Community Insight:

This is a very fun way to play competitive crosswords. Our only complaint is that the notifications to tell you that its your turn stopped after the first day. Ive doubled checked all our settings, and nothing seems to make the notifications work. Otherwise, lots of fun.

There are two guys that write these crosswords, Mark and Peter. Marks puzzles are fun, but Peters are full of obscure clues that only Peter and his mom know the answers to. It seriously takes the fun out of the game. Also a LOT of ads, but you can just close the app and they disappear. We demand more Mark puzzles, Peter needs to go play Sudoku or something.

Absolutely love this app, unfortunately, we cannot figure out a way to get notifications to work on iPhone but we had no issues when we had a Google pixel.

We had to remove the app and find another. While we understand there is a need for the ads, its not worth making two moves and then having to watch for such a long ad. Sorry.

Very fun way to play crossword with others. You never know who will win.

First night with this app. Finally can play crossword competitively. Thank you. We tend not to play with ourselves, only with others. ;).

Ive been waiting for a competitive crossword app for ages. Now we can play with our gf while away for work.

We really like the concept of this game. Like Othello, Stones, etc., but with words. The user interface is really easy to learn and works well. (Some of the reviews say there is no keyboard to enter a word after unlocking a clue. Each turn is broken down into 2 parts. Each part can be used to unlock a clue, reveal a letter or fill in a word. Unlocking a clue requires 1 partit does not automatically let you enter a word. You have to choose the Fill in word option, and then the keyboard will be available. The tutorial tips explain it all clearly.) That said… On the other hand, we just wish it had a one-time purchase cost or ad-removal cost, rather than requiring users to repeatedly pay for temporary(6 months) ad-free play. If you play against an opponent who has not removed ads, the delays will still affect both players. First, we are not one to resent a developer for using ads and/or micro-transactions in their game. Thats just how the free-to-play app system works, and hopefully no one expects a creator to not get some compensation. It takes a lot of work to develop and upkeep a game. Second, we are not against repeated or subscription charges in a game IF it actually provides something extra or valuable. But we do not want to have to pay repeatedly to NOT have something happen. Unfortunately, there is a double standard when it comes to ads. Advertisers pay developers to put ads in their game, but developers too often use ads as an annoyance mechanism to push players into paying for their removal. In our opinion…just another piece of a cracked economic system. But again…the game itself is great.

We were excited with we saw this, instantly downloaded it. Went through the tutorial and started to play, couldnt figure it out. Not user friendly. Tried to complete a vertical word and it started to fill on horizontal without seeing the clue. Got frustrated within 5 min and deleted app.

Im always down for a new crossword game, but this one seems to have a bug. You unlock a clue to answer it, but no keyboard pops up. How are you supposed to play if you cant type.

First, you tap to unlock a clue, but then theres no keyboard that pops up so you can fill in an answer! This is a total waste of time.
