This game is very fun, but once we filled out the music pack and completed all the levels, the puzzle froze and wont register as complete, even if we swipe on all the words and fill them in. If this could be fixed that would be great.
Ive played this game for years and of course have watched it grow. With that comes seeing its flaws and best moments. Unfortunately, we are unable to solve a puzzle without ads after solving every word. It is extremely frustrating. We know free games come with ads but the amount of ads in this game is astronomical. You go to press on something then boom an ad.
On this version, often when you complete one level it doesnt allow you to move to the next one.
Crossword critique Ive loved this game for a long time. We play it every day! For that reason, we are giving it four stars. But the reason Im writing this review is because the recent update that was posted about a week ago has really made the game a lot less fun to play. It looks like the whole game was reprogrammed, but not for the better. We will try to explain why in detail, with hopes that this will be helpful and inspire some changes to make it more like the old game experience. There used to be a satisfying rippling sound when you dragged your finger across the squares to select the next clue. Now it is silent. The celebration sound for getting the right answer is mistimed. It happens before the sound of placing the last letter when it should happen after this. The animation for placing the last letter is still happening as the celebration sound plays. This is a very jarring experience. It used to be perfectly timed. We dont like the pig smiling sound happening every time you get a word. Its too much. The pictures are smaller than they used to be. (Theres plenty of room for them to be bigger and easier to see!) The graphics are cut off by the notch at the top of the screen on the iPhone. They used to flow around it. The text in the textual clues is bigger and in a different font than before. We liked the old font. The Bonus Coins animation (the one after certain games, where you randomly get 20, 30, 40, or 50 coins) moves too fast now and doesnt have sound for each movement. It used to start fast then slow down and build suspense before revealing the selected bonus, with sound for each movement. The previous behaviour was much more satisfying. The sign into Game Center message comes up every time we launch the game. We dont want to sign into Game Center. Please dont show the message so often. When solving a clue, the solution (ie the squares where you place the letters) seems to be smaller? Its hard on the eyes. The cascading bonus coins that appear sometimes while playing a game seem to occur at arbitrary times and is just confusing. It seems to happen a lot; Ive gotten it multiple times in one puzzle, again at random times. (Thanks for the coins though!) The photo clues take much more time to load than they did previously. When you enter into a puzzle clue, theres a blank white placeholder frame that sometimes takes a full second to be replaced by the photo clue. If Im remembering correctly, the Use Coins button that comes up when you opt to buy a puzzle solution looks smaller than it used to be, and can be more difficult to hit than it used to be. The daily roll for bonus coins doesnt make fun noises as it selects the amount anymore. Also the CONTINUE button is really tiny. Far too small. The roll for todays coins doesnt seem to be working properly. Sometimes it just doesnt roll, instead it just shows the ad to purchase coins. When it does work, its always stuck on day 1 even if its tapped two days in a row. We never get the Day 2, Day 3, etc behaviors. Selecting the next word to guess isnt as responsive as it used to be. You used to be able to select one immediately after solving a word, now it makes you wait for the animation to start and play for a moment before you can select a new word to solve. Several places where the text size varies too much and looks distracting, where an element on the page has text either much bigger or much smaller than other elements on the page. It looks like the latest update reset the achievements, so Im getting free coins we dont deserve, for things like solve a daily puzzle or spend coins, which we already got achievements for months ago More annoyingly, the latest update seems to have locked all the puzzles we have paid to unlock in the past, and marked them as unplayed/uncompleted. Ive paid coins to unlock about 15-20 of the puzzles, but after the latest update, all the puzzles are now locked except the five free puzzles (most of which we had completed, but are now showing 0%). We hope that these issues can be looked at, and would love it if the next update could either roll back to the last version of the game, or at the very least if the gameplay could be improved in each of the reported points. Thank you for your attention, and thank you for producing what used to be a wonderful game. It can be wonderful again! FOUR STARS! :).
We dont know what happened, or what you did, but whatever it was has made it the biggest pain in the butt to play now. It does not fit the screen of our iPad anymore! Too big and the bottom ad covers the bottom row of the puzzle now. Youve got some splainin to do!! After updating, it cleared up the size issueThanks!.
Ive played this game and loved it for years, and we had significant progress in all of the categories. However, this new update just deleted all of our progress. Im annoyed because of the time that Ive put into this game.
We love this game. Its fun and relaxing but after every 3rd word we solve we have an ad!!!! Super annoying.
You play one row of the puzzle and afterwards, an ad pops up. So, every time you get one part of the puzzle right, another ad pops up. TERRIBLE.
Too many ads and too expensive to remove them. We did like the game though.
We subscribed for the monthly subscription that was free for 3 days. Money was removed from our account and then we received an error message that the subscription was invalid with code invld we called our bank to dispute charge and removed the subscription. Great game. Played it many years ago. Apparently the company ramdonlogic has too much corporate greed now. Too bad.
We enjoy playing this game but today we opened it and lost all of our progress and dont have any of the categories we opened unlocked anymore. We may end up deleting it because we dont want to redo them all again even though we somehow still have our coins.
Had great time with this game. Enjoyed it for a long time. Last game update cleared our all our daily games Ive done! Now to get them back we have to spend coins and redo them! Disappointed! We enjoy doing the daily puzzles.

Ive been playing this game for like 2-3 years now, but ever since the most recent update, theres an ad after every word! We feel as if the company behind this game Randomlogic, is forcing ads just to make people buy the premium subscription. Look, we get that youre showing ads in order to make a profit, but this is just way too excessive. Since this game hasnt been updated in 6 months, we feel as if the developers just simply abandoned this game to work on other apps.
If you like ads popping up after every clue, this is the game for you. Its a very good game actually. Its just the constant ads.
Seriously, a 30 second ad for every single clue. Deleted the game after spending 15 minutes watching ads during a 20 minute game session.
We understand that free versions of games have ads and all, but this is unplayable! To have a 30 second to 1 minute ad play after EVERY WORD is just out right ridiculous! We remember downloading and playing this a couple of years ago and the ads werent so bad, maybe 1 ad every 5-8 words!? But now they play after every word just to make you want to purchase the game which makes the free version pointless.
We love this game so much & its so fun to play! We have completed all of the levels and we were wondering when more levels were coming out.

Literally get an ad every two rows we get correct. Cant play like that.
Its actually been over a year since we toushed this app, but we were stuck in a boredom moment, so we gave it a shot. One puzzle. One freaking puzzle, 14 ads. Thats garbage. We actually came in here to leave a semi-critical review, but then we saw in the app description the sheer amount of data this game mines from us. This game is only a legal definition away from spyware, and has been removed from our system, and will never return.
Not a bad game but an add after almost every question just takes the fun out of the game.

We tap on the crossword and no clues come up. Just a blinking purple square that goes through the puzzle. Lame.

We love this game. Its different because we can choose our categories.
Dont waste your time. Impossible to play a round you earn with your coins without an add every 4 answers. Once you earn a bunch of credits, it conveniently freezes so you cant earn more. This app is not for you to enjoy but rather for you to watch tons of ads.
This game is great for when your bored and looking for something to do. It has lots of categories but we say that it could use a couple more categories like a mythology category.

Fun game and we were enjoying playing it but the daily puzzle freezes pretty much every day. We have to restart the game often 10 times or more to get it to work; sometimes we just give up. Support doesnt get back to you. Frustrating.

After just a few minutes we began questioning the intelligence of the developers. We were bored and thought a crossword puzzle would be relaxing so we downloaded the app. Out of curiosity we got the history category. Im studying archival science while working in a museum so naturally we love history and had high hopes. We quickly realized the devs had very little knowledge on history let alone the proper names for 80% of what they were showing. Not everyone may know what a halberd is but everyone will assume at first glance it is not a spear. They showed a picture of the Judaean fortress of Masada and we got excited that they would include such a beautiful place so few know about. We were quickly disappointed as we realized the word was citadel. Not only is it not a citadel but it comes nowhere close to fitting the characteristics of one. Just so we knew we wasnt lying in what Im about to say, it took us about 30 seconds to find a description on google. In other words, if you are going to advertise yourself as the best crossword app you might want to actually research the words that belong to the pictures you show. 30 seconds people, its not difficult. We would gladly pay for such an app if it was accurate and actually challenging. The only challenge this app provides is discerning what random word they decided to attach to a picture.
Love this game when it works! If you don't get some new games we are going to delete you! Need more new games!! How come the help answers aren't coming up it has been on April the 8th and nothing else.
We love this game however its starting to get a tad boring with finishing all the achievements and almost all of the categories we feel like there should be more.

We dont mind ads but these are too long compared to other similar game apps. For instance, after five to ten seconds, you click the x but then it just resets to another version of the same app and can go as long as 25 seconds. Too long. Deleted app.
The amount of ads and the LENGTH of the ads on this game are ridiculous! Completely takes the fun out of playing.

This has too many adds. We were willing to pay to not have the adds, but then saw it was a pricey subscription model and we are not willing to do that. So, in the end, we deleted.
Purchased remove ads. Got a new iPad and restore in app purchases did nothing. Now they want us to pay again to get rid of ads. Also had built up hundreds of coins used to help with puzzles and lost all of them. Apple says it is a developer problem and developer says it is Apple's problem. Deleted app from our iPad.
Fun game, luckily they fixed the bug that was causing excessive ads, so Id definitely recommend.
Paid $1.99 plus tax to remove ads and now apparently we cant play anymore except 1 day puzzle. Not cool.
