Description
BlackJack 101 is a basic strategy trainer for the game of Blackjack. This is not a Blackjack game. It deals hands and lets you practice choosing the best strategy. It has an easy-to-use strategy guide that shows the correct move for every combination of hands.
Blackjack 101 allows you to adjust the playing rules to match conditions commonly found in casinos, including the number of decks in the shoe, the dealer’s action on a soft 17, doubling rules, and surrender. It also allows you to focus your training on the trickier hands: pairs and soft hands. Plus it has both a left- and right-handed layout, to make it easy to play with one hand or two.
Introducing a new feature: Custom Hands training mode. in this mode you can choose any combination of player hands and dealer up-cards to practice. Only want to practice soft hands against a dealer’s 6? No problem. Or practice soft 14s-16s vs. any dealer card? Easy. Or get fancy and practice a hard 15 or 16, soft 13 or a pair of 4’s vs. any dealer card over 5. Any combo you can imagine.

We’ve played Blackjack for years. We understand basic strategy but struggled to memorize all the plays. With the sounds and hints this trainer made it easy Peasy.

If you are learning Blackjack this app is a hell of a lot cheaper than placing $5.00 bets at a casino trying to learn. We started with the lite version and quickly upgraded to the pro app for the customizable hands. We like that it doesnt reveal the dealers hand. That is not the point of this app. The point is to teach you the best strategy.
We upgraded to pro thinking we could eliminate the pop ups and enjoy this app. As soon as we paid for the upgrade we started getting pop ups to write a review. Cant we just play the game.
The new update improved its appearance. The only thing missing is to have the dealer finish playing its hand to see if you won or loss. 5 star app without question.
Paid .99 for an app that force closes and never once got it to open. Useless.
We must say, this is so worth the 99 cents. Maybe more! We love how you cN practice with only pairs, softs And hard plays… We’re having trouble learning the soft and pair hits and this has made it simple! Love it!!!!!
This app and the free version are awesome. The free version has all the features of this one except for small banner ads at the top. We went ahead and bought this one because the app is so good we wanted to support the creator! Anybody that wants to play blackjack with the best odds, get this and drill your basic strategy. Be advised that this is not a play-for-fun casino game version of blackjack. This is a training tool to teach basic strategy. The dealer doesn’t finish the hand–you make your decision, it’s right or wrong, and you move to the next hand instantly. You can practice strategy for different numbers of decks and common rule variations such as dealer hitting on soft 17, surrender, etc. You can work on hard hands, soft, or pairs, or all of them at 3 skill levels. There’s a strategy chart showing the right play for every hand. There is a free version of this app that disables ads, but for $0.99 it is well worth rewarding the author considering how much you will save in the casino by knowing basic strat perfectly. I’d love to see an update or add-on to help practice counts for various systems, like K-O or Hi-Lo.
This is a great app for learning the basic strategy of blackjack. It let’s you play through a hand, rather than just stop at the initial draw. As far as we know this is unique among blackjack trainers. Worth the money.
Game is ok. It needs to tell you why to make the move other than just telling you your decision is right or wrong. Needs much more instruction. Don’t waste your money if your trying to learn BJ. There has to be better out there.
This is a great trainer app if you really want to master your stills in BJ (i.e. Blackjack!). It is based on the best strategy that was invented by that MIT guy. Also the programs ability to fine tune the rules makes it really useful. If you are playing in a casino where the dealer stays at soft 17 then just chose that rule and practice your play according to that rule. This application is a very customizable BJ teacher. For exampe you can learn and practice how to play split cards only, which are not usually easy to play. You can also follow your stats and see when you can go out there and beat the house! You will also be able to see what is your edge under what rules. In conclusion, this app is a must for those who are serious about BlackJack and want to know how to play the best strategy depending on different house rules. We don’t know if you can beat Las Vegas with this app, but you can always try!
Learning basic strategy by looking at a sheet and trying to memorize might be okay for those with photographic minds, but for the rest of us, this app allows you to learn by practice. It can be set to practice all hands, or the slightly more difficult soft and split hands seperatly. We hightly recommend this app for anyone that would like to improve their blackjack play. Although it doesn’t include card counting, most casino’s look slightly unfavorably on that practice anyway. Basic strategy doesn’t give you an edge over the house, but it does help to "lighten" the odds. If you want to improve your Blackjack game.. Get this app.
Awesome app if you want to learn truly solid blackjack strategy. Quick response, easy to get in lots of reps and check the card whenever you need to. All the features you need without the price of some other coaching programs. Definitely give it a shot – there’s nothing better than making the right move at the table, especially when other players give you crap and you can put them in their place. Except maybe taking the house for some $$ :)
