Community Insight:
The only mobile game that has held our interest for over nearly a decade. Really satisfies the long term progression itch and theres nothing else quite like the strategic 5-day team vs team matches (called white stars) out there. Great game for people who are fans of strategy, and the developer has been very principled about finding ways to generate revenue without micro transactions / pay to win / ads. We just wish content updates were more frequent.
So Im stuck on this one bit where the red star scanner cost 20,000 but our inventory space for the money can only get to 18,000 and we really gotta upgrade our planet, but still its not gonna let us upgrade them because we cant get the money, but the main issue is when we tried to do the tutorial for the shipment relay its one button we had to press would make the whole game crashed for us and we tried to restart our electronic yet still it happened so please fix this bug. It is super annoying.
Ive played for maybe like two hours this game is not a game the wastes your time slow slow progress is our favorite super fun game.
Let us say this is a good and wonderfully unique base-builder. However, we're finding prices increasing very quickly and exponentially, while the storage increases are incremental. This leaves us with a very boring experience where we just farm hydrogen and credits to upgrade storage. Edit: it's gotten to the point we barely check in to see if our hydrogen is full.
The hydrogen runs out extremely fast and it does show up in the galaxy that fast also before you can grab from other galaxy friends now you cant. Basically need to spend $$$ to obtain more or wait for 12 hours or more.
Module balancing is extremely poor. Chain ray far outclasses all other weapons in white star gameplay, and chain ray turret is overpowered, boosting the range and damage of chain ray to where you are destroyed without being able to even touch opponents if they have it a single level higher.
While Im not 100% sold on all the changes this is by far one of our favorite games to play. Our credit cap did decrease significantly but other than that we still love this game. Even though you can play this game without support from a corporation Id highly recommend playing this game with others. Cooperative play is much more rewarding now and we enjoy seeing older players as well as newer become more active.
But vocal minority gonna do what it do and make mountains out of anthills. Keep up the good work.
Ive been playing this game for over five years. It became we grind and honestly, it really sucked to play. Whitestars turned into a loss-farming wasteland, Bluestars were impossible if you had bad tech, redstars were easy; even new levels were quick to get the hang of and solo complete. The updates give a fresh more competitive feel and even offer a more difficult mode (dark redstar) if your feeling for a challenge.
Developers took a decent no pay to play game. That was amazing, focus on friends, strategies and different cooperative play modes. They just FORCE all players to UPDATE to crappy Dark Nebular devs made it less strategy, more Grind, ruin the game. If they were SMART they would allow both versions to go and see which version have more players. We only trying to play with the updates because of friendsotherwise we would quit.
Ignore all the 1 star reviews of late, they are from veterans of the game who cant handle change. Hades Star desperately needed a refresh, and Dark Nebula delivers on that need. Yes, there are many changes for us veterans to adjust to, but for new players, the overall game will be an amazing experience. 4/5 because there were a few changes (credit income, hydro income, overall hydro economy) that desperately need to be revisited and rethought. The new gameplay is phenomenal though.
The update is fantastic. Truly. But we just spent the last several years wasting time, crafting our star, and making small goals, and reaching level 199 by that old system. None of that matters anymore and we dont want to to start over. So, Im done. Im out for good.
We loved the old version but like it always happens people change the game for the worst You can add to a game and not take away. They took away sanctuary and we lost several ships we saw you could get destroyed and it acted like sanctuary so in next round we leave our war ships in like always to save on fuel. Well if Star explodes you lose ship. Top it off they went from 17 min for a red star to 8.
The game got a lot harder and took a lot of tech away the game was great before this update.
For years, the game was fun. The update to Dark Nebula stinks! Its essentially a different game. Hard work on now deleted module was not adequately compensated! We want the old game back. This may be our last week with this game. Its a shame.
This game is a good game for you even if you have little time to play! In your free time when your not reading books, cooking for yourself or your kids, or going somewhere, its a great game! Its a space based game where you try to make a stable economy/Galaxy/nation. You can colonize planets, upgrade ships, and fight in Player Versus Player Matches called blue stars. There are red stars which are raidable collapsing galaxies which only live for fifteen minutes before going supernova. White stars are matches where time is slowed down, and you fight with your corporation members. You will have much fun playing, guaranteed.
- So for anyone new to this game or looking to get into it, this isnt clash of clans or anything similar. This is a slow grinding based game. This game takes time to build up and to be the best. THATs what makes it so fun. To rely on other players to get resources in events, to have comradery and to slowly build your fleet, thats what makes the game so fun and so unique from other games Ive played. 2. This also isnt a, hop on for 10 minutes and gather resources and get back on later. You have to be on the game for a good 30 minutes or so to gather resources but it does get a LOT easier as you grind for it. This aint a game for those who are handed easy wins, this is a game that keeps you constantly busy with tasks which is what keeps people from being bored of it. The only issue we have with the game is in-game currency that can be bought with real money is NOT worth the purchase. The crystal to credits ratio is outrageous and not worth buying. We would recommend the devs change this even before the Dark Nebula update releases to make it more appealing to buy crystals to speed up upgrades times. So if you like a slow paced game that keeps you busy and lets you slowly get better, great! If not, find a different game.
Honestly, its a fun (if repetitive) space colonizing and exploration game. Lots of waiting while artifacts are being researched so you could log on once or twice a day and be fine. A simple pop in to send your transports all over, harvest some artifacts to work on, and do some normal work is all thats needed. However, the game will randomly decide that Im offline or that the system cant be reached. Not a big deal unless you have your ships in a star that dies because you cant log in to send them home. Was it our connection? Nope. We were able to run the Speedtest app and it showed a 250 mps connection. We guess all the credits earned today will be spent replacing those ships and Ill just treat it like we were poor battle planning.
Developer and moderators exercise dictatorial tendencies and actively work to destroy the game community. We love the game, people involved are terrible.
After 3 years Im still playing. Enough said.
Really cool game you have to control each spaceship and we seen a supernova.
This game is so fun and best of all it is endless there is no way to beat the game.
For years this game has held our attention with some much to learn so many different strategies. You can play your own pace or become obsessed and switch back. Find you corps or start your own corps with groups people you know or new friends around the world literally Has the feels some old exploration strategy games mixed with MMO and the that old time mail in you moves were you anticipating opponents actions.
Send in two ships at once against two enemy ships and take no damage. Send in two ships against two enemy ships a second time, one gets destroyed. This happened to us multiple within the four days we played before we deleted the app. Other than that, great game.
We would first like to say that Hades' Star is one of the best games we've ever played. The current setup is beautiful, and we'd be content if this game stopped receiving updates. But. With Dark Nebula just around the corner, us and many fellow players agree that the upcoming update comes with more cons than pros. Some of our concerns: – White Stars lasting 7 days we're the First Officer (leader) of one of Hades' many Corporations, and we coordinate our White Stars to make sure that nobody's plans are diminished. With the additional 2 days, there will likely be players more hesitant to participate in WS missions, which will hurt our Corporation's livelihood. – Time Warp Nerf Time Warp, which for new players is a module that speeds up time, now no longer influences ship speed. We use Time Warp in Red Stars, the PvE section of the game, to buy us precious seconds to collect Artifacts, which help grow technology, ours Hydrogen, the game's fuel, or help other players fight enemies. Now that Time Warp stops influencing that, we'll need to be more careful to time things right – Graphics Overhaul The present graphics of Hades' Star are beautifully simple. While we acknowledge that everything upcoming is concept art, we feel that this puts the simple and elegant UI at risk of losing its appeal. Also, keep shipments visible please, that'd be great That said, there are things to be said in favor of the update. We think that the following are good ideas: – Dark Red Stars They sound like a good idea, not sure how it'll go – Alpha Shield Buff This helps give the otherwise useless Alpha Shield use in the middle to late game by replacing its health bar with brief invulnerability – Better Trade Trade is what's gotten us to this point in the game, we're excited for this; don't mess it up — All in all, this game is great, but we can't see it getting better with the coming update Yours Truly, Pi-Sigma.
Absolutely love this game. Simple, easy to understand, good ui. Keep up the good work.
This is by far our favorite app ever made. The one thing we would change about it is that Id like for two transport ships that are parked in the same place to be able to swap cargo so that we dont need to have all of our transports stuck at a research facility if there is an open cargo bay to swap the research materials over. Overall, though, thats a very minor gripe and this game is super sick. Easy 5 stars.
We dont rate games. Ever. But this one is unlike any other in the app store. Its not a copy paste like the rest. Yall had a passion for this idea, and we love it. If u like space, and 2d mmo platforms, u will be stuck on this.
System management, modules to spice up your fleet, multiple strategies to tackle combat. Solid game, just keep in mind youll be playing it for a long time. If youre like us, thats a big positive. There is no pay to win here, a rare gem in a sea pf cash grabs. Big updates on the horizon as well. Hop in and start exploring! Find a corporation to guide your journey and blow up some cerbs.
This game is a very fun take on a strategy game. The developers did an incredible job of creating a game that does not pressure you to constantly be playing (great when you have a job, kids, etc) but also continues to slowly build over time in depth. Most mobile games that Ive played start off exciting with all sorts of new content happening all over and then Peter off into a complete grind or repetitive pay-to-progress situation. Hades Star is different in that it starts off interesting- the first few milestones are a satisfying progression- but where the game truly shines is as you progress further and unlock the different red, white and blue star missions. Each of them is a distinctly different experience and all of the different modules present totally different but equally viable strategies for tackling each situation. The depth of the game is impressive, and it is exponentially more fun to experience as a group in a corporation. We are excited to see the game continue to be developed and expanded upon- it is a winning formula and we are completely hooked. Strategic thinking and patient, incremental upgrading is highly rewarded. May you create tremendous value for your interstellar corporations shareholders, travelers :).
So far as we go through its refreshing to have a game like this be slow and not worry about our base. Its progression doesnt feel like something you can just brute force and be forced to fight stronger players. Its a slow gradual feeder that gives everyone a good time and we love it. Highly suggest it for anyone who wants the no risk slow approach to progress.
Its such a good game we quite a long time ago and we started liking it bc Im a space person and so we love it and Im just a lvl 5 but if you want to friend us Im called eden.
We dont play any phone games, but our husband and son love Hades Star. Its slow paced and our husband can help his son with his star system and missions.
We love this game first of all, no other players can attack our solar system while we are colonizing planets and building up our economy to build stronger and stronger ships. The time for fighting other teams called corporations in in what's called a white star event. A 5 day all out free for all war between fleets of ships sent by both corporations. At the end of the battle the team that has collected the most relics from planets in the white star event wins the game. While this is all great, the only thing that is broken in this game is the fact the leader can't actively go out beyond his corporation and talk with potential new recruits for his or her team. The way the devs set things up now the leader cannot even send invites to possible new recruits. The only thing the leader can do is sit back and just hope their are players that can some how by magic a new recruit will appear out of thin air. That is the only complaint have in this game. Please change this devs? It would be much appreciated.
Over all we have played for almost a year now. We love the custom ship building and combats. Red stars rock. Blues are fun and short ones thats fun also. One issue we see a lot of people quit eventually is because of the trading. Doing the trading for a hour straight feels like a boring job of being stuck on a assembly line doing one piece of the project being put together over and over again. The further in the game you get the longer it takes and feels more like a chore instead of fun game. Solution = #1 allow us to sell junk planets or trade stations. #2 increase the number of warp lanes so that theres enough for every planet and trade station. If the trading is not a issue we doubt there will be many people quitting later in the game.
One star removed because we need to keep it for Chiron. ;).
We have designed the game to be persistent, so there is no built-in function to restart. Part of the experience is sticking with your Empire through hardship. On iOS, you can only start a new game on a new device. Thats really dumb design. So you have to delete the app to start over? Really dumb otherwise a fair space app.
Hey developers: on iPhone 12, and any phone with speaker carving out screen space, you need to lower or shrink the UI so that credit amounts are not hidden. Also, we cannot tap to select planets or ships near the edge of the screen. Please fix these bugs; otherwise, an enjoyable game.
The game has multiple aspects so the game is not one dimensional. Its also not pay to win. Playing with a dozen other people we know from other games and we have our own corporation. The main issue we have is with the limits of the touch interface. The game needs a side menu or something to allow better selection of ships when they are piled up at a planet or jump point. Its way too easy to accidentally activate a module, select the wrong ship, or select the wrong destination when zooming or moving the map.
Ill keep this short, but we think it would be interesting if a pvp function was added. But as for everything else, smooth gameplay. Theres a few bugs here and there (game crashing) but is very rare)).
We like the tycoon and even combat of the game, but we dont like the forced multiplayer.
We will start off by saying that this is one of our favorite games for mobile devices. However, the influence system is broken in our opinion. Whenever we play on a red stars we feel like Ill do everything correctly, and we still lose influence. And this keeps happening over and over again. It doesnt matter if we got every artifact we could, destroyed 2/3 of the enemies and worked together with other players, nothing makes a difference and it is very irritating. Please fix this as soon as possible. Thank you.
This game is really slow and takes weeks to progress tiny amounts. We would be fine with a slow game but this game is really repetitive. Logging on day after day to click the same 10 buttons as last time isnt appealing to us. We do think this is a great game for the average sci-fi fan with plenty of different features you unlock as you go on but we dont have the patience for this game. It is definitely a possibility we will come back to it in the future.
We downloaded the app several days ago and today was mysteriously charged $4.99 for some kind of starter pack. Deleting the app so Im not charged for something else. Also, the game appears to purposely be a huge time sink and options on PC are not available on the phone version.
Been playing a long time and it seems lately Hades Star is full of buggy issues and lag.
Figured out after starting that we made some bad starter decisions. Unfortunately the devs think you just live with it and wont allow you to restart. Stupid. Delete app.
Beyond the games visually pleasing art, it lacks depth. Its unfortunate, because the game is based around colonizing planets, discovering new ones, building up your fleets, etc which sounds like a lot of things to do, but its not. The game devolves into doing shipments over and over again, going to hunt for artifacts and. Thats it. Do yourself a favor and look for a better game, this aint it.
The cost of upgrades and the time you have to wait for them to complete is ridiculous. Then you have to pay to install them on your ships. It pretty much forces you into paying to play which we actually did (starter pack) to see if it would make the game more enjoyable because it has potential. Alas, it did not. Even with the discounted in-game costs from the starter pack, gameplay was painfully slow with very little to do. What a boring grind fest.
Big problem for us not being able to restart game.
