Great for practicing conceptional MCQs. Calculator is helpful, but questions without calculations are best for this app. We wish there were little mini games or five minute mindfulness breaks.
This is an amazing concept however its not like a smooth running game. Its very buggy and needs more into it.
Runs like molasses. It has huge potential for a fun way to study the multiple choice questions, if they would put more power and resources into it. Please look into the Unity engine! We all would love a better running game. You are hitting the demographic your aiming for, but with a pellet, hope Becker can step up to the plate here.
Yeah, we would love to to try the app but this message is in the way and we cannot get rid of it. Its CONSTANTLY appearing and blocking what needs to be clicked on and so we cannot proceed or use the app. Its a nightmare application.
We do really appreciate this game as it gives you a different perspective from just cranking multiple choice questions over and over again. The main issue we do see with the game is that there are a lot of people that have already passed and no longer play the game so your multiplayer features are not as good as they could be because of a lot of dead accounts. Occasionally as we run into someone that is still using the game like myself, we will add them as a friend, however they are few and far between. Another issue we have is trying to search for new friends when they have a more common name. It would help if the search engine allows you to use the user tag provided to knock down to the person you actually want to friend.
We LOVE this app for studying and reinforcing concepts. We do wish the questions were unlimited in sections or you could choose the number of questions to answer. F1 M1 has 49 questions and sometimes we dont have time to answer 49 questions. It would be nice if candidates could choose the number, and possibly see new MCQs instead of the same 49 over and over again. We like the personalized review sessions on the Becker website, but that has not been made available on any mobile application yet. Still super fun to drill MCQs this way though!
We like the idea of turning studying into a game. We have found we study more due to this app than we did without it. On the other hand, it could use some improvements. About half of the time we get a question wrong and we want to see the explanation, the app crashes. We find it frustrating that we can not view the explanation because we are not able to learn from it. Maybe they will have an app update that fixes that.
Im not sure why, but Im not able to log in or set up a profile. Can someone assist?
Complaints/review- 1. Our friend and we sent each other friend requests. Neither of us received the others request. Social aspect needs development and would be a big improvement for us competitive folks out there. 2. FAR is our first exam, thus we have only been playing using FAR questions. We imagine this game will be more efficient for AUD where MCQs are more conceptual. 3. Occasionally MCQ question text and choices do not align with the space provided. Overall good idea, Im using it, but would give a much better rating if they made some simple developments! For goodness sake Becker costs like $3000 and they dont even provide good audio notes…. Atleast fix the game haha.
Seem antiquated just from the login.
We asked for customer support and they never got back to us. We have sent many emails to different customer support employees and no one has gotten back to us. Its been 3 months since we’ve had this issue with the app.
Our grandma is an actual cow this as insulting. It is completely A FROD. This app is horrible. U have to pay ur workers do takes billed stare at a computer screen to look at ur clients and stuff to buy for ur company. THIS IS HORRIBLE dont but thisnever download this!
This game is worth the money for becker over wiley (my firm provided us with both). It has some glitches here and there, but this is a great way to engage with the material and keeps you thinking outside of the normal study atmosphere.
We like the whole game idea that helps people continue study but there is no sound we wish it had implemented studying music.

We were in search of an accounting game that would not only refresh our knowledge but also enjoy the game concept. It seemed like Becker was the answer to our prayers. But You cant believe how disappointed we became after setting up our demo account and not being able to login past the login screen. Let alone even play this game Support team if youre reading this, please fix this issue.
You would think with as much money they account for they would fix the bug to actually let u play the game.
When we try to log in all we get is this messageCouldnt connect to the server: code 500 There is nowhere we can find to report this or get help.
It is a perfect application to study when you are commuting and you can review all MCQ, although some of them does not adapt to the small screen, resulting in a crop. Consequently some important information to answer some question are missing because it is on the part that was cropped.
This game is very helpful for learning CPA exam questions. The religion helps to make these questions easier and the explanations are thorough.
We just love this app and we catch myself playing the game any free minute we have. Its an amazing tool! Makes studying fun without the pressure of the performance evaluation you get from the conventional course. Also the rewards gets you excited about building more and more stuff and getting more knowledge and money Also we purposely leave the notifications on so every time we get our phone we see a notification that we need to clear up which forces us to go to the app. Very clever! Love it!
We played this religiously while studying for the audit portion of the CPA and it was perfect for drilling MCQs without the stress of sitting at the desk or in front of the computer. We were able to spend an extra 20 minutes after a study session relaxing in bed and just playing on our phone. Currently, we are studying for FAR, and it is still great for conceptual questions, but we cant get through enough questions that are conceptual-based over math-based. Obviously, FAR is 90% math, but we really would like the option to specifically play with only conceptual or light-math. While calculating the unamortized portion of a bond in year 8 isnt really practicable to do on the tiny calculator provided, we would like to have questions related to whether its a discount or a premium being amortized, etc. Love the app overall, but just a suggestion for really taking advantage of what it could offer for us future CPAs!
Great tool to supplement confidence with strengths and weaknesses.
Update: Issue fixed (revising review from 1 star to 4 stars) we like the fact that you can practice MCQs for individual modules (M1, etc.) within a subsection (ex. A1) in the event that you havent completed your studying for an entire subsection. However, now when we open the app, it says that we’ve entered the wrong username and password when the remember our password box is checked. We tried re-entering both and we’ve also tried re-installing. Nothing works. We have no problem logging into the Becker CPA review course. Frustrating…
If you’re like us and get bored studying and staring at traditional layouts of homework and review, then this game is great for you. We’ve been sitting for the exams back to back so practicing the MCQ on the original Becker layout got boring quick. This game provides an incentive for you to keep studying, plus what you complete during the mini games is recorded on your Becker account (for full version, not demo). Nothing too fancy, but it’s a great alternate and no other review course has something "game" related.
We are currently studying regulation and we only want regulation McQs, but all we see are auditing mcqs?
Update: we logged in today, and our questions are now loading. Thanks Becker!! Happy studying everyone! Our questions aren’t loading in the game. It just has a spinning loading symbol. Is anyone else having this issue?? If the questions won’t load, how am we supposed to earn points?
This is a fun and creative way to study. In response to a previous user, theres now an option to toggle the font size to make the questions a little bigger. A very good app.
The app is great for refreshing your memory on various topics. Explanations of each question really help you stay sharp. The only thing we would suggest is getting rid of the required waiting time between gold conversions, espionages, challenges, etc. As it only serves to frustrate candidates since they now have to wait to redeem themselves after a disappointing result.
We love the concept. Growing up playing Civ3 and Age of Empires, this app is basically Clash of Clans for Accountants. Correct multiple choice answers gives you resources. Really needs more investment though. Some core suggestions: Gamification Improvement: – the ability to exit mini games half-way without answering all of the MCQs. – the ability to set ahead of time how many MCQs you want to answer. – the integration of MCQs with which types of questions and topics the user needs to review most (based on their Becker studying overall). – the ability to set a mix of MCQ topics Interface Improvement: – better interface for MCQs screen. Text is small, and hard to read. – better chat and invitation feature for other users – better support.
We use this app mostly when Im reviewing weeks before the exam but it goes through phases where it wont take our login. Our materials have not expired and we’ve tried changing our password. It simply adds to the stress of the exam IMO.
This app seems to be very useful, but it doesnt work well on an iPhone X. The screen flashes a lot and is never still so you dont know where you are clicking. Maybe they will update it soon and in which case we can better evaluate the app!
We have an iPhone 10 with the most current iOS operating system. We have downloaded this game twice to our phone and the game screen flashes erratically and gives us a headache. We dont know how anyone can get passed the first step to even play the game if this is a common issue. Wouldve loved to try it out but cant handle the flashing screen.
Really like the MCQ review aspect. The game aspect is unnecessary and actually a deterrent. Would prefer to have the MCQs as flashcards. If the wrong answer is selected (or the user manually marks the question for review), the question goes back into the que of the next five cards (versus the end of the que) so that it is reviewed timely. Also, the possible answers would be re-scrambled. Would also like the above feature available for desktop/laptop.
Its a great review and augmentation to what you learned from the Becker CPA course, and we were very much so enjoying it until the update. We can no longer access the application for some reason. We are stack at the log in screen.
Its a crappy port of a generic war game with no support BUT, it does let you test on random questions and reward you for correct answers. Its a good concept and we like it for just answering a random subset. Pretty clear theyre never going to actually develop the app further. Used it for a year and the fashion house still says Coming Soon. But… We mean we still used it.
Why couldn’t the game been… Real life… We woke up and had to go into the office and while there we had to prepare for an audit engagement and show Johnny walking down the hall to the engagement. If an accountant created this then we get it… Not creative at all! Maybe Becker himself created this this non-interactive situation because it’s not a game.
So far we like the game and it’s interesting. We wish it was more compatible on our iPad mini-2. The font size is so small on our iPhone.
We played the game for a few days. It does seem like a useful and effective way to study. I’d give it 4 stars on that merit. About 2 weeks ago, we got booted out and couldn’t log back in. We assumed the servers were down or there was some other issue that would get fixed. As of 6/22/17, we still can’t login. :(
We have already answered more questions trying to achieve things in this game than homework questions we’ve done through Becker’s main app/website. This is going to help us pass our last two sections more than anything else.
This is actually a very cool app that Becker made to try and make studying for the CPA exam a little more fun.. If that’s possible. We really like the app however, they currently only have questions for the Audit section.
This has been an awesome on the go way to stay current with our CPA Exam studying. We hope they up date for the new test structure soon!!
Upsides: we’re competitive and as a result, we answer more questions per day than if we just studied on our own. Needs improvement: the font on an iPhone is really really small, best suited for an iPad, although it seems to crash on our iPad mini 1st edition. The introduction walk through is time consuming and would be better if it gave the option to skip. Challenges are limited to those around you in ranking. We’re currently ranked #1 and we can only challenge the people ranked #2 and #3. Unfortunately, (or for them fortunately), we think 2 and 3 have tested and passed the exam because they no longer play. We challenge, no one accepts, and it times out. Still, we love the concept and it’s about as fun as one could make studying.
It’s great that they are trying to make learning for the CPA exam more interesting but the biggest problem is the font size is so small you can’t read the screen on the iPhone.
