Very challenging, but rewarding once you finish.
We have had this app for years. Use it daily. Recently the ad count has shot up. Every button hit to navigate causes an ad to appear and these are not the short ones. These last forever and has taken all the joy out of using the app. Please fix! Or create an ad free version that is affordable.
…..had this App for a long time….your upgrade now renders the App useless…lost all our puzzle data trying to open App we had… And downloading latest version will not open, crashes immediately….why upgraded an app that functioned perfectly to one that is so unstable it wont even open?…. ..well, you got most of the above fixed but now with your addition of pop up adds for various apps it has turned into a nightmare againsome pop ups you can not get rid of at all, they lock up your screen with no recourse but to reboot and hope that will get rid of the the the intrusive adv..this used to be a great app but you guys just keep tinkering with something that used to work perfectly.we dont mind too terribly an adv. Once In awhile but not when they hijack the app and lock up ones screen regularlyIm going good looking for something that worksnice work guys, youve now got a product that drives people away.
The latest update kills horizontal navigation. It will only give you vertical movement. The button to switch from vertical to horizontal doesnt work either. App is useless.
Fantastic app with very few issues and much enjoyment.
We really enjoy getting to choose a crossword puzzle that we can actually do. However, lately some ads cannot be made to go away. They do not respond to touching the X in the upper corner or to anything else. So we just go away and maybe come back later to see if its gone. Wish they would fix it.
Used to be great but now the ads have become overwhelming.
We did not know the iPad could get malware. But the app keeps forcing other apps to open in the background. It had something to do with the ads when you try to click them to close it actually opens another app even when you hit the button that says close. Even in the free crosswords, it makes you watch entire ads. Other people have complained and the developer gaslights them.
Wonderful app so gave it 5 stars but suddenly out working on older iPad: Worked until a week or two ago and suddenly wont open, Appears on screen briefly and suddenly vanishes. Any thoughts? Update 2-2-23 we uninstalled this app and reinstalled it but it still didnt work. Maybe iPad too old.
We love this app. Lots of variety and skill levels. Just enough challenge to make it interesting without frustration.

Newsday puzzle on 11/11/2022 54 down clue says Current measure. Answer is Amps but puzzle has Ohms. Ohms measures resistance not current.
We like coming back daily to a new set of puzzle. We have been looking for an app like thisthanks.
Really like this app because it has a large variety of puzzles. We also appreciate that it is very light on ads. It is pretty much a breath of fresh air compared to what else is out there.
The games are great but having all of the political ads is a pain. Ill go back to playing after the elections so we can avoid them.
Like the app but it will tell you 7 of8 puzzles downloaded but only 3 or 4 show. Very frustrating can only get 4 puzzles after it say 7 were downloaded never gets better time todelete Now the discover ad takes over and cant do puzzles.
There are sometimes errors in the answers. The Universal Crossword for July 2,2022 asked What the A in NATO stands for? The correct answer would be Atlantic but the solved crossword showed Alfa.
We love this particular game ! Ive never had any problems with it. There are so many different puzzles! There are/were times we would go back and forth trying to choose which one to do! Thank you for this app. Please dont change it.
Love, love, love this app. Great puzzles daily. The best part is the minimal time (5 seconds or less) of ads.
We enjoy being able to get different difficulty of puzzles. The variety of puzzles makes the app enjoyable. The addition of the locked puzzles is also nice. The ads are not obtrusive or annoying to the game. Nice way to start our day.
Why did the mini puzzle disappear.
This version is terrible. The black squares make it impossible to read. Also,we find it hard to see how many letters each clue has. We are ready to get rid of this. Bring back the old version.
We have really enjoyed this app until the newest update. The lettering is smaller and we can not move the puzzle around to get better spacing when solving. We need to make numerous corrections because the square we hit was not the square we wanted. Very difficult to send review!!!! Updated: we were informed of being able to change back to previous screen setting. Thank you for your response to our rating!!!! We will again enjoy very much.
Latest suggestion after most recent fix did not work. Would suggest going back to the most recent version prior to last update. Excellent response time on issue. 14+ iOS not viable for us at this time. Game opened with same cover and list, but game itself has regressed to what appears to be an antiquated version. All puzzles have black squares instead of white, mini puzzles have no squares at all. Why did the developer just go back to the version that was working prior to the glitch. Impossible to play. Extremely upset that we our have to permanently delete our favorite game. This is perhaps the finest crossword puzzle game we've ever seen or played. Suddenly just after midnight it would not load. It would try and we could see the opening screen but in less than a second it crashed. We have double checked and the parameters for our IPad are ok. We even deleted it and reinstalled. If our IPad were not compatible the system would have told us. We miss this game and would like to know what can be done to make this right.
Update: Developer emailed us to say you can change back to the previous view in the settings, thank you! We have used this app for some time and have really enjoyed the ability to access and complete the crosswords. The recent update however has made the puzzles and keyboard tiny, and much more difficult to see and read. We see how they were trying to get the entire puzzle in view above the keyboard but we much preferred the previous version – you had to scroll a bit side to side or up and down, but it was larger and easier to see.
Ive been playing and loving your puzzles daily. Loved them! What did u do in the last update? Logged in and its different. HATE HATE HATE IT! Print and boxes too small. Cant see them. Too small for fingers. The great blue background which highlighted the letters is gone. Its terrible. Now we have to find another puzzle! The old format was so easy to use. You ruined it.
This was the best crossword app we had found until the last update which makes you watch the entire ad instead of allowing you to close the ad after about 10 seconds, unless you allow the app to track you. The cost of the ad free version is outrageous!! Needs to allow you to choose which puzzles you see.
The new format hurts our eyes!! Please change back to the old format.
The latest version brings up a screen asking you to allow personalized ads on the next screen, but never gives you the option to opt in. Every time you open it, you have to click on the NEXT button one more time than the last. It is no longer usable.
We liked the old format a lot better. We do like getting many puzzles easily.
Even though it became obvious that MANY were created by the same person or software. Two days ago they did a so called update and now look like OLD dos format. Cant stand it. Go back to the prior version.
Just deleted the app. The new update makes the puzzle grid too hard to see for we older people. The new typing surface is too small. Dont understand why developers have to mess with something that works.
The latest update no longer runs on our iPad mini.

After years of another game (unnamed and deleted) we gave this one a try. Impressive game. Free. No changing rules. Just puzzles, puzzles, puzzles. Try it please.
Im so happy we found this app!! You get 10 daily puzzles. Each day you get new ones. When the word or letter you type in is wrong, it will type in red, so you know its wrong. Thats helpful for us! Love this crossword app.
We had an issue and the developer responded very fast. More important, we were updated regularly.
Love playing the LA Times crossword on this app! Just wish we could listen to music and podcasts while doing so.
We love working these puzzles every day, however the ad keeps getting stuck and will not let you close the ad when touching the X.
You need to fix the sizing on your ads for the iPhone 12. Many of the ads have the x too close to the corner of the screen to close it. We have to cycle through ads until we find one that has the x low enough to click on.
We really like this app but starting about a month ago we cannot close out some of the ads. Specifically, the Fishdom ads. We can see the X in the upper left corner of our screen but unable to select it on our iPhone Xr.
Im torn. We love the idea but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. We came from the Android world and the free Shortyz crossword app is the gold standard there. This is the same idea, a daily aggregator that keeps your interest. But why use the edges of the phone screen like you do? We can abide the ads to enjoy the app but when you cant close them because that tiny X resides deep in the curve of the 12 Pro Max screen makes it beyond frustrating. Also the keyboard row at the bottom either doesnt respond right half the time or shifts the view. We wish there was a way to choose how the working spot on the grid responds after you complete a word. We sometimes work in sections and the screen jumps around too much for our liking. Other than that we love the experience. But please address these problems tat we see others have complained about for a long time.
We can't listen to music, podcasts, or audiobooks while using this app, it automatically stops any other sounds playing in the background.
Pop up ads wont let us X out and we cant get into our puzzle, very frustrating.
Unable to close a lot of the ads on iPhone 11 when the close button is in the extreme upper corner. Had to delete and wont be using – disappointingly useless when this happens.
Great daily exercise to keeps the brain sharp. Fantastic way to start the day.

There are many puzzles but you rarely ever get a ad come up.
The variety and number of puzzles make it easy to find challenges for a lot of levels of playing.
Good puzzles for all levels. We like the Mini puzzle because can play quickly. We like that you can find out a letter if you get stuck. We like that you have lots of choices of puzzles.
