Perfect flow of clues and solutions. Very zen to play.
Similar quality to other games by this company. However, the solution to the final puzzle (2018 and four colors-white, black, blue, red) is just straight up wrong. Somehow two colors got switchedHopefully they can remedy this.
We generally like all of the Nakayubi escapes. The very last puzzle was incorrect, however. We looked at the answer and then looked back at the hint, and two of the colors were backward.
The dolls were white black blue and red. Yet the answer was red black blue and white.
Last puzzle is incorrect. It should be blue, black, white, red.
Theres a scene relying on colored heads and their order for a date. When you use the colors in the game you cant solve it. The hint solution reveals that two of the head colors are switched. We see them in a certain order but the programming has two of the colors switched. The red and white are switched. Only by using the solution can you finish the game.
We wanted to kindly let the developers know that there is a mistake in the game. But after seeing other reviews that mention the exact same mistakefrom 6 years agoit is clear the developers have no intention of fixing it. It is a simple fix of swapped colors, but you cant finish the game without viewing the answer. Disappointing.
Nakayubi offers a long list of wonderful escape games. 2018 is not bad, but it is one of their least enjoyable offerings… Mind you, we are american. Some japanese traditions, practices or items just dont translate well. [ie we were not familiar with the slotted box behind the dogs, nor the inventory item that would correlate]. We also gave a low review because at least one of the puzzle solutions simply did not make sense to us. Usually if we end up taking a hint, we will slap our forehead and feel stupid that the answer didnt occur to us! In this case, even after we saw the answer, we could make no sense of it. We still recommend this entire series of games however. The characters are freaking adorable, puzzles are generally clever and straightforward.. Some of the best free gaming you could possibly ask for.
