We love practicing our bridge game online. There are a few very kind people on this platform, but the majority will just lambast you for a minor error or difference of opinion. Based on the anonymous nature of this platform they feel free to use profanity and make the game miserable. Big problem? No consequences. There is a Report button to report abuse but Ive yet to see any action on the part of the developers. The abuse and rudeness continues. Bridge is a civilized game that should be played cordially. Theres rarely a cordial moment on BrideBase.
The mechanics and variety of ways to play and watch pros is outstanding. However, it has enough irritating Bridge-specific systemic flaws to be frustrating. It has been close to great for so long and the flaws are not bugs so they dont get addressed. First, it tries to make the sampling of hands more interesting for the individual player by making most games based on the player having the best hand, but to keep the bidding competitive, it compensates by including a lot more distributional hands so there is a much greater likelihood of bad splits which frequently penalizes players who understand and play for the higher probabilities of actual random deals. Second, and more important, there are terrible quirks in the AI bidding. You will frequently feel less like you are playing with an AI partner and more like playing against three AI opponents. It does not handle doubles well, frequently passing takeout doubles or bidding over your penalty doubles. It fails to place your bid into the context of prior bids often attributing outrageous values to a bid despite the hand having previously passed our competing with preemptive bids. It tries to help by describing what each bid is supposed to mean, but you will notice its flaws occasionally as it will describe your hand as having completely incompatible holdings such as: 1 or fewer AND 5 or more in the same suit; showing 25+ hcp by a passed hand and other frustrating inconsistencies.
Love to play game but its so touchy. Always losing game in the middle of play if you happen to touch anything. Wish it would stay on game until you are finished.
App is unstable on ios products. Totally ridiculous company has not fixed super bug.
This app is awful. After a certain number of log one you get stuck in advertisements and cannot get out of them.
We tried to register and there were literally no username we could enter that would work. All were unavailable.
Our bridge instructor recommended this app (its free!), so we registered and attempted to play with other players. Our virtual partner quickly got frustrated (and snarky) with us because we were slow/not playing at his level. We were slow because we were having trouble figuring out how to use the app! Its not intuitive like other bridge apps we have used. Also, where are the clues, instructions or explanations? There are several very good, beginner friendly apps out there. This is not one of them.
Prices are going up too quickly.
BBO is terrific for both casual and virtual club games. We are disabled with MS and yet find it easy to play on both our Apple iPhone as well as our Amazon kindle. Yes, the recent introduction of advertising is a distraction, and many of us wonder if it is really necessary to keep the platform free or if they are simply looking to monetize it. Nevertheless, it really is nothing more than a distraction and the program itself is terrific.
Keep up the great work for a wonderful website for us Bridge players.
For Subscribers, recommend introducing tournament that provides BBO points Also with AI have dedicated BOTS either ML to customize Robots. Offer this option at higher cost.
We unfortunately upgraded to iOS26. Now scrolling is hit or, mostly, miss. We cannot scroll in the ACBL world area to find games and scrolling in the history tab is problematic. The last time we tried, we couldnt took beyond board 9. IOS26 has been a real downgrade in general and we suspect Im not the only person with a problem.
We find some of the bidding to be erroneous example we are at 3nt and the comp bid 4 s with 8 s between us.
We have plaed Bridge on this site for years and watched it go from 25 cents a game to over $2. It is a good place to play Bridge. Why so greedy.
BBO is great. The prices went up quite dramatically, though.
During the pandemic enabled us to play with our 3 partners and its been so great we are still playing on line.
Very innovatively designed Aap. One could , on a clik of a button , play with anyone across the globe. Incredible experiance. In addition, one could watch international tournaments sitting in your comfortable arm chair. . Thanks Team BBO..God Bless you all.
We came here to update the app because we thought there must be an issue. Updating didnt change anything. We cant play Just Declare because theres no way to get the ad off of the screen. We waited and waited. Its not usable in this state. Thanks for listening. Im an avid user of the computer version.

This app changed dramatically, and it now has ads running all the time – slot machines at the top of the page when you are trying to play bridge- interruptions of the games with ads, and an inability to check your scores because of the ads. We went on this site to see if there is an update to the app because it use to be a good place to play. No longer much fun and we do not play games that we use to pay for -because of all the interruptions.
Yes, we agree, the ads have ruined the app. We have tried paying for a tournament hoping that would get rid of ads but no luck. And we keep having to reinstall the app for access.
Adds are awful. Constant ringing from hearing aid interference make it unusable. Terrible app.
Ever since you started running Ads they have take over the screen! You can hear the sound that the game is on but cant X out of the ads. Most other computer games have a 15-30 second Ad at which we can exit after that time. But the ads on your website stay on for a long time plus whatever game is advertised stays on the screen with an OPEN button (no X at this point) which takes you to the App store. We understand that Ads helps you with money, but we think you should be able to control the amount of time it runs. Thanks for listening.
It appears they turned the development of this program over to the secretaries. The people who wrote this have no idea how to write a decent program. It does work sometimes. But dont depend on it.
We enjoy playing with other players, but we also used to enjoy the anonymous play with robots. Tournament style. It let us practice playing match points vs IMPS, for one thing. Unfortunately that option no longer works, even though there is still a button for it. We are trying to find another app that does the same sort of thing.
Hands are well played, but has a fatal flaw in solitaire play as the dummy makes outrageous bids often bidding up suits with little or no strength to back it up. Makes it impossible to bid a serious game.
Having a difficult time registering and logging in.

Like other reviewers, we find the ads extremely irritating. Is there some reason you are unable to purchase BBO+ and do away with the ads on the app.
We once loved this app and used it often to play remotely with friends. The ads have ruined the experience for us. They interrupt the play mid-game and at times have held us captive for minutes at a time. Recently, we were stuck on the Update Your Solitaire App ad for five minutes and could not get rid of it even by rebooting our phone. There is no uniformity in the mechanics of closing the ads. The closing x is often invisible on the screen. We purchased $20 in bonus points hoping we could enjoy an ad free experience, but no luck. After hundreds, if not thousands of hours, we are quitting this App and installing Neural Bridge. Developers, we understand you need revenue but this implementation has been the worst we have ever seen. Amateurish, at best.

Instead of offering a reasonable purchase option, the app now interrupts play with ridiculous ads! Just give purchase option.

Love the app because we dont have to travel. We can play at home and not worry about leaving our house for 3/4 hours.
Version 6.35.3 Bug report. While playing in Virtual Club for MP we are alerted with yellow box each time a friend logs onto BBO. Im given the blue button to greet them. Not good for your concentration. This didnt happen with previous versions. IPad app runs noticeably slower.
After years of playing, the app is not working. Please help.
The latest update introduced ads that take you away from the game mid-hand, which destroys your concentration. Please fix.
We understand the need for advertising but do they have to pop up in the middle of playing a hand every few minutes? Distracting and frustrating.
After about 30 minutes of playing, our keyboard begins to slow down drastically, and then freezes. Ive tried many things, including deleting and re-downloading, to no avail. Our internet is fine, our battery life is good and not overheating, and our iPad has lots of memory and is up-to-date.
For the past few months, the App crashes without any warning. We have turn our iPad off and start it again. This is happening to several of our friends. We have deleted the App and reloaded it. That did not help either. Can this problem be fixed.
Its very inconvenient the app will lose connection to server after switching to a different app.
The app frequently gets into a state where it is stuck and needs to be restarted. Some of the ads also require clicking, waiting , and clicking again to get rid of.
Older version 6.2.0 will work on older Apple products but will not on new iPad. App developer needs new update please.
This app has a bug that it almost always disconnects you from the site whenever you change to another window. What to check your email? Disconnected! Want to respond to a text message? Disconnected! Want to check what time it is??? Disconnected! As a mobile developer ourselves, it truly astounds us that a reasonably popular app can have a bug this nasty for such a long time.
Whenever the Solitaire Cash ad runs we must delete the app and reinstall. Not as good as when it was ad free.
We cannot connect to BBB even thought we have used it and played onBBO for years. Please help us.
The advertisements are geared for a two year-old. There are annoying. If you get logged out or you lose contact with the server, you have to start your score all over again.
Mobile version has been updated recently correcting previous errors. Much appreciated. This app is perfect for playing bridge and entering tournaments and learning skills. The app and platform are excellent. Sometimes the people who use the app are annoying. There are some changes we would like to see. 1. Make auto play singletons the default. It would really speed up play. 2. Disable the Remove player button until they have received a notice about your turn to play. Too often some players rudely remove a player in the middle of a game, based upon their thought that the player is messing up, but they cannot even see your hand. Other times the host is looking at the players profile and hits the remove player button by mistake.
