We love this game and the way the story is payed out.
Compared to the use of the controller, playing through the story whilst utilizing the app was an amazing experience that we wish we tried much earlier on. We’ve experienced no problems so far and would strongly encourage those that are on the fence about whether to use the app or not, to try it out! Keep up the good work!
We played Erica with our controller it was terrible for us so when we found out about this we took the chance and when we found our ps4 it worked AMAZINGLY and it was easy for us so now we gotta re connect the app it disconnected from us writing this but thank you for making this app we love it we really approve of this app !!! We love this game so so so much it is by far the best game that we’ve played in awhile and the app is awesome.
Completely love the game and all the amazing features it brings!! Erica is a great game that extremely cheap for all that it brings! And to make an app for the game is so creative! Huge props to the directors/creators of this game! Cant wait for the next upcoming game by @flavourworks!
We’ve played this game around two times and its just overall great deserves more created nice graphic too even if its prob staged lol.
Terrific story! The games run time is around 2 hours and we were captivated throughout. We just wish the game had a chapter selection or the ability to skip cutscenes youve already seen! We’ve played through twice and would like to see other choices play out, but we the fact that you cant skip around makes it hard to return to the game. We think by the third time around the games interactive features might start to wear thin. Heres hoping they release an update.

Agreed, thought using the controller was the obvious choice, but no the phone just works better for this game. Sorta Until Dawn meets Hidden Agenda. Or you could include Man of Medan as of 2020. By the time you are reading this there could be the next installment …
Connect to the hotspot. Itll prevent disconnection and theres no lag- compared to just being in the same network. Once we did this it was smooth sailing.
If having trouble connecting to PS5, make a hotspot and you should be fine. The game is a bit iffy with touching the screen for gestures but its still really cool! We would use the app instead of the controller. Pretty unique concept.
We second guessed using the app, but gave it a shot. App is a lot better then using the controller. One thing we do find hard though is swiping actions on the app, we have to do multiple swiping movements for the game to fully swipe up or down whatever we were trying to open and read. IE flipping pages in a journal. Overall, app works great and we recommend using it for the game.
Firstly, we understand that the app is quite literally called Erica App PS4 so we dont find it incredibly surprising that it isnt working for PlayStation 5. However, the fact that it doesnt work with the PS5 is seemingly disappointing. Erica is a wonderful game experience that we missed out on during the PS4 generation. We’ve been playing it on our PS5 but the game insists the experience is better with the app versus the controller. We read some other reviews here that detail some of the great things the app can do and feel like we’ve missed out somewhat. Heres to hoping that somehow the app can be updated to identify PS5 consoles running Erica via backwards compatibility.
The app wont detect your PlayStation 5 and you will have to use your controller.
Star for hot main chick Star for ok app Star for creativity Thats about it for us. All we could muster was about 20 minutes of gameplay. Just our honest review. Just not our thing.
App works most of the time. Little issue with motion of swiping. Story was underwhelming.
The app just quit working and we got stuck in a drawer and had to close the application completely to get the screen to change. Disappointed because the story was just getting good.
So, we got this app and the only flaw was connection to the console, then we even started a hotspot from the console and it had no connection, could just be us but we just wanted to leave this here for people who are having the same issue.
Im mostly leaving this review as a bit of caution: this app is not compatible when playing Erica on the ps5.
App needs to be updated so you can play it on your PS5.
The app keeps crashing. It just crashed for the third time in the settings! How am we supposed to play with it instead of a controller?!
The app keeps pausing and making the game glitch… Im greatly disappointed because we were looking forward to this game.
This game is released on ps 5 PS5 is the current generation of console. Yet your app doesnt support it this needs to be fixed.
As soon as we hit the play button the game freezes when it says drag to explore.
Didnt get to play the game via phone regardless that it is expresses as the best experience. Resolved it was the apps issue with connecting to created hotspot not the devices and thought, If gameplay is the same shut it down now.
Does not work on PS5 with latest update for both the system and iOS 14.6.
You really need to update the app to work with ps5 because ps4 is an old console and many people are using ps5 now.
Dont plan on using this with the PS5. The game itself is great but the companion app hasnt been updated to work with the backwards compatible version of the game running on PS5. The app just errors out and says it could not detect a PS4 on the local network and attempting to put the PS5 into hotspot mode ends up with an error that says it cant connect to other devices because its on a 5Ghz Wi-Fi connection.
Annoyed they couldnt make an update so the app would work on ps5 couldve at least disclosed in their description but being user friendly doesnt seem to be a priority.
If you play in your ps5 it doesnt recognize it.
This app does not work on a PS5 even when we turn the PS5 into a hotspot and connect to it. The app only searches for a PS4 system.
No go with ps5, local WiFi or hotspot.
Both our ps5 and phone were on the same wifi, wont connect. Used the hotspot, got logged in, app wont connect. Everywhere it says using the app makes it better. Maybe have the app work correctly? Now Im frustrated before we’ve even played a second of the game knowing Im apparently missing out on the best experience. Not a great start.

Love this game so much its brilliant.
Im using an iPhone X with the most recent software update and this game just doesnt work with our phone. It keeps trying to re-establish a connection which ultimately ruins the entire experience. Im forced to play with a DualShock because this app just doesnt want to work.
