Description
Only you, Dirk the Daring, can save Princess Daphne from the clutches of the Evil Wizard Mordroc in this fully animated arcade classic from the legendary animator and director Don Bluth.
It is a dark time in all the land. The Evil Wizard Mordroc has spirited away Princess Daphne to a wrinkle in time, scheming to force her into marriage. As Dirk the Daring, you must race through time to rescue her. A bumbling old time machine (and all the courage you can muster) will transport you on your mission. But you must hurry. Once the Casket of Doom has opened, Mordroc will place the Death Ring upon Daphne’s finger in marriage – and she will be lost forever in the Time Warp!
The responsive and intuitive controls let you play with or without move guides. You can choose to use 3, 5, or even infinite lives. And exclusively with iPhone & iPod touch, you can play through the Original version or the new Director’s Cut, which features an alternate ending!
This latest version includes all new HD videos, with Achievements and Leaderboards through Game Center.

We remember when we were 15 us and a friend would play for hours!! Game went away and never seen it again. Glad to have it our hand now!!! Thank you!
We made a review saying their should be unlimited lives. Turns out there always was unlimited lives. PLEASE IGNORE MY LAST REVIEW AS IT HAS FALSE INFORMATION.
For all of you who are complaining about the game sending you back to the beginning. IT IS SUPPOSED TO. Your probably too young to have played it in the arcade. But unless you grab ALL of the secret objects such as the key when you first get the time machine. Or the BUTTERFLY when the cat breathes fire (There is some in every stage). You cant go to the end Quit assuming the developers or the game itself is messed up. This is a great port. Im sure you can find a guide to get all the secrets.
How do you collect items to continue the game?
Everything starts out good till you reach the mummies all around level. Once you reach the end of the level the game pauses on its own and then it restarts to the first level when you select continue. We guess we cant finish this game and Im out of luck on a refund for waiting a while to finally have time to play this thing…. (Game is running on a iPhone 8 Plus with the latest iOS version)
Loved playing the game thought 4.99 was worth it untill you’re playing and then allll of a-sudden it comes up saying the game is paused and restarts you to the beginning so you can never finish the game total waist of 5 bucks very disappointing!!
Im playing the game and we are trying to collect the treasures but it wont let us we see the treasures and we tap on them to collect them but it wont work and instead it makes us die can you please fix this.
December 2018 and they still havent fixed this. The game ends abruptly and you cant play the last two series. Very annoying in an otherwise cool game.
Sound does not work. This is a timing game. Controls not responsive. We deleted it after 5minutes.
We were almost to the end And the game paused and then sent us back to the beginning! That is crap we paid for this app and that should not happen at all!!! We are very upset!

The game is perfect in our opinion. It’s exactly like it was in the arcade and exactly how it should be. Nothing more nothing less. Controls work great and the game play is amazingly smooth. We really love that they don’t give you the option to just to sit there and watch it like a movie, because that would have totally ruined it. This app is a dream come true for us! :-)
We played this all the time as a kid and it works great. Easy, but very fun :)
This is a very good and fun port of the original and we are glad it is on here! The only problem we have is that the quality seems kind of low. Other than that, this is a great version and we recommend it!
We were happy to see the game on the App Store. It was one of our favorites in the arcade (I could get to the ending in a couple of quarters). This app has some nice features: achievements, the ability to save, original or director’s cut, a move guide if it’s too difficult. That being said, we only rated it 4 stars because the input timing is off. In the arcade version, you always had a split-second after the on-screen flash and "chattering" noise to make a move, and this is how we timed all our inputs. In this version, if you haven’t entered a move by the time you see the flash, it’s too late. This becomes frustrating when you try playing with the move guide off. It’s like you have to pre-load Dirk’s moves prior to most situations, which sort of destroys the illusion that you’re controlling the character. Could the problem be that we’re using an iPhone 5c? At any rate, a small tweak to the timing would make this game indistinguishable from the arcade version.
Our daughter & we are so bummed after a $5 download of Dragon’s Lair 2, that "Watching" the entire game from start to finish is not an option like the original Dragon’s Lair app. It’s her favorite thing to do in the car! Can you please, please incorporate this into a future revision?? Space Ace too?? We would be forever grateful!
Too many inputs. Long drawn out scenes. No breaks or pauses. Exhausting to get past the first 3 scenes. And we can’t remember any of the artwork and images. Just flashy lights and mind numbing commands. And our name is Dirk, big fan of the first one.
Love the artwork and the play style of the game is just like Dragon’s Lair. One thing they added to this one is that you must grab various golden treasures in order to be allowed to go past a certain point in the game. They don’t explain how to grab the treasures though. How do you do it? We’ve hit the directional button. We’ve tapped on the treasures. Neither work. If anyone knows let us know how you did it. Thanks.
The game is fine, except the controls are terrible and when we changed the controls to easy we didn’t notice much of a difference.
