This is hands down the worst thing we hve ever bought. Not 1 thing works. Complete waste of of money.
The GolfDaddy simulator has a lot of potential. The practice mode works well, and it does a solid job analyzing golf swings, contact, and divots. For working on technique, it performs exactly as expected. However, when switching over to play a nine-hole round, the simulator consistently fails to recognize swings. This makes the gameplay portion unreliable and impossible to enjoy the way its intended. If GolfDaddy can fix the swing-recognition issues in the course-play mode, this would be a fantastic product. The foundation is already therethe concept is great, the practice tools are effective, and the overall experience could be excellent with that one major improvement.
App freezes up. They did an update on the app, and now we cant get it to work at all.
The best in training tool ever made. It is accurate and very helpful. An absolute must have if you own clubs.
At first it wouldnt calibrate but it was because of the lighting. Changes the lighting and now its pretty flawless. Time to break 100.
This could be a great game but even on our iPhone 15 pro, which is made for gaming, the app freezes. We can play maybe 2 or 3 holes. Hopefully this gets fixed.
Works decent when it wants to. Other times it just shuts off, or the camera doesnt work.
We were excited for this product it was a good and cool product, but it is slow (crazy slow) it bugs out every match and it cannot correctly distance clubs. If you swing just alittle to far its going 100 yards to far or way left or right. Cool product but it needs work, at this point right now we would not recommend do not buy.
The app itself needs work. Its very slow to analyze the swing. Screen goes blank when it says to swing. Freezes up often and requires a restart.
It takes so long for to work right and then it works for a little bit and then stops working. It takes soooo long for the shots to analyze. The app crashes a lot and you are stuck in the game without being able to do anything but restart it. Its a cool concept but nothing like they advertise.
Great idea but doesnt work. Analytics take about 30-45 seconds work and even when they do the distance and swing isnt accurate. Had to file for a return soon after purchasing. Also, the app freezes multiple times. Had to shut down and restart.
So we finally got the app to calibrate which took numerous times to move the mat in the right spot and get aligned properly. The bad news is the app itself. We constantly crashes or has you redo the shot. Its poorly made and the full potential to play a round of golf is impossible. The app needs to be upgraded to avoid constant crashing and have better distance measurement. The concept is awesomely but useless if the app doesnt work. Also the phone has to be in vertical alignment to video your swing which defeats the entire TV mode. Sorry you got to do better.
- The app just locks up / freezes and doesnt tell you what the problem is. Seems like the app is not accessing the camera when it should be. 2. The matt moves each time you swing the club. So you have to re-calibrate the play space after each stroke or the prediction will be inaccurate. Its a good idea but this set-up just doesnt work.
The app consistently fails. The camera will stop working. The swing sensor will stop working. After one or two swings, we have to restart the app and start all over again.
The chipping is way off and our irons when we hit them go way less as far than when we barely hit our pitching wedge. We barely hit our pitching wedge and it went 100 yards that is not good. Waste of money.
Great concept but just doesnt work. Ive tried everything to switch it around, use different lighting, different clubs, inside and outside nothing works. The yardage is always way off, and sometimes doesnt even read our swing. Plus the app is even worse. Always so slow and rarely loads. We have uninstall and reinstall it pretty much every time we tried to use it. We really did want it to work because its a great concept and a great price. But we finally had to give up and stop using it.
Man we really wanted this to work. We hope in the future it will work. But for that to happen, this app NEEDS work. Cons: This app is far from serviceable. The voice commands dont work 90% of the time, sometimes the camera is blacked out so it cant record our swing. When it does record our swing, it takes minutes for the shot to load on the course. The TV mode doesnt work well. To top it all off, it crashes sometimes and it doesnt save your round so you can continue it later. We could go on and on about how this APP falls short. Pros: the courses you can play are pretty cool, hence the 2 star rating. This simulator is also a cool concept and we want it to continue to get better. Hoping for some updates in the future! Please dev team: Fix all the issues above. Add a feature to save rounds if you dont have time to play the full round. And please allow for multiple players to play. Offline multiplayer should be developed right away.
Works well outside if you have some space and ample lighting if playing at night time. We were using it in our garage and it performed very poorly. As soon as we put it on our patio deck it worked almost seamlessly (voice not working and freezing of the app occasionally). We wish the mount was made of a better type plastic or an upgrade was available for purchase.
We were looking forward to buying this game. However very disappointed because we cannot get it to mirror onto the tv. Ive tried everything and theres very little help on the internet. We wouldnt waste the money.
We had high hopes for this sim. Unfortunately, swings take forever to record, the app is buggy, and just overall a pain to play.
Great idea but the app is super glitchy. Couldnt play more than 2 holes and it would glitch and freeze up. Also seems to have issues recognizing certain voices.
Golf Daddy had a lot of potential, but unfortunately, it just doesnt deliver. Youre only given five seconds to swing, and even then, it only registers your swing about half the time. On top of that, the screen has blacked out multiple times, forcing us to restart the app mid-game. The setup also doesnt work well on carpet, the base moves constantly, and trying to recenter it during a game is nearly impossible. We havent made it more than two holes without running into some kind of issue. While the loading time after a swing is a bit slow, we could live with that if the rest of the app actually worked. Sadly, Golf Daddy feels more like a rough prototype than a finished product. Definitely not worth the frustration right now.
Same experience as everyone else. The mat is fine. App, not so much. The videos and advertisements make it look like the app works nearly in real time like higher end simulators. Each swing is taking 12-15 seconds to process. If this thing is designed to help stoke interest in new golfers, its gonna have to work better. The swing read just takes too long. Also, we completely lose audio with TV mode.
We got this for our birthday, Ive seen some things about it and we expected it to be really good. The mat is really good, but the simulation is awful, it takes a while to register our shots, it heats our phone up very quickly, plus its very glitchy, keep in mind we have a iPhone 15. We dont recommend this. The only reason we gave this two stars is because of the mat. Youre better off just going to the range.
In our opinion, its a great concept and idea. For maybe someone at home that does not want an entire $1000 golf simulator. However we wouldnt sell this nor buy it if its not ready. Too many bugs on the app , we had set it up correctly, followed the instructions and nothing registered. It wasnt reading our swings, it didnt let us play on certain game modes. It would freeze a lot, or not load, and you cant even use your driver. Too many limitations and doesnt work well yet. And from what Ive read on the reviews its still a work in progress overall. Would not recommend until theyve fixed it all.
The golf daddy mat is a really durable mat and its good for seeing your swing but it also damaged your clubs.when we go to play on the app it kicks you out and you cant finish one hole without it kicking you out. We also tried to set up the tripod but the connector price wouldnt fit in the hole to keep the phone holder in place so we had to buy a completely new tripod that wasnt even for the golf daddy. So we prefer you fix the app so people can enjoy it and play with friends to flex there scores on different courses.
There is currently an error and no ability to Log-in (3/16/25). It seems they are aware of the issue but nothing has changed for two days. Please review the discord before buying the product and voiding your warranty by opening the box.
The simulator is way too inconsistent. Ill swing at 25% with a SW and the ball will go 70 yards and then Ill swing 90% with a 8 iron and the ball will go 60 yards.
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt very frustrating. Do you like the pad? Just wished GolfDaddy works better.
Wish we could play a single round without the app crashing. Sad that they still cant fix that.
This simulator has so much potential, but until they fix the bugs, you can never get to the second hole without it never reading your swing super slow please fix.
The mat seems very durable and pretty good on its own. The app on the other hand is wildly inaccurate. Im shooting a half shot with our sand wedge that goes 100+ yards, but our full swing 8 iron with a good divot is going half of that. Not sure if its an issue with how we set it up, but theres not much assistance with that either. We think Ill continue to use the mat but we wont be touching this app again without some big updates. Update: tried the app again today and Im just completely locked out. Cant login, so we cant practice, play, or any of the above. Definitely would steer away from this product and buy a simple mat.
Set it up it doesnt want to capture our swing and then once we got it going it said update the app which we did, but it still wouldnt work.
Love the mat so we can visually track our swing but the app is terrible. We regret paying $100 for the mat lol.
Very cool concept. The app does not work very well. First the voice command works about half time. The tv mode does not work at all with the voice command and you have to walk over every time to hit the button. Our space to play is clear and spacious but the app does not pick up the swing majority of the so that means you are just walking back and forth hit the button because the voice command works when it wants too. A lot of work is needed.
Great concept, we have a feeling it will do better in the future but as of right now wont let you use anything over an eight iron on a 270 yard par four. Im shooting great shots, but it only goes 50 yards. Hopefully there is an update that will let you use more than just 8 iron, 9 iron, P wedge and sand wedge.
This app needs major overhaul for updates. Will not take voice commands, inaccurate swings when the mat divot says different been testing this out with a pw iron and it only stands probably 18 hole game then replace the mat. It would be worth the money if developers payed attention to customers.
There are a lot of features talked about however they seem to be in the coming soon stage. The mat wears out quick and more than half the time the swings are not registering. 5 seconds to go from pushing hit shot then getting yourself in a hitting position is not at all enough time as the recoding starts and you have to rush everything. Again, it does not register your swing as it has timed out. When you are 20 yards from the green it is nearly impossible to get on the green as it either does not read your shot or it thinks you took a full swing and it goes 50 yards. Contacted support about all the unregistered swings and got what seems to be an automated AI response with details on how to set up the phone and the mat.
A great concept but unfortunately this product doesnt deliver. We havent been able to play more than two shots whether in practice mode or course mode. The system struggles to record your swing and an error message pops up. The voice commands do not work so you need to push a button on your phone, hurry to get into place ( you only have 5 seconds) , swing and wait ( around 12 seconds) to see that your swing didnt register. Graphics are good, the idea is great but the execution is poor.
We guess we shouldnt have expected but so much given its only $100. But comon! We suggest new/improving golfers stick with the grass driving range because this simply is NOT accurate.
The advertisements and the Instagram page made this seem like a really good idea, and we think it could be a very good product if somebody spent a little bit more time in the calibration of the swing, and ease of use. Im hoping the company will see all of these reviews and make some necessary updates to keep people happy, otherwise this is a product that will tank.. Hard. There are better apps out there for swing tracking, maybe they could partner up with one of them instead of doing it on their own, and failing. In theory, this is a great product, and still can be with some much needed effort and collaboration.
For a $100 golf simulator you get what you pay for. The time from hitting the ball and waiting to see the results there can be some major lag and most of the time there can be an error or the server is not working. The biggest bummer is the early version doesnt allow you to adjust the timer. Its set at a 5 second default. So there is not enough time to get set and make your swing without feeling rushed. It actually hurts your swing. The instruction video shows the option to change the timer setting but its not available on this early version. Im not even using the device until that feature is added.
Mat is good, seems fairly durable. The app itself is the problem. You only have (as of now) a choice of 8i, 9i, PW, SW. We played one hole which said it was 56 yards for the entire hole. Too many errors on swings, takes too long to load when you finally get one to process. Overall, 2/10. Save your money.
The app doesnt read anything and ball goes the same distance no matter the club.
We applause your great idea. Golf simulator on your phone. It is not same as advertisement. App feature was so disappointed. Set up exactly same as you explain. Accuracy was not reached what we expected. We didn't expect that super accuracy but this was so bad.
Unfortunately the app is trash. The concept is awesome. But the app. Well trash. Even after the new update its still trash. Only one course to play. The swing sync is not accurate. Yardage is off. Probably could invest a little more money and time and invest in a real launch monitor.
We love the mat but the app has a lot of bugs. It is too slow reading our swing and sometimes it wont even read it. We think with time this app will see a lot of improvement with the work the developers put in. One improvement that we would also like to see is a local game for 2-4 people.
Got the mat did not have all the irons just we may have been the wrong time to buy. We will say the only reason why this review is not 5 stars is because the camera it the most important thing in the app. Should not have this many issues like it doesnt record, take 1:00 minutes it finishes reading we cant wait to see what line they shot for in the new update! We think GOLFDADDY has a great future.
The app needs a lot of work. Tried calibrating it last night and it wouldnt open our camera. We updated our phone, deleted the app and tried again. It was now able to open our camera but we kept getting a server error. We tried again this morning and its still giving us server error. When we finally finished calibrating(pressing ok on the server error), the range wouldnt open. We uninstalled the app and reinstalled again. Still not functional.
We just got straight As in 6th grade all year and as a surprise, we got the simulator. We were having fun until we started doing the pin tracer and some of the holes were really far which means we would have to hit a club farther than our 8 iron but it said limited accuracy which made us really mad. Also, the list of clubs doesnt have a 3 iron as well.
