A bit clunky, but overall good.

Lots of options in tactics, albeit the tactics could use more complexities. Maybe it is due to the game being so small, but that should be no excuse to hinder today’s Apps. More skills and item customization, it would have easily become be of the best strategy RPG on iOS.

We’ve really enjoyed this game, but after the second or third play through it gets stale very quickly. If there’s no update soon we may just delete this app due to its low replayability.

A different take on the typical iPad game with a Fun and often humorous story. So far we haven’t seen any bugs or problems. This one has our undivided attention!

Not really lacking in anything. This game is worth the admission price.

Enjoying it so far- good controls and enjoyable story.

Decent strategy, fun story. Worth the $ to play the campaign.

Challenging and involved. Great story.

Sweet game. Use the pause button.

This is quite a fun RPG. Similar to PC titles that cost much more.

This is a wonderful gem of a strategy game, the controls are very responsive and easy to use. We found myself wishing some battles were turn based as opposed to rts but have to admit the rts gives the game more of a challenge that actually keeps us on our toes. We haven’t gone through the whole game but the story so far is just right, doesn’t bog down the game but the characters are unique and we find myself intrigued and wanting to know more. Story and fun gameplay makes it a win.

Fun game with few flaws. Waiting for new expansion.

After reading a couple comments about the game on a forum by the games designer we bought it to support him, the game has not disappointed although it is hard to get used to. But hey what isn’t thats worth playing. Would highly recommend!!!!!!!

This game is a great homage to turn based RPGs like Baldur’s Gate (one of our favorite games of all time). Decent story (though occasionally slightly awkward text), good enough graphics (isometric would have been nicer and easier to differentiate characters), interesting audio (character voices actually sound like foreign languages), good gameplay mechanics, and a decent UI (a couple things could have been streamlined, like making the inventory bag be the inv/char button as well). Picking up the controls takes bit of practice, but the tutorial is pretty good. Our main complaint is with the pause timer. Games like this are meant to be paused for setting up tactics. Forcing the player to hurry through these decisions doesn’t make sense – you don’t get extra points or anything (except an achievement, but that’s only if you play with the short timer). If it was multiplayer that would be different. For the long timer mode, there shouldn’t be a timer at all. Otherwise fun game so far (only in the second level – we’re hoping the environments vary more after getting out of the dungeon). [Update] Got to the level with the dragon (not sure if it’s the end?) and we’ve now lowered our rating for two reasons. One, the tile set never changed – always the dungeons. After a while it gets old. And second, the fight with the dragon is annoying. When he gets low on health, he keeps teleporting back and forth between two locations, making it next to impossible to kill him. We spent probably 30-45 minutes fighting him and never killed him. It’s not hard, it’s just annoying as hell. We’re done with the game. Besides Baldur’s Gate comes out in a couple weeks – no reason to have this mediocre game anymore.

It’s nearly impossible to get your units to do what you want in real time. The developers know this which is why they added this "tactical pause" thing. Unfortunately we find that hack much too annoying.

This game simple to control and very enjoyable.

We’re definitely enjoying this game. A dungeon crawler with role playing elements, it is proving to be fairly challenging but not exceedingly hard. We like the atmosphere and so far the story is a good one. Game mechanics work very well, and once you know how things work, the interface is quite intuitive. Once in a while the action can overwhelm our ability to multi task, but this is probably due to our being used to turn based games. And it’s not a problem anyway, as you are only set back to the last quick save. We like too, how the four characters have definite niches.

A real treat. Something a bit different. Great graphics along with simple interface and sometimes devilish fights. We especially like the teamwork aspect of this game. This is a must buy at 99 cents!

Great game. Very old school feel to it. Kinda reminds us of the old d and d games. Buy this. Well worth the money.

We picked this game up on a whim and on the strength of all the reviews. One of the best games we’ve played so far. Don’t let the graphics fool you, this game has some deep strategic elements. It reminds us of diablo with all the dungeons and loot you can gather. But expands on it even more with allowing you to control 4 party members and allowing you to pause all the hectic action to give out orders. Nice story as well.

So far we have found this game to be easy to play and enjoyable, no complaints. Keep up the good work!

For those of you who can walk and chew gum at the same time, get this! Boo-hoo reviewers whine it’s hard to control the four "companions"… Pffftt… Great game and especially for 99 cents. Lots to do, see, and collect.

This is the most addictive game we’ve ever played on IOS. The graphic, the story and the balance of the game are almost perfect. And we don’t get it why the score is so low. This game totally deserves a five star.

Game is extremely fun! Make sure you save frequently, because you never know when you will open a door and mass amounts of skeletons will kill you.

If you have played far enough to write a review … Too late. So far a very interesting game.

Reminds us a little of Baldurs Gate without the benefit of mouse controls.

This game is fantastic. The interface can take a while to get used to, but once you master it, the game is inmensely satisfying. Nothing beats the feeling of having crafted a perfect strategy. That moment you see the enemy get trapped by your spiked floor, as your gladiator jumps behind them swinging its axe around, your elf raining arrows on them and your mage casts a vortex… Its just great. Another commenter said micromanaging at its worst. We think that’s a matter of taste. For us, its micromanaging at its best (not too much, not too little). It is true, the game is slow and methodical, you must constantly build traps, mind your formation and position and a small mistake can mean an instant death. Fortunately, the strategic pause is great and the game has a good save system. With both used properly, the game is the PERFECT challenge.

We must admit that we had our doubts initially, but the game has definitely grown on us the more we have played it. All in all, the game is very well done and the story becomes more engrossing as the quest progresses. Our only complaint is that it very easy to lose track of all your characters when things become hectic which almost always leads to someone dying (a.k.a- game over). Other than that, we highly recommend the game for anyone looking for an intelligent strategy-based game.

Nice game, great concept and graphics, but TOO HARD. It’s not fun when you keep getting killed in EVERY combat. Hit points don’t regenerate over time so even running from an opponent doesnt save you like most RPG’s…

Fun game , but we do not like the interface, should be more responsive, should not have to rely so much on the pause button to make sure your characters are not doing something stupid. Our minitaur standing two squares away from something …. And ignoring it is just plain supid! Would have been a MUCH better game as a turn based game like tactics, or jean de arc…. Has potential but seems forced as a real time game with a pause.

We bought this before realizing it’s iPad only. Make it universal and we will change our score.

A challenge for an old guy like us. A fun game. Don’t be dissuaded by the tutorial. Use the tutorial to learn, then play the campaign. You can’t "win" the tutorial.

You can easily spend hours running this little D&D style app! Very enjoyable once you figure out the interface. Well worth the small amount of money it cost. Would highly recommend this to anyone that has ever enjoyed playing fantasy RPG style games!

Very nice dungeon crawler. Hopefully more updates are incoming.

You develop your characters individually then explore to join them together. Some of the battles are hard, so save frequently–especially after you find something neat. We’re having lots of fun. Don’t spend lots of $ the first time you find a store–a couple of bucks will get you enough tokens to trade for gold enough to buy everything in the store.

Lots of and worth the 99 cents. Hours of game play.

It’s kinda like diablo, without the multiplayer. It’s keeping us amused for over 20 hours so far.

GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!! We would like to see you add more to the game. Looking forward to it.

It’s a good stratagem game we say this not only because of the double meaning in the definition of stratagem but also the in the separation of the words syllables. We see this game as a hidden gem.

This is a great game, one of our favourite RPGs on the iPad. Our review goes to 5 stars once it is finished!

This is a decent game. There is a lot to like about the overall design and character system, but the interface is sub-optimal and there are times when the action that you want to execute is not what is actually performed due to the small hit boxes and how easy it is for the game to misread character movement instead of map scrolling and vice versa. This could be a 4 or 5 star game with a better interface.

Our favorite type of game but the implementation is such that any minor mistake and you lose a party member. You then lose and have to start over. Would have been better turn based.
