We used to love this game when it first came out! We redownloaded it for the nostalgia to find the unpleasant surprise of not being able to adopt new cats without buying a GamePlay subscription. Still an okay game but it killed the joy, probably will delete the app once it gets boring.
Id rather just pay 99¢ for the game and be able to buy the cats with the cheeseburgers that we’ve earned PLEASEEE BRO.

We used to play this games when we were like 12 on our moms IPad, but for whatever reason now you have to pay like $4.99 a month to for game pass to adopt new cats, like what the heck thats so unfair.
We enjoy playing this game a lot and it is one of our favorites, but it is very annoying how you are limited to so much while playing the game. In order to be able to do everything you have to pay a subscription. And we dont think for a mobile game you should have to pay $5 a month.
We’ve been been playing this game since it came out and for a while there it wasnt updated with this iOS version so we experienced unfathomable sadness as you could imagine (as this game is definitely one of the staples of go-to amusement on our portable glowing communication devices) so we are insanely grateful that its back and Im glad we never deleted and kept it there even when it wasnt working because we missed it. Just kept the app in our graveyard of Apps and refused to delete it and Im glad we never did. This game rocks. We feel like your brain would be one we would pick. Props friend. It has wrought much delight. Glad its still supported. And hearts. <3 woo!

We played this when it first and out it was so fun and amazing but then game club bought it and now its awful firstly you can get more cats with out having a subscription and now basically you have to pay real money to win.
To address the review below ours, like the publisher has said, you only need to offer your email if you’re signing up for GameClub. This is not required to play the game and if you previously bought the game, you can swipe over to the last screen on the GameClub pop up (that only appears the first time you run the game) and hit ‘restore purchase’ to get the update for free without signing up for the GameClub subscription. They have handled these updates MAGNIFICENTLY. It’s very rare when a publisher switchover happens and they give you ZERO reasons to be upset with how they handle it, however, that’s exactly how it’s been implemented with all of these GC games. Now, as for the game, we bought this the day it was released because, well, we bought EVERY Adult Swim game that wasn’t free the day it was released. And while at first we thought that this was one of the least impressive games that AS published, it grew on us. Quickly. And now we’re SO glad that GameClub has brought it back from the dead. We do wish that GameCenter or a dedicated server used for score keeping, because this is a PERFECT game for score chasing, but the unlocks will keep you busy for a while and then once you unlock everything playing to better your own score is great. 3 different gameplay modes (not including a training mode), and TONS of cats to unlock along with 3 different characters to choose from, each with their own perk that changes the gameplay a bit more. We usually hate games that require a grind like this (and yes, we understand that the grind IS the game….) but in this case, the grind is actually incredibly fun. And if you have subscribed to GameClub, this is definitely another game you should at least give a chance. And then another chance because you might not like it at first…. But it DOES open up a bit once you start unlocking things. So…. After all that… THANK YOU GameClub for bringing this game back!!! And thank you to the original developer for actually creating this game! It’s a blast! =D.
Demands you surrender your email address before it will even let you play the game. That is ridiculous. We cant imagine why a developer would think that theyre entitled to our email address just to play a game on our own phone. We dont know what the scam is, and we dont want to find out. Deleted immediately.
We thought this game was pretty lame when we first played it but after giving it some time we find myself going to play it daily.
Not too many games deserve a review, however the gorgeous graphics and sense of humor deserve a definite five. This has to be one of the greatest games ever made.
If you live wasting time, then this one’s for you. Hackycat’s a great game to play by yourself. It’s great for cheering you up, or blowing off some steam. If you’re looking for something to enjoy for awhile, then this is for you. We’ve put more than 2 hours into this and we’re not even close to being finished. Only thing that would make this better is cloud support. That’s pretty much all we can think of for now, go buy it now!

We really wish Ken would’ve launched this beast in the summer…. This app is really cutting into our learnin time. Erase all the other games on your phone/iPad… This is all you need.

We love this app so much. Its addicting, you unlock stuff for cheap prices, its not laggy at all, it isnt 1GB!! And most of all we love the little cute kitten sounds :3.
Awesome game! We’re more of a dog person but this game has us loving to kick cats. At first we thought this would get boring after a while but buy was we wrong. We’re really loving this so much but we would love to see more game modes, characters and of ourselves more crazy cats. Keep up the great work and future updates.

EDIT SEP.15: Since the first time we posted this review, we’ve had an ongoing issue where the game freezes and will not recover after doing a super-kick. It doesn’t happen every time, but we have gotten close to beating our high score multiple times, only for it to freeze. The only thing we can do is force the game to close from the multitasking bar and restart. We really, really like this game so we hope this gets fixed, please. We want to give it five stars again, but this problem has been going on for over 6 months. :( This game is incredibly fun and crazy addicting, totally worth the 99 cents. One of the best games out there. The controls are easy, the characters are amusing, the graphics and sounds add a new level of funny. Don’t hesitate to buy this, it’s totally worth it! Looking forward to future updates hopefully with even more cats, goals, and athletes. :D It’s sad and funny though that some people really think this game is going to encourage kids to kick real cats. XD.
