A Glimpse into Hearts Card Game—New Classic

This is the classic trick-taking game, clean and simple. In this card game, try to avoid the Hearts and the Queen of Spades, or take all of them to Shoot the Moon. How low can you score? On the Hard level of difficulty, Marie, Nikola and Albert are really, really smart! Don’t worry, though, you can change their names and the difficulty.

FEATURES

  • Different difficulty settings for players of all levels
  • Options for choosing player names and rule variants
  • View the statistics to see how many games you’ve won
  • Play as much as you like, completely free
  • Optionally, pay to remove advertising
  • Play without Internet (on the airplane or subway)
  • Play while listening to music (or podcasts) with other apps
  • Compare statistics with other players via Leaderboards and Challenges

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Each hand begins with choosing 3 cards to pass to another player (every 4th hand there is no passing).
  2. Each hand, the player with the 2 of Clubs must use it to lead the first trick.
  3. The other players must play a card of the suit that was led if possible.
  4. The player who played the highest card (Aces are high) of the suit led takes that trick and leads the next.
  5. Hearts cannot be led unless (A) a Heart was already played (Hearts Broken), OR (B) there is no alternative.
  6. When no cards remain, players are awarded points according to the cards in the tricks taken.
  7. Each Heart is worth 1 point and the Queen of Spades is worth 13 points.
  8. A player who takes all 26 points (Shot the Moon) scores 0 points while the other 3 players get 26 points each.
  9. After the points have been added, a new hand begins. This continues until a player has reached 100 points.
  10. The player with the lowest score at the end of the game is the winner.

We’ve been playing this game and since it first came out no we still play it every day 3 or 4 times a day.

The game is fun and it keeps us entertained but its too easy to run them all.

We’ve been playing for a few months at the hardest difficulty level and still win 75% of the games. The bots ai is not very good; even playing at the hardest level its like playing against a bunch of none-too-bright kindergartners. The bots wont play a card to stop a moon shot, try to shoot the moon when its obvious they cant make it, and play the jack of diamonds at stupidly random times. The bots also make questionable card passing decisions, e.g., keeping the queen of spades when its the only spade in their hand, and seemingly always passing the deuce of clubs even when its to their advantage to keep it.

Great card game very enjoyable, just to difficult to close out adds.

Awesome that your ads take over and you cant get back to the game. We justnde,Ted the app. Fail.

Love playing hearts every day.

Love this fast pace, fun fair game!

Fairly good at not ruining the game with ads.

There is one ad that you cannot get rid of. The x to close it out doesnt work. This needs to be addressed because we have deleted it twice and same problem.

We enjoy playing Hearts but could not continue with this version, unfortunately. There is quite a lot of room for improvement in the visual aspects of the game. We’ve played some other Hearts games where the use of color, player emoji, and spacing goes a long way to offer a more pleasurable player experience. For Seniors, these things also help to minimize confusion. For example, simply coloring each card suit differently will avoid accidentally selecting the wrong card. Like green for clubs, blue for diamonds, black for spades and red for hearts would distinguish the card suits from one another. Also, the use of sound could greatly enhance the user experience. These are just a few examples for GUI improvements we hope you might consider. Ill check back down the road to see if the game is updated with Improved interface.

Three computer players act cooperatively, with identical algorithms and perfect card counting. For all intents and purposes, the cards are marked.

Liked the game but too many ads caused us to delete it after two hours. Unfortunately you cant pay to remove them.

The game is ok but there are flaws. For example, the player, you, is dealt the two of clubs 80% of the time. Another thing, minor indeed, after the hand is finished, you click on what is supposed to be Okay but actually says Oy.

Annoying ads pop up between games, so we are deleting this game.

Enjoy playing the game but we do not enjoy the Republican extremist ads that play between hands . Please remove them.

This hearts game is by far the best available for serious Hearts fans. The layout is elegant (no crazy graphics, meaningfully customizable, clean and easy to navigate). Most importantly, the best programming strategy we’ve seen in Heartsever. Is there room for improvement? After having played thousands of games over several years, yes. But they don’t take away from the value of this smartly produced game as it is. We will submit our suggestions for potential improvements directly. We like that the publisher is always looking to improve the game, but is cautious not to add silly graphics and game features. If youre a Hearts fanthis is the app to have. Probably the top request on our list will be to have an iPhone version, and have both versions synced so we can jump back and forth from our iPad. A challenging upgrade, we’re sure. Also adding the split screen feature might be helpfulconverting to a vertical (iPhone) layout when using with other apps in landscape view. Kudos to the publisher for his or her thoughtful development of this app.

The game is okay. The ads are raunchy and appalling. They are so perverted that we will not describe them.

We have played other heart games we deleted them when we found this one! Love it!!!

3 against you. Bots will not play a card to stop a moon shot.
