Dive into HoloVista

To be remade, we must first come apart. Explore a dreamlike mansion, photograph mysterious spaces, confront your deepest secrets and confess them online as Carmen, junior architect and new hire at an elusive firm.

In this near-future social media world, you’re charged with photographing the inside of an opulent building — but beware: the house is getting to know you too, perhaps better than you know yourself.

You’ll explore lush environments with your phone’s camera in 360° as you search for hidden objects, solve puzzles, and get to know the characters within Carmen’s world.

Hear from the Players – HoloVista Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about HoloVista:

We rarely do reviews but felt really compelled for this one! We’ve only played the first few rooms but am already loving this game. We were so pleasantly surprised that there are queer, trans, and nonbinary characters, of varying races and ethnicities, who are all really interesting and relatable as well. Theres also an entire section in the settings talking about accessibility features of the game, and a whole section with content warnings! You are able to turn on a setting that makes the visual effects, such as strobing, less intense. Some people are talking about the game being boring or tedious but we disagree. It is not a fast paced game, so if thats what youre looking for, this isnt it. But we LOVE just looking around all the rooms! And really taking our time with it, admiring all the artistic details. As a transgender nonbinary Latinx artist who has epilepsy, the characters and features of this game and the attention to accessibility mean a whole lot to us!! We love being able to see myself represented in a game.

Its been a long, long time since a game grabbed our attention and held fast like HoloVista does. It has heart, humor, and a diverse cast of interesting characters that hold the story together like glue.

When we leave the app and come back, we cant get the music to play again without force closing and reopening it. Not a huge problem, and certainly worth putting up with for this gem. One of if not the best told story in gaming.

The interface is immersive and the graphics and imagery are amazing.

HoloVista really is a terrific shortform hidden-object narrative mobile game. The right length, the right mood, the right levels of normalcy and weirdness.

We totally adore the game! We were searching for a game to get lost in. The Art Deco feel with bright colors and dance music left us feeling transported to South Beach Miami. The puzzle aspect of searching for items to take pictures of was entertaining. This game is definitely worth a download! We look forward to seeing more games from this team.

HoloVista is a hidden object game with a character-driven story pulling you through. The game is standalone with no ads and very atmospheric. One thing we loved was the optional ability to let the game point you towards any hidden objects that you just cant seem to find, with no penalty or downside. Helps manage the frustration we normally get when we just cant find that one last object overall, a short but beautiful experience.

We have never written a game review before, but we feel we need to support this developer. By far, this is the most interesting and innovative game we have played on the iOS platform. Keep up the great work and we look forward to future games!

Incredible graphics and beautiful story-telling. If you want to be mesmerized and engages, this is the game for you. Simple concept but the point is to be immersed in the story and it captures that!

A beautiful story about holding the key to the prison youve created. A great take on what it means to really look at oneself and to want to heal a wound that youve created and keep picking at. Really great game. A little on the shorter side but beautiful nonetheless! Definitely recommend.

Gorgeous art, and an engaging sci-fi story about a crew of interesting characters with psychological depth. They arent defined by anything except what they believe, what they do, their way of communicating, and who they care about. (When do we get a game about Vlad & his intriguing creative world?) A refreshing change to see a trans character in a game not defined by that surface characteristic, but by their personality. After all, discovering who we really are over a lifetime is all about becoming our own truest (and hopefully most happy) self. This game, at its heart, seems to be about that. Who we think we are, who we really are, and the gulf between. Its also about forgiveness and redemption. Not so much forgiving others as forgiving ourselves in the face of the fears, past baggage and negative stories we carry around with us. People who have faced great adversity in life may get a bit more out of the experience. Recommend this game to people struggling with depression/anxiety or low self-esteem. Wish it were longer, but understand what a huge amount of work it must have been for a small team doing a work this detailed! Great work folks! Bravo for having such a strong sense of what kind of game you wanted to make! You nailed it. Also. Experienced no bugs.

This game was amazing! It captivated us immediately and we couldnt put it down! It was deep, and thought provoking, and introspective. The graphics were awesome too. We would love to see a part 2! We just wish it was a bit longer. We finished it in two days. Its definitely worth it though!

We loved the universe that this game put us in, and we would recommend everyone play it! Definitely check out the Mesmer and Braid website if youre looking for more.

We loved this game so much we literally could not put our phone down!!! We love the atmosphere and the whole entire world experience made us fell like we were really there! Please keep making games we would love to play another one just like this one!

We loved the concept and story, thanks for making this.

We dont often review games especially since this is a family account (sorry fam) but our GOD this game is good we checked it out from the blaseball sponsor a little while ago and just now finished it, Im not gonna spoil anything but take those content warnings seriously yall this is a beautiful game thank you for it.

Amazing game, best part is no ads!

Here you go! Youve found it! You WILL cry!

We never write reviews but this game is incredible! It really hits the aesthetic receptors in our brain and is a little creepy. Also we feel like the characters are real and we care about them. We love this so so so much. Worth every penny.

We’ve never written a review on the App Store before, but we loved this game so much we had to review it. It is inclusive, deep, beautiful, and fascinating. We really hope they make another similar game or expand on this one.

This game was everything we could want. Smart. Real. Interesting. We are so happy we found it. We hope to see more from the creators!

We just finished this game (more of a visual novel, but even thats not quite right) and WOW. A compelling and emotional story told with some of the best written characters we’ve seen in this medium. Go in with as little knowledge as possible. Truly a gem and worth every penny and then some.

Please create another game like this!!! Aside from crashing a lot, this game is sooo beautiful and we wish there was more! We cant wait to see what else the creators come up with.

Absolutely incredible game. The story really hit home with the guilt and the insecurity and the suicidal ideation and the feeling of never being enough. The writing was fresh and modern and connected us instantly with the characters, and we love that theres essentially a nefarious thing hanging over the atmosphere of the story but no one character is the villain. We love the premise, the art, the subtle planting of clues, the character relationships, the character development. We love that the main character is a young Latina architect who struggles with Catholic guilt. We love that she isnt dealing with an immigration storyline. Honestly, it feels a little Black-Mirror-esque, only more hopeful. We just wish there were more about the consequences of Mesmer & Braid and their software. A court case in an epilogue, maybe? A sequel?? We cannot get this world out of our head and Im sad that its over. Thanks for making this game. And if youre wondering if you should play it, the answer is yes.

Im definitely not a traditional gamer on console or our phone, but the visuals drew us in because of our love for Blake Kathryns work. We were not disappointed at all. Beautiful from start to finish. The story was very compelling and we enjoyed the IG post/blog/messenger format. The characters felt real, very earnest and genuine. If you enjoy an enthralling narrative, dreamy graphics, cool tunes and an existential crisis, this is the game for you.

What would happen if you took vaporwave, seapunk, and various other niche 2010s digital art movements and had them grow up into a thriller grounded in a possible future, and a real past. Story is touching, and honest. Writing is believable. Soundtrack amps you up and slows you down at the same time. Gameplay is solidly engaging, though admittedly this isnt the genre of gameplay that Im usually attracted to. Excited for their next release.

Its not a hard game but it has a story that will wrap you up for an afternoon and beautiful graphics.

Beautifully designed, simultaneously deep and simple story line. Very worth interacting with, fives language to a familiar world.

This was a really lovely experience all the way through! The imagery is the best thing about it. We dont know why but we could not get the the sounds or music to work for us even after adjusting the settings. But, we guess thats a testament to how beautiful it is, because we played it all the way through. The dialogue was very well-written, which isnt usually the case in videogames. But that is probably because the dialogue is the main component of the game. Characters have depth and backstory. We feel connected to them. They arent generic and predictable. They are rich and complex. The game changes subtly throughout, which adds to the eerie aesthetic of the whole story. Lastly, the story is so good, so relatable. Simple, clear message, without being corny or ham fisted. Just real! Which is ironic, considering the context.. But we wont spoil! Worth the $. Loved it! Only giving 4 stars because its really not a game per se. Its more of a story that you interact with. Still worth it!

Cool game, it gets a little repetitive but the visuals and music are awesome!

Literally this is the best paid app we’ve ever played or used, THANK YOU for this app, thank you for the representation and the gorgeous visuals. The only problem is we completed the game and at the end where there is music playing it just stops and force closes the app!!! Im so sad ;( but we would absolutely love to finish this app!

This is hands down the best game we’ve ever played. The graphics are beautiful and its just so relaxing to play. We hope there will be more games like this to come. Kudos to the person or people that made this game. Update: we were in the middle of chapter 2 and the game froze and crashed and when we went to open it back up we had to start from the beginning. Very upsetting. We had to remove 2 stars because it is still an amazing game but there should be some type of save feature. We have to start all over now.

This is a great, immersive story. Unfortunately we cant finish it. For a while we were stuck on Friday, kept getting stuck on a white screen (and eventual crash), similar to what others described. Eventually that resolved. Now, Im right at the end (I think) and the app crashes every time. Infuriating. 3 stars because of the really cool design and inclusive cast of characters.

The game was visually beautiful with very low-effort tasks to complete so gameplay tended to be relaxing minus a few creepy graphics. Our only issue with the game is how little content there was. There are only about 10-15 photography tasks which require you to post on an instagram-like page and chat with certain people. You could easily complete these tasks within a few hours so not the best game to spend money on if youre looking for a game to revisit for more than a week.

The trailer is pretty misleading. This is not a 3D game, there is no movement either. Each level you stand totally still and look around from that stationary point to take pictures. You cant explore anything. Its not an AR game, it just has motion controls.

The scenes are gorgeous on the iPad Pro but thats all that we find interesting. No landscape mode and backwards controls makes this cumbersome to ‘navigate’. Mostly its basic hidden object followed by chatting. The story is in the posts and unfolds gradually with a lot of reading and clicking ‘post’. Im through Tuesday in about 30 min. It doesnt require much thinking but is cute for young people trying to find themselves.

This game has beautiful graphics and its fun to play, but the game crashes a lot! Every time the game crashes, Im forced to start over and its so frustrating! We noticed other reviewers mentioning the crashing issue and so far, it hasnt been updated for nearly 2 months! Please fix the crashing issue (and other bugs in the game) so we can enjoy it and Ill up the star rating. Otherwise, Ill be forced to delete this overpriced, bug-riddled game!

Have tried numerous times to finish the game & it stops working completely!!! Reinstalled and had to start from the beginning! The game wasnt that good to begin with! Dont waste your time OR money!!!

The story of this game is told through posting pictures on social media, and reading responses. While this is a fun idea in concept, it turns tedious very quickly and makes the story feel exhausting. The asthetic has some serious high points that look amazing, but outside of those points things just look washed out and oversaturated to the point that it is exhausting to look at. The mix of the two makes for a a game that starts to feel like a chore after 30 minutes of playing. The story is slow and doesnt give a good reason in the first few hours of play to make the endless slog worth it.

This is not a game, watching someone chat on the internet. Stupid!

Constant crashes occur AFTER youve complete d an entire scene, over and over. And of course, youre returned back to the beginning EVERY SINGLE TIME. Tried everything, finally deleted and reinstalled, and lo and behold, EVERYTHING WAS GONE. Thanks for wasting many hours for us. Looks like it could have been an interesting game…. If it ever worked.

We’ve disabled sounds and extra movement. It constantly crashes on Thursday when Carmen goes to the pool for the second time. We take all the pictures, and instead of it switching to the next scene we just get a completely white screen.

Was really enjoy both the story and the aesthetics, but now, right at the end, it is broken to the point of unplayability. Upon completing a segment, it hitches up and crashes out to a flat white screen. Only way to fix it is to stop the application, restart, and redo everything you just did, which pretty complete robs this game of any charm. Managed to get it to let us through the first level that did this, but now Im stuck at a point where we’ve replayed the same segment 6 times with the same issue every time.

We wish we could give the developers of this game a big hug. These are the kinds of games that the iOS AppStore needs. Premium Games that have their heart and soul in them. Games that truly capture the essence of the platform they were built for. Holovista is innovative and makes us crave for more, even while Im playing it. Without spoiling this masterpiece, Holovista is a mobile adventure game with modern, 3D, futuristic art at its core. The game is an actual story told through Instagram posts. The living breathing world of these characters is beautiful and we find myself lost in the universe of this world. Thank you, developers for making this game and breathing life back into the iOS App Store. Thank you for making this a premium game and NOT some freemium cash grab. Thank you for making this experience and really capturing our heart and mind. We love holovista and we cant wait to finish it.

We put our hands on about 400 games a year, and simply have not played anything like this. Thanks to brilliant interface design and top shelf writing, Im transported into the mind of characters worth knowing. Its not just the best mobile game that we’ve played this year, its one Ill be thinking about for years.

We rarely write reviews but we just finished and we loved this game so much! It was a wonderful story and a really cool concept for a game that we have seen before. It was aesthetic and spooky and heartwarming, quite the journey. Thank you for making this game!

This game is visually stunning, which you can a glimpse of from the preview, but is immersive and beautiful in a vivid way, almost psychedelic in terms of imagery and colors. The music and storyline add to the complexity and building tension throughout, and though at times its feels voyeuristic to be so close to someones thoughts and life history, its super engrossing. Definitely a new style of game for us, and had cathartic twists and turns, dealing with real life and believable events. Definitely in the psychological thriller category.

After taking three photos the programs quits. Time after time after time.
