Community Insight:
The game is good, but there is no cloud archiving, and switching devices cannot be seamlessly connected. Please add cloud archiving in the future.
We love the game a lot- we think theres a few issues with the card mechanics(like, the card physics themselves- the card youre hovering over not pulling to the front, sometimes the cards will be unselectable, etc-) but it doesnt pull us out of the game! We actually could see using this same engine for more stories and expanding the world of volepain and his buddies- the studios creativity makes us think it could be a super successful series.
If you fail halfway through a mission, even if you go to a different region during the mission, youre reset back to the beginning of the mission. For missions that take 20-30 minutes per region, we refuse to redo almost an hour of mission progress. Please fix the save progress and we would give it 5 stars. At a minimum, it should save our progress to the start of each region, NOT the start of the entire mission.
Unlike the rogue like deck builders on the market this game is completely story driven. The stories interesting, and the consequences of your choices and actions is a lot of fun to play with. Level progression itself though is just cycling through the same cards until you reach your destination. Combat is optional, but usually you just end up throwing all your resources just to end it without an actual fight. All in all the gameplay itself is lacking and you quickly feel the fatigue of the cyclic nature of the cards.
Fun game with great visuals and sounds. We especially enjoy the creativity behind some of the hidden interactions. We recommend for the price. Do wish it had a feature to move dialogue a bit quicker.
Other developers should take note. That fact that a modern dev is willing to take time to make a complete game with beautiful art, story, UI and gameplay is refreshing. East to tell that this team enjoys creating quality things.
