Puzzle scoring brings an arcade game feel to sudoku and provides a metric for challenges. Sudoku Book uses an exclusive method of scoring games based on the difficulty of each answer – not based on time. Now there are two parts to the puzzle, how to solve it and how to get a higher score.
We listen to our users and have added many features based on user requests. Tech support is available within the app as a direct email to the developer. And we respond. Already in version 3 we've been in contact with many users and are fixing things based on their input.

Sudoku Book 3 adds new puzzle types and a new difficulty level. All puzzles are guaranteed to have a single solution and be solvable without guessing. Harder puzzles do require some advanced solving techniques.

We've downloaded almost a dozen Sudoku apps – maybe more between our old iPod Touch & iPad Mini 3/4 – but the only one we haven't deleted, the only one we've paid to upgrade, the only one we play – daily & far too long at a time – is Big Bad Sudoku Book. We suppose we'll find something we can endure if it goes the way of the albatross but we really don't wanna Too many want to make it "exciting & action packed colorful fun." we just want to play Sudoku & focus on solving the puzzle as efficiently as possible so we can do another. No extra "bells & whistles" needed or appreciated. This app lets us customize the solving tools we want & the option to disable the ones that annoy or we find unhelpful. It is the perfect ADHD near-OCD-about-some-things Sudoku app! We'd pay again to be able to use THIS app in iOS 11. We rarely pay to upgrade apps to "pro version" when that is an option or pay another time for upgrades because the old version is obsolete. This one is definitely on that list of "pay to continue using." we consistently play 3 games everyday for "brain calming" distraction: this, Fresh Reversi & sometimes Bejeweled Classic. This is the only app we're currently using that is on the "obsolete after iOS 11" list to whom we've written the developer directly & am updating our review to plead for upgrade. Hopefully several others will upgrade too but this is the only app for which we care sufficiently to request they upgrade! ~~~ OLD REVIEW ~~~ Eats a lot of our free time, and is great for our old brain! Loved playing pencil/paper versions, but this is even more fun! Downloaded the free version & have four book upgrades… Just because we play this so freakin' often! Only two things we'd like to see in future upgrades: 1. A place under the grid box that will show any digit that is "golden" (we've found them all of that digit) so we can see at a glance which ones we don't have to search for anymore in that game 2. The option to stats in the Leaderboard/Achievements/etc for versions of the game we can't play anymore (version 2 after the version 3 update, for example). We don't want to delete them, just have the option of looking only at the stats for the current version we're playing Thanks! Other than that, can't think of one way to improve this game.
We usually play using a pencil and eraser. Now we have the iPhone 6 plus and Sudoku book is nice on it. We use this app everyday because it is convenient.

We were upset when an update added pop up ads to the paid version. We were ready to give up on it and find another. We made our complaint to the developers and got a quick response. We are glad to say now that the ads are gone. We love this game. We love this particular layout of it. So we were very glad that they fixed it. Now we are back to 5 star. One thing we would love to see is more games with 20-22 givens. We do a lot of flipping to find them, playing a lot of 23 givens. Nothing over that, so adding more would be great.
This game is keeping us from doing anything useful. We hope they come out with some new books soon. We're almost out of new puzzles to do, and we've already redone several puzzles multiple times. Our only gripe is that occasionally, on the iphone version, we will accidentally hit the wrong number. We guess we just have fumble fingers.
We are having a hard time, apparently, hitting the right spot. We get the one next to it or under it. Maybe it's us, maybe it's the virtual keyboard. Please separate the mid size and make it larger for older eyes (and fingers). We don't know if this affects our score because we have turned everything off except highlighting the columns when they are correct. Thank you. Patricia K.
We love this app. We use it on a weekly basis. Since the last update, it lost it's capabilities to clear out the superscript numbers. For example, When large numbers are inserted, usually that same number in the same row/column/or block that are marked with a superscript disappears. It is not the case with this latest version. Please fix and update, thanks in advance.

This is a great app and a nice way to spend your time in a waiting room. Can stop at any time and come back without a problem. Fun and engaging, and will keep your mind sharp. We like it and recommend it.
Never had any tech problems, easy to use, lots of different levels, we recommend it to any one new to it or has had some sort of experience.
Then this is the best one available for iOS. We would have given it 5 stars if not for one thing. We don't think people who play Sudoku are interested in mind numbing kids games, so why bombard us with links to new games every time we start a new gave of Sudoku? We understand you want to show us you other products, but please back off just a bit.

We got this game when it first came out and had not problems. It was great for over two years. Then we were covered up with advertisements. We emailed back and forth with the developer who gave us the key to removing the advertisements. Something got messed up and the system had to be reset This was accomplished by merely clicking Extras in the app and finally making a $0.99 purchase. A very small price to rid of advertisements and enjoy this great game. Thank you Michael Gordon Atlanta USA.
This is a great version, especially since the last upgrade and enhancements. We love the placement of little numbers for "potentials" and that it erases them when you make a decision. Helps when you have trouble seeing type that small on an iPhone.

Good range of difficulty, though the Insane puzzles are not that difficult. Obviously someone has cracked the game to get impossible high scores on some levels. 9 million trillion points. Really.
