Dive into Alt-Frequencies

What happens when everyone is stuck in the same time loop, without knowing?

Alt-Frequencies is an audio mystery game where you use the airwaves to open the world’s eyes to the truth. Record, rewind time and broadcast snippets of radio shows to expose radio hosts, conspiracy theorists, politicians, underground activists – and a dog.

By redistributing information, you change what happens in the next 3 minute time loop and impact both news cycles and the lives of the people behind them.

Listen as their personal stories evolve, in a world that seems to stand still.

Features:

  • A new kind of narrative game that blurs the lines between the fantastical and the everyday while examining our relationship with mainstream media through the prism of radio stations.
  • Built-in accessibility features that make the game available to a wide range of people – including blind and visually impaired players.
  • Brought to life by a diverse cast of 20+ amazing voice performers, including TV, podcasts and YouTube personalities such as Jasika Nicole (Fringe, Welcome to Night Vale).
  • By the studio behind the critically acclaimed A Normal Lost Phone and Another Lost Phone: Laura’s Story.

A co-production from ARTE, the European cultural network, with Accidental Queens.

Hear from the Players – Alt-Frequencies Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Alt-Frequencies:

The concept is lovely and the gameplay was so unique! We appreciate the fast forward option and also the little bits of flavor text hidden in different places. The game is quite short, but it makes up for it with its replay-ability (pun intended). We hope we get some sort of longer version or a sequel someday because we felt myself get quite attached to a few of the characters. We wished we could help them more with their lives. Original gameplay, interesting story and likable cast. Pulled at our heartstrings at the end.

We’re really very analytical, and we understand the message that this game is trying to convey to people. Many people consider us Conspiracy theorists but there are really things in reality that have no explanation. We love knowing that this game is strongly connected to reality, a reality we live in where the government is able to silence people who try to expose the truth. We love the ending where you decide whether to free yourself, or be a prisoner. Really great job and good job by the developer trying to spread this message to people too bad not everyone can understand it.

We love this game! We had some trouble with ch4.2 but we beat it, and forget about old review we did, anyways great game!!!

We just downloaded this game two days ago and on the night we downloaeed it, we were up until 2:00 AM playing it! LOL! We love this game a lot and we think you should keep up the amazing work!

We really enjoyed this game, would love to have a sequel. Also, nice reference with Winston.

Please please please make an end, other than that, great game.

Thoroughly loving this game! We still have some nooks and crannies to figure out, and Im pretty sure we havent completely scratched the surface. The accessibility in this game is beautifully implemented, and we could interact with every part of it. This is one of the best audio games we have seen in a while.

It only took a few hours to play. But the mechanic of recording and playing clips to other shows is fun. It is also interesting to see the versions of radio genres in the game.

This game is built on an amazing concept, it reminds us a little bit of Oxenfree. The problem is that the game is so short. We feel like there could have been a lot of world building and character development, it even feels like there was some stuff set in place that just never got finished as story lines before the game was released. We thought with a time loop mechanic there would be multiple endings, but there isnt much replayability to the game. Its worth the five bucks, but if youre looking for a game to sink some time into, this aint it.

Im not sure if its supposed to be like this, but there is zero audio coming from this game. We’ve tried messing with all the audio settings. No other app is giving us this issue. Its not too big of a deal, but it seems odd.

We really enjoyed this game but we were able to finish it in 30 minutes. Im not really comfortable with the fact that we paid money for a game that we were able to finish so fast. Will there be more additions or is that it? We know you can play again and get multiple outcomes BUT we wish there was a way to skip the tutorial so we didnt have to see it every time. We dont know. Great concept but needs more.

Great concept, we really thought it would be worth the price! But we finished it in a few hours. And a lot of the plot points were just pointless or left open. Like Jennys dad being Winston. There was no explanation as to what led to his disappearance, or what happened to him. Same with Michelle. Overall we were left feeling like we watched half a season of a tv show.

We love this game. We downloaded it maybe two or three hours ago, and was surprised. This is our all time favorite game, in general, right now. We’ve never seen anything like it.

We’ve been anticipating this game for awhile now, so its a bit disappointing that it feels more like a proof of concept than a fully fleshed-out story. Took about 2-3 hours for us, which is… Fine. But even after redoing a pivotal decision in the middle and trying several different recordings to change it without success, the ending was abrupt with unresolved plot points.

Wont let us install the game.

The concept is genius, but it has to be taken a step forward. Add more plots and allow multiple recordings.

We feel like the game was to short to be 5 bucks and we hope they add other stories or something along the lines to make it different fell like it should be free for about 2 hours of game time maybe less.
