One fun app..love cryptic crosswords.. (once in while they dont always make sense), but overall this is one great app.. We would definitely recommend this with the caveat: that cryptic crosswords dont always make sense (no matter how much you research and really look into the answers to try and understand them), but this doesnt deter us from thisas its truly a fun way to learn and be entertained engaging.
One of the best cryptic crossword apps around. Ross the Dog is there to assist with hints and explain the reasoning behind each answer. Plus you can import crosswords from other sources, or even take a picture of a crossword and clues and he will help you with those as well! And now, in addition to the crosswords that come with the app, there are additional multipacks and daily bites, little mini crosswords to get your quick fix. Highly recommend.
Our mind is blown! Not just that this is possible, but that someone put in the time and effort to do it, considering how cryptics are relatively niche. The AI and the way its output is presented is extremely well done.
If you enjoy crosswords, particularly cryptic ones, this app is worthwhile. The AI is a bit limited at times, but surprisingly intuitive at other times. The ability to import crosswords from sites like The Guardian or to capture crosswords from photos are both is a nice feature.
Im learning how to solve cryptic crosswords, and this app is fantastic for that! Other apps can tell you the answer to a clue, but this is the only one Ive found that actually explains how the cryptic part works to give the answer, which is exactly what we need.
Trying to learn to solve cryptic crosswords for the first time is extremely daunting. We can reveal answers for clues but not always see how those answers are reached. This is the first app Ive found that could explain not only its own clues, but those of any cryptic crossword we attempt. We are blown away by the functionality and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn to solve a cryptic crossword.
As an American tackling cryptic crosswords from The Telegraph, we were keen to try this app. Sometimes Ross and we are both at a loss to explain how an answer works, but mostly he (the app) is spot on! Easy to use, fun interface (Ross), and helpful – thanks.
