphics and sound. However, over half our deaths in the game come from accidentally swiping down and initiating the hyper-warp. Its a real pain and it makes us want to give up the game. We wish we could turn off hyper-warp….its just too easy to accidentally hit it and it ruins the game.
Can only give this three stars because so audio. The music and sound effect from the trailer sounds amazing but now all we can think while Im playing is what is wrong with this game.
Ive had this game on our iPad for over a year. We just downloaded it on our phone but the app on the phone has no penetrator bullets or auto fire or orbital shield which we have on the iPad app. Phone app only has shrinker status field and retro jets.
Game has a habit of freezing. Fix it. Also where can we see all our high scores? Anyway the freezing is the worst. Last time it froze right after we surpassed our previous high score and it was wiped out. Not cool. Also there should be another level after you destroy the planet Irata.
Not much to get excited about, and it is difficult to control the ship(stop n go).
Unable to stop clockwise rotation of craft. Also, no way to shut down game, only RESUME. Will uninstall it for now.
We had the original Al steroids on our iPhone 11 and still got it but we cant find it in the App Store for our iPhone 13 Pro.
Love the new version, we play it all the time, our wife hates it, cause when were at dinner, bed, shopping, even driving, Im playing the game. Get rid off the long pause (female voice) or stop the time from our remaining weapons! Plus, every time our wife calls, the game goes silent!!??! We have to stop the game and reboot our phone. Also, our control of the ship Freezes for a couple of seconds. Dont mind the adds, fix these and we would gladly pay the .99 cents! Awesome Game.

Awesome game. Best asteroids EVER.
We were drawn to this game because of our love of all things retro. The production design is nice for an independent release and the soundtrack is well done. Gameplay is fluid and graphics and effects have been given a nice polish. Give this a shot, paying a dollar will remove adverts.
This is a fun game, no doubt. Maybe even better than Alsteroids, one of our all time favorites (and one we always return to). But honestly, all of our 'extras' run out while the girlie voice tells us how far it is to planet eye rat ah and what level we're on or am we ready? That's just not right! Plus we should be able to save those extras for later use, when we really want (need!) them. This really is a fine game and the price can't be beaten and as much as we hate to rag on something we didn't pay for, there is room for improvement here. We will continue to play and continue to enjoy this game and we'll just deal with what we believe are some shortcomings. Even as is, it may even rank as a great game, even without any changes. Better than the original game of asteroids we even paid for the no ads version not because there are lots of them but because of whoever took the time to build this game earned the money. Great job guys hope you can do more we would like to see the old game Stargate Defender reborn. Fun game. Thanks.
Great game, asteroids but with a better experience. Looks good, easy, and just like playing it back in the 90s. When games were like gold for kids. Now is just tucked away in the corner of the app store almost forgotten. Thanks.
There are no reviews here but this app has been available since June 2015. How odd! It's nearly a secret ASTEROIDS type game .. And a good one. It's free and hasn't been poisoned with ads (yet). We recommend it highly if you like classic Asteroids. (_)====YES====.
