We had played tangle tower before this game and loved it check out our review on that game we figured out about this game afterwards Hungry for another adventure with Grimoire and its a lot better than we expected full of fun and interesting characters Grimoires sarcastic humor would always leave us with a smile they say the game is to short but we think its a reasonable time it was the first game with him we think the games can only get better another complaint we read was that it crashes a lot but Ive only had this happen once and it does auto save frequently so we wouldnt be to worried if you need a new type of game and are a fan of mystery than this is the game for you $3 very well spent.
This is definitely a murder mystery game you really dont wanna miss out on; the fact that its animated, has great audio, and voice acting AND has a very good storyline just amazes us. If you are looking for a murder mystery game that has unique characters and a funny detective then we highly suggest this one. Tangle Tower holds a dear place in our heart so, when we found this we were extremely happy, and believe us, yall are gonna want to download this extraordinary masterpiece-and you DEFINITELY wont regret it :3 Ps: thank you to the people who made this amazing game, we hope to see more people play it and we also hope there will be more games like it ;3.
From the second we downloaded the game to the very end we couldn't put it down. Everything was perfect. The music was beautiful and the characters had so much story to each one of them. The only mistake we noticed was that when asked, Folder had no interest in himself. Other than that, this has been our favorite app in a very long time. Still…a year+ later we want a sequel. We've played it multiple times but we just want more. 2020 EDIT: the sequel was incredible and again, Im left needing more.
We played Tangle Tower and downloaded this game as soon as we saw it. The art and style is a bit more bright and pops a bit more, with some parts of the interface more intuitive, or perhaps having played Tangle Tower we now knew at the start you could talk to witnesses/suspects about clues and other characters. The voice acting and story aren't quite as good as in Tangle Tower, which also had more potential motives and explanations as you learn about the house and its inhabitants. You move toward the final reveal. We also miss the banter between two detectives, and there is a character in this one that reminds us way too much of that child in The Secret of Kells and also serves mainly as a story accelerator. Finally, we prefer the map navigation of the first game. Overall, however, this is still a fun game and a recommended purchase. We hope they bring us another in the future, as long as they avoid shortcuts and invest in an engrossing story and good writing.

We love this game so much! We found it about a year after playing their other detective game, tangle tower, and we were so happy to see it! These games are so fun and truly worth playing, and we recommend buying the other one as well. It is worth every cent.
We LOVE THIS GAME! This is the the best mystery game Ive ever played and its the only one Ill play more than once! By the way,it would be very much appreciated if you could make another game like this one or like Tangle Towers.we just wish Tangle Towers wasnt deleted from the Apple Arcade.PLEASE MAKE MORE.
We always come back to playing this game, and tangled tower. Both are amazing. The plot, the clues, graphics, and voice acting. Its a terrific mystery/ puzzle game. Ive played many mystery games, and this franchise is still our favorite. Im so excited and cannot wait for whats to come in the Grimoire Series. Although we do wish we could play Tangeled Tower just regular and not on apple play.
We originally played Tangle tower and loved it, after that our husband found this one and so we had to play it. Its just as amazing as the other and Definitely worth what we payed. At the end of this one though it said to be continued, but tangle tower didnt seem to be the continuation of this story. Will there be more of detective Grimoire? We love this series so much.
Graphics, gameplay, storyline, all great. Took us about 5 hours to finish. Makes you feel like an actual detective solving a crime.

Its a very well done game. The characters are adorable and whimsical. Quick witted humor. Its a detective game and while there is moving around and pointing and clicking, its not a traditional point and click adventure game if thats what youre looking for. Its hard to know which direction you came from, and after a bit, we discovered there is a map that will take you anywhere you want to go so thanks for that. Its a relatively short game and it may make you feel like youre almost an outsider and the characters interact without you. They come up with their own pre-prepared dialog and most things they say are clues. There really arent any puzzles per say but everything advances the sleuthing. Its a process of information and elimination and you might even consider it educational in practical thinking. This game would be more appealing to younger audiences. Again, what theyve done here is done to perfection and it deserves the 5 stars we gave it, but we needed more head scratching adventuring.
This game and Tangle tower took so much time and effort to make, we played this game after tangle tower and being the prequel was really cool. Tangle tower has more interesting characters, and better UI. But Detective Grimoire is still amazing. We still think that people dont realize how hard the devs worked to make these games. With all the storylines, graphics, just outstanding.

First off, we highly recommend this game to murder mystery gamers. So we only discovered this game because of the sequel (in Apple Arcade). After we finished it, we wanted more. Our research into when the next game would be released showed us this game. Without any hesitation, we bought it and finished it flawlessly in one night (just now). It was just as fun as the sequel, though more was added in Tangled Tower (at least we thought so). Sad fact is that it took nearly 5 years from this for the sequel. Lets hope the future games dont need to take as long.
This game was by far one the the most enjoyable mobile games we have ever played and the ending left us wanting more.
Its a good game voice acting is amazing and you feel like you are actually deducing the case and not being led and has good voice acting it just felt like it was short and needs a sequel even if its payed.
Did we finish it in one evening? Yes. Did we love every second of it? Yeah! Its fun, well animated, the character designs and personalities are all unique and cool (even the women!), and Grimoire is genuinely funny and smarmy. The story was well done- a goofy idea, really (whos first suspect could be boggy, clearly the only truly innocent being here) but has these big hints towards a deep and kinda serious story about secret societies and monsters. Im really looking forward to more adventures with Grim, and his hat! P.s. Please, Im begging you, treat this like an avengers movie and watch till after the credits. Its such an intense vibe.
Awesome game please make a part two.
First of all, this game is stunning. The puzzles are hard, but not impossible, the graphics are nice and clean, and the story is interesting and mysterious. We would definitely like to recommend this game. But we would like to add if they could make a better ending? It feels like they just got lazy. Putting that aside, though, it might be the best mobile game we have ever played.

We usually find these kinds of games to have too much dialogue and not enough interaction, but not this one. There is a lot of dialogue, but it was funny, and the voice acting was excellent, so we felt very caught up in the story. We loved how they made thinking a game mechanic, too. Very creative! We look forward to playing more from this studio.

Developer!! Are you blind?? So many sequel requests just make one (or more cases) and youll get loads of money from that one if not more!! And another thing Im at 99% we cant open the museum door and we dont know how to figure out echos tent code.
The game was very nice. It had a intresting story took us about 2-3 hours overall we think you should get it worth the money.
Hi developer humans, this game took us 2 days to finish!! We think you should make the plot less obvious and the puzzles harder. Other than that, its an AMAZING game. We also finished Tangle Tower, which is pretty amazing as well. It took us three days! In Detective Grimoire, we pretty much knew who the murderer was when we discovered the hunting photo. The dialogue in the game is really glitchy and never completely audible but other than that, its a beautiful game with amazing art and plot.
It crashes all the time! The game is definitely good so far but it keeps crashing when we get to the house and attempt the door lock puzzle.
Loved the flash original and now this Detective Grimoire! Awesome characters, writing and overall mystery. Theyve got a great framework for a detective game that keeps it from ever getting tedious. Cant wait to start Tangle Tower! Unfortunately though for this title, it crashed multiple times on our iPhone 7 running the latest version of iOS 13, most often upon tapping the question mark in the top right. It was also a little frustrating to find an item we were missing from outside the office, as it didnt seem like there was much telegraphing it was there, and we felt that we had already searched it thoroughly. Also it ends kind of abruptly, though not as abruptly as the flash game, at least. There was some weird reluctant dialogue from Grimoire that didnt make any sense to us. Still loved the experience overall though, and highly recommend it of course.
Very well done. Really enjoyed the animations and the voice acting, they added a nice spark to this game that many others on mobile dont have. We just wish it was longer, or it had one other crime in it to solve.
We bought this bc we love Apple Arcades sequel. This one was good but no where near as much game okay and extremely easy to beat. Love the graphics art and this type/style of game tho. Hope they make a third.
Purchased this after playing Tangle Tower, which is great… Disappointed.
The game was not challenging at all. It reminded us of Dora. The character would ask simple questions and the puzzles were just as simple. At least the designs were pretty.
Detective Grimoire here needs either one of these two things. 1. A sequel as his work is still unfinished. 2. An update for iOS 11 and above users. Great voice acting and fully voiced for every scenes as well, interesting art style and puzzles. Highly recommended even though its a bit short.

This game is sooooo good, so please make a sequel or update it so we can play it again.
We first got the game wile back and we loved it. But because of the new update we cant get it on our phone because of the new update rule many of our (old) favorite games are purged from the App Store please have a heart a bring it back.
We finished this game a while back and really enjoyed it. After searching for another good detective game, we decided to start this game again. It's just that good. Great fun, great story! One of our favorites on the App Store for sure.

The only disappointment this game gave us is that there was only one case. We finished it so quickly(and loved it so much), that we had just assumed there was another case(or 3) that would follow. There needs to be more detective based games to play like this. One of our favorites had been the hector the inspector series and so we were very happy when we had found another detective game with voice actors and witty writing. Please make a sequel and having multiple cases, even if you release them later for purchase as they're completed like there is in the Layton Brothers: mystery room game, would be lovely.
What a great game! We loved the story and the characters and everything about it! It's fairly simple and straight forward but still we really enjoyed it! Can't wait for a sequel.
Amazing game, we have had this in our wishlist for so long and finally decided to get it. We were in love with it. It was one of the better point and click games. It had a good amount of content, amazing voices, and characterization. If you have it in your wishlist and have a time to sit down and listen JUST BUY IT ALREADY. It quite frankly doesn't need a sequel, but it depending on how it's done it could be even better.
Buy this you'll love it, basically a point and click adventure, we've never seen such beautiful animations in an app store game and the voice acting is superb.
We really loved this game! Its beautifully voice acted and animated. We love everything about it. We hate that most detective games are finding object games, we want to really investigate and interrogate people without wait times. This game is amazing! Please!! Continue this as a series.
We love the graphics and everything about this game. Its funny, amusing and very mysterious. But we think there are untold stories in this. How did grimoire know that girl was from the fairground? Why was she there, even? Is there gonna be a second game? Ima figure it out… Sometime.
We've played this game twice now, we just can't get enough.
