Fallen of the Round Reviews

We’re really amazed how good this game is! Wonderful on all accounts. Progression, learning curve, strategy, positioning, UI, animation effects – everthing works together to deliver great entertainment. We really wish there was further development and expansions and am willinvg to support further.

We really enjoy play this game we cant stop playing. We would love it if you could add more levels, more bosses, more characters, maybe start with different characters.

This has the bones of a great game! The mechanics are solid, entertaining animations and challenging but fair gameplay. That said, it could use some updates. After defeating the first boss, we expected the next more difficult level to test our upgraded minis on… But it went back to total screen instead! As the title said, its a great start, we hope the devs continue tweaking this one because it could be truly awesome!

Great fun, challenging as well, highest score with some cheating thus far is 580. Regarding cheating it is possible to put as many pawns out as you have. Futz with a pawn that is not on the board, by placing it off to the side or in between staging area and board, and eventually it will look like it is suspended in the air, then it can be placed anywhere on the board, even though 4 are already on the board. We have been able to place 9 on the board at once. The 580 score is with 5 pawns. And fairies are the best, pair with an archer or wizard, and bump your archer or wizard and they get an extra turn.

Dont listen to the punks who know nothing about game development and will gladly pay $2.99 for a crappy cheeseburger but expect a game to be perfect for the same price. We had hours of fun playing this. Its original, short but sweet, and trying to discover all the surprising combinations will keep you interested for some time! Its got some bugs and could certainly be improved or expanded upon. But this developer is worth your support!!!!!!! We cant wait to see what else they come up with!

Innovative. Aesthetically pleasing. Great concept. Appropriate music. This game showcases touchscreen potential. We prefer short and high quality then bloated and boring. This developer is on to something and we hope they keep going.

We downloaded this game months ago. It is not a game we play everyday. It is not a game that rewards you for daily logins. It is not a game you have to relearn after taking time off. It is not a game where you can pay to win. For all those reasons, it is unique in todays world of micro transactions. While we appreciate the micro transaction model for what it provides, this game is a breath of fresh air. One single payment, that is not remotely expensive, and one gets access to a full game. Would we like there to be more content, yes. However, that is the only way in which the game is lacking. We play this game almost on a daily basis and when we dont have time to play, it doesnt matter. Its rewarding and satisfying each time we play. When we lose and do not complete a round, we find myself itching to play another. When we succeed at winning a round, Im always satisfied. Sometimes we play more. Sometimes we do not. Either way, we walk away without thinking about the game. Without a doubt this the best strategy game on the App Store in terms of pure value. If you download it and only play it until your first win, youve gotten your moneys worth. You cant compare this game to big features that litter the App Store today. This game is more akin to the original Super Monkey Ball. You can spend hours playing, or a small amount of time. Either way, youre not disadvantaged.

We love this game. It is basic enough to pickup and learn, but its still not too easy. A second map, or new game plus mode would be nice. However, the game is missing some basic settings options. We like to listen to music or podcasts while we play on the train, but this app is so much louder than everything else. Please put in a sound dial in the settings. And perhaps a saved game option.

We really loved the game but it defiantly can be improved. There should defiantly be more added to the game like a continued level after the Final Boss. It Defiantly needs to be a longer game. It took us less than 30 minutes to beat the game. We really do like it but it just needs to be an endless game instead of there being an ending. But defiantly recommend to play it.

This game has some very cool elements and its easy to jump in and play. The classes are easy to understand and each unit type has variants inside themselves keeping them fresh and unique. It could use a bit of a longer gameplay for the price and also some customization at the start as well. Maybe being able to pick your starting hero. Maybe allow the player to unlock starting heros by beating the game with a previous hero or something. Something that gives it a stronger replay ability. There seems to be a glitch when placing units. Sometimes it wont let you place a unit and other times it allows you to habe units touching bases. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to what causes it. Unsure if you were only suppose to have 4 heroes on the board or not but we were able to field 8 for battles. Having the camera fixed on the center without zoom cause some of the combat to be missed or hard to aim accurately. Sometimes when completing a level the box will open and nothing comes out. So we have to close the game and relaunch the game and start fresh.

We loved this game. Its addictive with the graphics and gameplay and leaves us wanting more. Its has really great potential to be an even better game. Simply making an infinite game mode that keeps track of how far you made it and a journey mode that plays like the base game except after beating the last boss you progress to fighting different enemies, a new boss, and harder difficulty like moving on into a new area. Doing this would definitely make the game that much better. The level up for your pawns is an awesome feature as well. It gives us a nice bit of rpg. We did run into a bug in the game while using the feature with some characters. The 30% chance to do area damage option just has a white square instead of an icon like the rest. Other then that we enjoyed playing the game and will still be playing it.

So if you drag your guys out enough times you can kind of force the game to allow you to field as many pawns as you want. Same for the enemies, if you grab them enough times theyll be moved to the center of the Dias during the placement phase. Then with a little nudging you just place your own guy on top of them over and over and you can push them off to be destroyed before the fight ever starts. We wish there were more instructions available because the way the fairy can Hurry another pawns turn to be immediately available is not at all intuitive. Figured it out by accident. Also each pawn has its own speed rating for turn order. Valkyrie is much faster than berserker for instance. Lots of hidden mechanics. This game is very pretty and unique- and it was certainly a pleasure to play. The game is a worthy time buster but lacks real replayability.

So much fun and such a unique concept. This game at least needs moderate progress, dungeon logs, or an endless mode. It’s a surprisingly very fun game and easy once you get the hang of it but it desperately needs just a little more. At least miyomoto had SOME progress, albeit not very much at all. This one doesn’t. Either let people work on it or make it free, man. We’re sure this game has potential.

After the patch it is much nicer but . We have a hard time playing such a short game after beating the first boss , we assumed we would move to the next floor/level and face tougher and tougher pieces .. Very disappointed to then see the end screen and start all over again this was a 3 star game without the patch with the patch , 4 stars now please give us a reason to give 5 stars.

This game is super fun to play, as youd expect from the creator of MIYAMOTO, but wow, is it buggy. Lots of freeze ups and crashes. Characters are difficult to place. But when you get through a game, its very satisfying.

Ok now Im a big fan for rpg tabletop games. We could play them all day if we were able to. Usually we dont have the time though cause either Im too busy or we just cant find anyone to play it with. This game however serves as a gateway to that passion for us. Its an amazing game and we play it pretty much everyday when we have time. We truly recommend for anyone whos into tabletop rpg games. But on the side note, this game can do so much more also. We think that if there was more development on this game, there could be like a campaign or an online mode. Something original but fun like that would be a great mix to this lovely game. Either way, this game is perfect and it was totally worth the money.

Its great that its very straight forward and simple. This would take off more if there were more levels. Something past the boss. Just more. Its so good we want more.

Love the idea! Fun to play little miniature fighting game, brings back memories of us our brother and we playing Heroquest back in the day. Mechanics are very hit or miss, literally! If any of your heroes are in front of you or even close to you or the enemy, it will be a wasted turn because 100% of the time your attack will miss and most missed attacks in a round spell doom for you because the enemies health and attack points increase tremendously with each round while your heroes are dead or dying with measly stats. Because of battle mechanics we try to grab Wizards and Archers and combine them whenever possible, the only times we’ve ever beat this game is with leveled wizard or archer (archer attack points can be close to 100 by end of game if you get lucky). Different heroes or a better stat system would increase enjoyment of this game immensely! Also, Fairies are completely useless! Low health and no attack but you are still required to make them attack essentially putting them in harms way so they uselessly die by turn 2 or 3??? Whats the point, at least make them stationary or better yet, replace them with a totem or shrine that gives stat boosts to your Useful Heroes. Well, thats our 2 cents. We still play this game once a month or two but really bummed its not reaching its full potential!

The gameplay is fun and unique! Learning what the characters do can be hard because the english isnt perfect. Getting to the point where winning is consistent is pretty easy though so needs an update!

Cant advance at all past 5-6 round.

Can we please get an endless mode and more characters / enemies.

This game is really fun, but is lacking in a lot of departments. Our biggest complaint is the following – you either do really well or terribly, there is no in between (at least for me). In the really well case, you get to the final boss and youre so overpowered that you blow it out of the water and its no fun at all. The alternative is getting wiped. For us, the funnest part of playing this game is combining or leveling up the pawns. By the time we start to have really cool pawns, the game is already over. We wish we could continue, and the game would adapt to our power level.

The idea and visuals of the game are incredible, but sadly theres not enough content to keep you going. The entirety of the game is a randomly generated set of 15 levels with the same boss. Its difficult at first, but the combat is very satisfying. We wish there were more characters, more levels, or different arenas. Any one of these things would make the game far more replayable. Inside the gameplay loop, there are very few ways to mitigate damage. When the pseudo random turn order tells you whos going next, you do a move/attack in one direction and thats that. It would be fun if the higher level pawns had abilities or something.

Beat it very quickly, no middle ground or sustain. Either you get good pawns and dominate or you you get destroyed. Its more chance than strategy. We wish this game would get an update to balance it a bit. Over all a very cool concept with good mechanics and great visuals but it really just needs more.

Fun game, way to many bugs. Really short game. Hope they fix it soon it is fun.

Game provides great animation, the board is small and cant really zoom in or out which can affect where your trying to aim your attacks. At the end when you loss or win, are provided with points but cannot spend points on an in-game store or talent system to improve classes. Its a good game for $2. Id pay more if it offered more.

This game is insanely good. As soon as we got the hang of it, we could consistently beat it. But then thats it. Once youve beat it once theres nothing left. Theres nothing to upgrade, theres nothing new to find, theres almost no reason to play other than to try to find something else in it. This has a lot of potential. The reason why other rogue-likes (per an example: Risk Of Rain 2) is that theres stuff to unlock, collect, and improve. Every run through isnt the same. This game has that potential. We really like where you were going with the Collect 3 of the same pawn and it ranks up and you should push that more. Like add an actual main menu with more options and everytime you collect a pawn in every runthrough, it adds a slight increase in power for future runs. Just something to grind so that it adds replay value.

We thoroughly enjoyed this game the first week we got if but after that it got stale and overly easy. This game has so much potential to be great but at its current state its not too fun after completing a good number of runs. Its in need of a some big content additions to truly be a great game.

Very short and unbalance game. We love the look and feel of this game. It looks amazing, the mechanics are fairly simple and control are intuitive. That been said, the game is very short. This feel more like a tech demo than an actual game. So far we’ve found a few character combinations that world well, but overall, it is easy to tell when the run will simply not work at all. Runs are not saved. If for any reason you close the app, the run is lost. This game has potential, but it laking features and a lot of content.

This game is serviceable with a LOT of potential, we like a lot of the ideas and concepts present, but a tutorial that helps you get a grasp of the gameplay would be nice, it feels a little short to us considering its randomly generated, we would personally like to see some kind of infinite mode and some party events or something. We would recommend they add some more variety to the encounters, maybe a bigger board too, as the small field makes the archers and mages feel somewhat weak for their low health since enemies can get to them in two turns if they want to. Our biggest wish is for a longer campaign. A game that wants to hit that rougelike niche they seem to aim for benefits greatly from extending their campaign time, as play time then increases exponentially, a great example being FTL: medium length campaign, and yet it takes 100+ hours to actually see the credits roll. Buy it, give it a shot, its not like its overpriced for what it is, but we would DEFINITELY like to see them keep adding to the game. 3.8/5 a solid C+ in its current form.

A great starting point to a game but we felt like there should be something further. We finished this in an hour and theres nothing to gain. No new clases. No new challenges. No new environments. You just start over.

We like the art style and simple mechanics, but this game is very, very buggy. Models sometimes can’t be placed, attacks miss for seemingly no reason, pawn upgrades glitch out, etc. Furthermore, the controls aren’t great: the "slingshot" pull doesn’t always work like you expect it too, and sometimes the camera just won’t rotate to the right angle that you want. We bought this to support the developer because we enjoyed MIYAMOTO, warts and all, but this feels like a step backwards. A few patches and fixes would easily bring this game up to a 4/5 for us.

With proper depth, this would be an amazing game; as it stands, the cool factor is lost in an underwhelming package. Obstacles on the board and more exploitation of knocking enemies off the edge would add a lot to the gameplay, and overall a better sense of progression and scope would be welcome. The boss feels perfunctory. As it stands, this is more of a well-rounded demo than a standalone game.

Game looks totally our style: miniatures, strategy, roguelike. It looks great. Sadly the execution has a lot of bugs, and youre bound to be frustrated by making wrong moves or dealing with the annoying scrolling. The bosses are poorly balanced and it feels like the developer spend more time making it look cool than playing well unfortunately.

As stated with most other reviews, theres a ton of minor bugs which takes away from the game tremendously. Also, you cannot save your game which is completely unacceptable. We were playing, and took a phone call, when we went back into the game it started us over again.. Looks beautiful tho!

This game doesnt save your progress in the middle of a run? A mobile game you cant come back to the middle of?? We feel like Im missing something, but the game hasnt shown us how to fix this. Regretful.

Great idea. So buggy. Almost unplayable.

Its a wonderful game when youre able to play it. However, we’ve never been able to finish one session without a bug hampering placement, attacks, or power-ups showing up. We really wanted to give this a better review, but we were very disappointed.

This game has a lot of potential to be an amazing game but the developer has not put in the effort to fix some bugs and expand the scope into a game that has replay ability.

We havent yet finished a run without a game-ending bug. UI gets messed up and we cant proceed. Edit: we did get through once, graphics bugs and all. Edit: Can work around bugs by quitting multiple times until unity splash screen shows on launch. Terrible battery usage, doesn’t exit cleanly. Uninstalled.

Its a super cool concept with really poor execution. Idk if yall forgot the password to login and edit your game, but there are a tremendous amount of bugs. We e movement between pieces/and just losing purses mid game for no reason. Fell off the table when selected.

We got all the way to the last boss and it bugged out and we lost all progress. Its very unique and fun, but in its current state we wouldnt buy it. Wait and see if it gets patched and fixed. Its sad that the new normal for games is release a big mess and fix it later, or not.

We play rogue likes. Slay the spire, hades, issac, nowhere profit, dead cells, Gungeon, crypt of the necro, moonlighters, dawncasters, dicey Elementalist just to name a few that we have and okay. This game has the potential to be great but its not there yet. Look at base issac and tell us if that compares even remotely close to repentance. This game is in essence base issac which isnt a bad thing for them. But with limited time in the day there are too many other options even on iOS that are more appealing then this.

The text when choosing the character after a win is so tiny it is not readable, so we have no idea what the characters do. The only setting is the language setting and you cant flip or zoom. Its otherwise pretty but the battle system is clunky and not explained so after 2 rounds we stopped playing and notched it down to a $3 learning experience to not trust the game of the day tip without research.

Cool game, got the hang of it and made it to the final boss. And then the game decides to force shut down, no reason just guess Im not allowed to finish the game. Very glitchy and the view of the board is cut of in many angles. The blur is also not cool.

10 minutes in, we found out what fairies can do… Especially two of them if you can get a good meat shield (knight, valkyrie, paladin), a wizard (the area damage is overtuned), and two fairies, and keep bumping the fairies into the wizard… You can’t lose. Is this a demo of a game to be released?

This gets one star from us because we bought this on our iPad, for our iPad, and it ended up being a portrait oriented app. There was no indication that this wasnt for the iPad. Any application developed only for a single orientation on the iPad is useless junk. In addition, the graphics on the splash screen were horrible anyway, likely because they are only for the phones smaller screen. There needs to be a very clear indication that an app is only for iOS and not the iPad. We dont care if it technically works, because it is useless.

Theres hardly any gameplay to this, the graphics are cool and its a neat concept, but you inevitably end up having to pick characters with heal and blizzard to stun enemies without blizzard and parry/cut damage chance on a melee character you basically cant beat it, because you will always end up losing more characters than you gain per round making it a war of attrition. Player characters all have trash health, while enemies all have 50+, area effect and penetrating on every attack. Wizards and archers cant move? Fairies can move but cant attack? Just dumb. Has potential but feels very phoned in. Want a refund, maybe will try it again later.

This is a neat game. We preorder it as soon as we came across it because it seemed different to other games. Im glad we did because it sure is entertaining! The animations are great and we like the aesthetics of the game. We havent been able to beat the first dungeon just yet. It is definitely on the difficult side and your moves and placement matters a lot which we like. Things we think the game could improve upon. 1. Add more variety of pawns. Im not sure why the chest at the end of the round would give you two of the same pawns. Itd be nice to see more variety rather than being offered two of the same pawns. 2. Create a larger playing board? We believe the size of the board was intentional as to cause your pawns to miss a hit if they clash within the same team, thus making it more difficult to beat the level. But for some reason the game board feels rather small and its hard to place/move around the pawns at the start of the game once you have too many. We feel like if you dont use all of the pawns available you are setting yourself for automatic defeat. Each level is definitely harder than the previous. 3. We like that you can rotate the game board during in-game but for some reason we cant do it during pawn placement at the start of the round. 4. Allow us to customize the graphics. We feel like the game is high quality and it might be able to run just a bit higher graphics/performance or more fluid animations, but it appears to be currently limited. 5. Overall we see good potential in the game! Almost like playing a magical spinoff of chess but with less pieces. Different skins for the pawns and an online multiplayer would be a no brainer! Perhaps some sort of online tournament. We wouldnt mind paying more for having these features added in the future.
