Description

Steering, speeding up, braking, cutting, blocking: who is the smartest driver in this strategic racing game, leaving his opponents behind and passing the finishing line first?

Dash Race is the electronic version of a popular turn-based paper game that can be played everywhere at any time, because all you need is a sheet of squared paper and colored pencils – or Dash Race for even more fun and challenges.

Up to four players make their moves in turns, following very simple rules. This results in an amazingly realistic driving behavior. In order to take curves at optimal speed, you’ll need experience and dexterity. Play the pure and truly timeless strategic variant in "Classic Mode", or turn to the breath-taking "Challenge Mode" for a wild arcade-style Dash Race.

  • A training course will interactively introduce you to the secrets of Dash Race and prepare you for races against others

Dash Race Reviews

We download this game with our iPad mini back in 2012, now Im still playing it with our iPad pro.

What a polished smooth grid racer based on very simple rules but leading into realistic driving behavior! It supports single play with robots of which you can adjust their driving abilities, tracks your racer stats, let’s you race your "ghost", offers 11 full themed tracks with 9 extra for in app purchase, has a thorough introduction tutorial and plenty of extra online help in an optional section, let’s you play your own music, but best of yet supports many options for multiplayer with up to 3 other players including single device pass n play, game enter connection, and multi device play through wifi or Bluetooth. The whole user interface is well designed with no glitches or crashing on iOS 8.2! There are 2 modes of gem play which are classic and an exciting challenge mode! Turns and starting positions of each round are decided randomly. The only feature missing is the ability to draw your own racing tracks and save them which would add immensely to the replay value even if this featured were limited by allowing you to only draw the tracks with plain old black singly sized lines so as not to compete with the extra themed tracks sold by the developer. We would even pay for this extra feature as an in app purchase! Thank you developer for bringing this wonderful app to the App Store and introducing us to this solid game! We can’t wait to play this with friends!

Dash Race is a solid line/square graph paper racer… It is closer to real racing than you might think, especially if you are the type to pay attention to racing lines. More free tracks would be nice, in addition to networked multiplayer. The main issue with the game is that it crashes fairly often on our iPhone 6.

Very easy to just download and start playing. The levels get increasingly difficult and takes a while to master. We wonder if this game is based off of an older game that we don’t know of?

We can’t even dream to see best game of our childhood on iPad. It’s like traveling dozens years back in time. This version also features nice graphics, fancy levels and AI that is pleasure to play with. Highly recommend.

Such a simple game, and yet you really have to plan your next move. Fun to play with the kids. Very user friendly. Would be cool if you could create your own track. Love this game!

Reminds us of old school games.

Fantastic game that recreates a paper and pencil classic.

Plaid it at school in our math class and loved it. Plaid it at uni with friends and loved it. And now we play it on our ipad. THANK YOU!

Love the challenges; addictive; unique game. Nicely done!

Good game to play with our wife.

We were hoping that someone would make a race game like this. Very cool. Smooth fluid play, tons of fun. I’d like to send the developer a virtual beer and good karma!! Well worth the price.

We’re sad we didn’t know about this growing up. We love paper and pen games. Especially when they’re enhanced with technology and graphics.

Nice & funny good for wasting time.

We love this game, thank you for the update!

Excellent way to waste a dat. Part line drawing game and part racer. Easy to pick up and very enjoyable! Recommended.

Very fun game. Really enjoy playing.

Pay 99 cents for a pretty okay game, sure! But then pay 99 more cents for the right to import specific developer-supplied graphics into the game? And the sum of all those "track packs" costing far more than the base price of the game itself? We feel like we just paid for the right to pay more, hyuck!

Although we’ve never heard of this game, we found it very easy to understand how to play it. It’s also very fun and multiplayer over Internet works great… Even has voice chat! Those who say "too many instructions"… Or "it won’t let us steer"… Or "the controls are too difficult": we strongly suggest you play the tutorial (and so does the program). Here’s a quick summary of the moving instructions: You can only move the same distance and direction as your previous move, or to the eight points around that point. To select which of the nine points you will move to: hold your finger down (anywhere not on top of the dots, so you can see what you’re doing) then drag to the dot you want. Lift your finger then double tap. That’s it. Remember that you will need to slow down (by picking dots closer to you) in order to make turns.

Easy to play, fun and addictive. Wish it did have a few more maps, but for free game we are not complaining. We do not understand the people who comment that it is too difficult??? Could not be simpler!

We had never played this game on paper but we like it a lot on the iPhone. We think a Game Center turn based multiplayer would be awesome.

IPAD with OS5.0.1 First review on App Store EVER!. Had to though, because we have thoroughly enjoyed this game. More of a puzzle than an arcade game, it’s kept us entertained for hours. Tried all the maps, against one or three robots set for various levels of driving skills. There’s even a starting line with "inside and outside" lanes that rotate everytime you play. For a real challenge, play with all 3 robots, cranked up, in the 4th starting position. Just when you think you’ve mapped out the perfect route and speeds, the bots start blocking you. For a twist, try running the courses backwards against the bots. PROS -Can’t believe we haven’t played this game on paper. -Simple game that anyone can play, but difficult to maser (practice does may you better) – it was free (promotional?) – Remember Ghost mode. It shows you your last path around the track. Cons – Music get tedious real quick – There’s an occasional glitch where you set for a bit – Some of the starting postions are a little unfair. – we wish the Robots were even smarter. I’d like to learn from them ;-) – we cannot find anyone to play mutliplayer with ;-(

Good try, especially for multiplayers.

Never heard of this game before. Now we can play on our phone or on paper! Really cool game.

The game for multiplayer is great but there are a lot of bugs.

This is a fun, turn based, strategic, racing game. Good stuff.

We love this simple, easy distraction. Fun to play with others in the car or waiting in line. The only complaint is too few maps; I’d love to see more realistic track models added in a future update. Worth 99 cents any day!

Puede mejorar mucho este juego. To creo q el sistema de puntos pra ver quien gana es muy malo, pues yo muchas veces salgo cuarto y eso q llegue primero a la meta. Debarian corregir eso.

We can’t tell you how often the game claims that we crashed when the spots are available to us. Seriously, we just saw a competitor car take the spot that the app told us we could not take, after it said we crashed. We just played a game where we soundly beat every other car. 2 of them crashed twice. The 3rd crashed 3 times. We didn’t crash at ALL! We came in LAST PLACE!!!! The game IS super fun and we even bought the full expansion pack but now we’re regretting it because the game isn’t fair.

To steer, tap the dot. To go forward, tap the dot twice. Controls are moronic. If we want to change the placement, why not tap AND HOLD the dot? That way we dont accidentally move forward?!!! Crap crap crap.

The controls are impossible to steer and there’s too many instructions, not fun at all.

We rate it 900 below 0 we hate it it won’t let us turn it is cold!!!!!

Worked for half a race then it stopped letting us steer all it does is move the map around an confirm a move so all you do is run into the wall. Running on iPod touch 3Gen.

We played this as a kid. We did spaceships with gravity wells and shooting. It was awesome.

Great game! Simple, elegant and fun. Player over wifi with three friends is hilarious to watch. The game quickly becomes very competitive in multiplayer mode.

Reminds us of military school where we’d spend hours making maps and racing. We used to use things like speed up arrows, oil slicks, potholes, etc, to make it more interesting. For this, a few more maps, bigger ones, would make it worth it. Very fun tho.

There are so many glitches that we can’t even put our line where we want it to go! Then when we try to place it it will go to another side of the map. We would say please fix, but we already deleted it!!
