Loved seeing some good satire in a gamified version of slack. Recommended to anyone who has worked in big tech companies.
This game reminds us a lot of the game Tender. We love these kinds of narrative stories told through an every day interface but its hard to ever feel immersed in this game because of the fact that you have to do things through chapters. We want to be able to open up the app, respond to someones message and the close it. It also feels very prescriptive that as soon as you respond to someones message, you will always receive another message in a different channel. Tender takes things a little slower and makes it more realistic, sometimes you will have conversations that are longer but then sometimes you have to wait a little bit for a response. We really want to love this game but it feels just a little too rigid/linear for us to feel fully immersed in this world.
No more messages after drink emoji. Our session was not saved. Seems adorable if we can move forward.
We were promoted to CEO in about half an hour of play and then we couldnt go back and play any of the chapters again to unlock other channels. At one point in the game a character didnt understand the emoji we were using and made the (correct) decision for us. Its a cute idea but it just doesnt seem like there enough content here yet.
The plot and ridiculousness of the characters are hilarious but also a perfect satire of a cringey silicon valley tech company! We found ourselves rolling our eyes and gasping at what was happening on this company slack channel, but then realized how cleverly based on reality it was! Overusing the eggplant emoji is fun as well.
Anybody who has ever worked a dysfunctional job and gossiped with coworkers in side channels can relate to this game. The amount of gameplay is well worth the $ and Im enjoying replaying it to get all the emoji.
Love this game, so different and fun. Highly recommend.

Have you ever wondered what it was like to work in Silicon Valley? Chief Emoji Officer will open your eyes to the interpersonal relationships in that setting. Can you start and have a relationship with your director (a fox)? Sure, if you are willing to work hard. Do you want to help change the (third) world? Start a revolution? All of these can be accomplished while climbing to the top and becoming the C.E.O.
Super awesome game, our new favorite that we cant stop playing.
This game was totally cathartic and made us laugh so many times. We cant wait to play again and unlock new emojis.
