were called “card-users,” and the five kings of the land relied on them
to maintain peace and balance.

travelers suddenly spread throughout all the kingdoms.
At that time, a young boy began a journey in Firsta, a land known for its bold adventurers.
What secrets will he uncover in his quest to becoming a master card-user?

DeckMake Fantasy Reviews
We bought this years ago and was wondering if there will be a 2 ? It has so much character and personality. Art style is clean, music is great story is fun. After making our own game we know how hard it is and makes us appreciate this even more. We need a part 2.
Super fun, but gets a tad repetitive. Wish combat and the story had more to it.
The game is easy to pick up and put down. Mostly played in between commutes. However, moving between different kingdoms creates power creeps from previously accessible cards. You’ll never use magic attack or physical attack cards once you receive stronger ones. Your HP is the only stat you control, while attack is determined by specific card. Essentially, you level up by acquiring higher HP with the better cards in the new area. No elemental resistances for magical attacks, and physical attack cards reign supreme. Game can become a tad repetitive if you’ve figured out the optimal strategy. Final boss was surprisingly satisfying to destroy with triple power Ice Sword!!! Overall, would recommend if you want a short (took us about a week with 30-60 min sessions two to three times a day) and visually appealing game with little variation of strategy, but high on visuals and card collecting. The music is charming and fits with setting. The story is pretty light, as well as town exploration. Game follows pattern: Go to town, talk to shop owner for items in town, and guild owner for details on monsters in the area. Each area has 4 monsters. Rinse and repeat until you find Kingdom’s Castle. Talk to King and receive cards, then fight whatever monster king wants you to slay (usually two strongest monster in their kingdom) and bring back item for him. You’ll then be granted passage into the subsequent chronological kingdom. Continue process until reaching final 5th land. Favorite cards: Power Attack Replace Heavy Boomerang Fire Sword Spear.
They should seriously play test this, especially when grinding for gold/money in this game , because thats where it starts glitching for us the most or in that case, glitches us out of the app game. Dont get the wrong idea ,It is a great game. We just dont tolerate glitches/dysfunctions if we spend our money on anything.
We love the game, the artwork is fantastic. But we were unable to beat it due to a game breaking glitch that stopped us from advancing and fighting the final boss. Can’t recommend a game that’s broken at such a critical point, sorry.
This is an excellent game. Pretty addicting, too–I played it pretty much nonstop till we beat it. I’d like to see some achievements though, to add to the replay value. Nice ending as well.
Im a school ff1,2,3,6,7,8,9,10,10-2,13,12-2,14, and in between workaholic antisocial, gym rat and this is the game to pass time when you chillin for no reason and smart enough to really distract you from the day and when your body is too sore to workout it will remind you that it likes you too so play with it.. Long story short we don’t have to spend money one this game to have fun it’s x10 stars for how smart it is and that whom ever did this has to be tired of paying for things to play because grinding is too hard on other games and we need to feed his kids too… Please make more games like this…
We love this game! So much fun and a good solid challenge.
One of the best and most addicting iPhone game ever! If you are a rpg fan like us then this game is a must! This is our 3rd time replaying this game. Please make a part 2!
Great campaign mode great art work and the combat is addictive just wish there was more.
Count us in for deckmake 2, make it with more of everything.
Great game. When is deckmake fantasy 2 coming out.
Great game. Wish there was more to do.
This game is really fun, it is repetitive but what rpg isn’t? You are in it for the story. And it is a good story. We say try it out we enjoyed it and it provide you a lot of entertainment, there are different monsters so you do have to figure out how to evolve your deck in order to defeat them. We do wish you could play different characters, or that there was more cards, but we they did a good job and who know if they are making a sequel! We would definitely buy it if there is! Great game!
Good game. Worth playing. However, there are a few down sides. The game starts off really slow, with little variance in cards or play style. Even at the end, there aren’t enough cards to support more than 2 or 3 play styles. Near the end, you zoom through the last 2 realms. Kinda the opposite of what is expected. Also, this is a very short game with no after story content. Don’t expect to be entertained for more than a week.
Couldn’t put it down…. But it was a bit short. Needs some more characters but worth the price.
This game improved its translation over its initial release so the dialogue is ok save for the numbered town names. The quick mode also hastens battle speed which is good. The problem with Deckmake Fantasy is that it gets repetitive, especially in the beginning when you have a deck full of short swords that are terrible and have no combos. At least you get a couple of fireballs and the stronger cards make the game more interesting. You also need to be able to sell outdated cards too. We do like the fact there is some strategy, like using a buckler against hobgoblins, whose charge attack gets crippled when you raise your defense. The game is fairly underrated as a lot of online reviews do not include the most recent version of the game that is a nice improvement especially when you get going with some nice cards.
Cool game mechanics, retro sprite graphics, and customizability.
Great game you should add monster drop.
Very addictive game love the customization of your own deck.
This game is fun for about ten minutes. If you’re the kind of person who wants to enjoy the first few things that happen in a game and then slog through their merciless and completely boring reoccurrence for another six or seven hours, then this is for you. The themes are pretty juvenile and lack imagination. The mechanic is decent, but totally overworked by the time you’re done. Also, the difficulty level is all over the map. Instead of a steady increase, it seemed to be hard in certain pockets and developed very unpredictably (the last chapter was by far the easiest). I’d pay $0.99 for this, and be mildly annoyed. But after dropping four bucks, we’re ticked enough to actually write a review on how bad it really is. AVOID THIS ONE.
Good concept, poor execution. Idea is great, but cards, towns, and battles are very repetitive. You will be able to tell who win the battle by the amount of HP. Nice try, but skip this one.
This game was very well made and a lot of thought and time was put into it. Good job!
Easy to play. Right amount of game play.
We thought this game was great can’t wait to see how it develops and updates. Sequel!!!! Plz!!
When we first got our 3GS, we downloaded a bunch of strategy games. Some of them we never got around to playing, and lately we’ve been loading them up and checking them out. Man, this is a great game! It takes a couple starts to see what’s going on, and then it’s off to a pixelly simple RPG, with traditional combat and spells replaced with a customizable deck made of cards you buy or are rewarded with. Great fun, especially if you are a fan of the simpler electronic CCGs that are all over the net.
We like how the cards add to your attacking ability and health. There are also many other cards that add strategy into the game. We think you should be able to re-battle monsters just to add more things to do and obviously more cards. This game was not what we thought but it was still very good.
This game is simply great! It doesn’t require a load of strategies, just a modicum of it and the graphics are great, considering it’s an RPG. All in all, it’s worth the money and right when you think it gets boring a new obstacle pops up.
We’ve had some of the most fun playing this app. The length of it was good. And each part of the story is just if not more challenging as the last so we never lost intrest in it also game play changes up just enough so it’s not to repetitive though replay content just isn’t there unless you like stating over so all and all we rate a 4.5 starsd.
We really enjoyed the game and hope for a sequel. Concur with other comments. Ability to sell cards would be great. More levels and monster types and a better English translation would also help to better capture the player into the story and reduce repetitiveness. But this is a solid strategy rpg card game. It’s loads of fun and worth the price!
Greatest game we have played on the iPhone/iPod touch. Hope for more installments in the series.
This is fun, but things start to repeat after a while.
We enjoyed playing the game but we wished there were more card and different enemies. Maybe in the sequel.
Some will gripe about the localization but we’ll take an attempt over none at all.
Really fun game if you don’t take it very seriously. Caution! Addictive.
This game is alright, not as fun as I’d hoped though…
Thought this would be more like mtg or Dominion but is instead a simple game for kids.
Awesome game very addicting we might have been the first to but this game we bought it when it had no ratings. * suggestion * maybe better graphics but still cool.
As other reviews have mentioned the English is downright Engrishy, but we think it makes it a bit humorous rather than detracting from anything, although some situations will come up where it can be a bit confusing. That’s about our only con in this game. It’s enjoyable and nowhere NEAR as frustrating as the Culdcept series. We like the different card strategies, although at act 3, that we’re currently at now, we’re breeding through the fights fairly easily, and only lost one or two just in the beginning while trying to figure out the system. Definitely worth the purchase if you’re looking for an easy fun card fighting game to get into.
We love this game we couldn’t put it down for days.
Got no complaints it’s a great game.
Easy game. Very unique. Not for everybody. Laughable translation. If you like card collection and RPGs you might like this game. No replay value but it’s only 3 bucks. Would be nice to have game center support. Final boss can be beaten with three cards in the right order. Reminds us of dominion. We really hope they make a sequel. Game may crash when the iPhone sends you notifications. Seems like it was 8 hours. Could be less but you do need to grind.
Don’t get us wong, this game awesome be it. English translation is not good and that is why we give it 5 stars. The game is pretty fun in itself, but having the amazing experience to read things that make little to no sense is worth the $2.99 (the price they paid to have this translated)’
This game was really good and addicting, but we felt as if it were a little short… We def hope there is a sequel and for future reference we think there should be a way to sell back cards and there should be alot more cards in the the game and possibly a linger story mode!!! Other than that it is a must buy game in our book!!!
Definitely a fun and unique twist making the battles revolve around cards. Pretty interesting that each card has a hitpoint value and you don’t level up traditionally but instead you buy better cards with better stats. We like that you can incorporate quite a bit of strategy into your deck like using higher damaging spells leaving you with less hitpoints, more melee attacks with more hp or a combination of those and other types of cards. It can be a bit of a grind but we had fun while doing it. The game provides a nice difficulty curve as well.
One thing the i-store is short on is good card-based RPGs. This may not be the best out there, but it’s one of the few ones in here. And it is good.
A really fun and addicting game! Story’s great and intuitive, with an awesome card deck you won’t be able to keep your hands off the game.
Would just be a stupid rpg like half the others in the app store. But we were pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of the game. While a bit monotonous it doesn’t get boring quickly. We would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good rpg to spend some time on.
