It's fun playing it; got cool graphics and sounds; the idea is different. We can only complain about the level difficult. It seem like it's a bit challenging to solve them and get 3 stars even on the first levels. But above that, it's still worth play every once in a while.
This is another great game from donut games. We laugh every time we finish a level, we imagine being on the set with a French movie director that is genuine pleased with every take. In addition, each of the "enemies" become supporters of a job well done at the end as your fellow actors. It makes us laugh just thinking about it… Though we can understand why some people might not like it if they're expecting something like Mario brothers, but its a cool idea that goes outside the box for a game style we've never seen before. Two thumbs up.
This game is an awesome PUZZLE game which some people don't realize. It's complex but intuitive and addicting. Anyone who thinks it's boring or dumb has an IQ less than 80; go play your normal mindless games or watch Honey Boo Boo since your brain cannot process "thinking" games like this.
Very fun game till we got to level 68 push it ! We can't not beat it ! So if some one nos tell us lol.
Why would you call this game jailhouse jack?It has almost nothing to do with a jailhouse. You would expect something cool like we don't know SOMETHING TO DO WITH PRISON! The game is about an actor who has to replicate escaping jail. We've never played a good game from donut games and we don't expect to. Lazy, boring, and a waste of money.
We bought this game thinking that you can move around but no it's this game where you have to move perc like boxes to make him jump or climb Stairs. If you are reading this review don't by this game.

Help Jailhouse Jack and his friends get out of jail by collecting keys, and avoiding guards, dogs, explosions and killer electric fences. Earn extra points by picking up coins along the way and by finishing (getting the last key) quickly. Jack collects the keys. Keys can unlock friends from their jail cells (or sometimes guards from rooms so watch out!) and when you've collected them all you're all free and the level is completed. Among your friends there's a stong guy who can push crates, a hacker who can disable the electric fences and a locksmith/explosives specialist who can open safes and blow up crates. What makes this game special are two things. First, the way you control the action is by placing square icons in the path of the inmates to make them jump, climb at the next ladder, change direction, and so on. Some can only be used by certain characters such as a stick of dynamite for the explosives guy or a fist for the strong guy which lets him win a fight with a guard. You only get to use each icon once so you have to use them wisely. They can be placed ahead of time making this more a game of strategy than of quick reflexes. Second, you get to "rewind" at any time with no penalty. In fact the game is presented as a "movie" with French director and all. At the bottom of the screen is what looks like a standard movie app control with a pause/play button and timeline that let you stop or go back at any moment. At the end of the level when either Jack dies or he has collected all the keys everybody, dead or alive, gets up and claps. So ultimately, no one really dies and you always get another chance, making this game very "family friendly". Once you have played a level you never have to start from scratch. Just press the "start" button at the bottom and you can review the game you just played (or you can choose to replay your "best scene" instead) and make minor changes to get an "improved take". This game is great for those who loved the action of the 1980s video arcade but who no longer have the patience or reflexes necessary to get a good score. This game-as-movie concept is a stroke of genius, giving you as much action as ever but shifting the skill from quick reflexes to problem solving ability. The graphics are beautifully pixellated in glorious 8-bit color and sound. Even the hacker character programs in 6502 assembly language. Basically a perfect game for a 40something dad and his five year old son.

People saying "you don't do anything" are underachievers. You play this game by watching the player move. At any time you can rearrange and place icons to direct your character to perform certain actions. Reaching 3 stars on each level is tough and takes strategy. It's a great game if you like puzzles.
Genius gameplay. Unique. Puzzling. Thanks alot. Anyone who complains about not knowing how to play is just slow in the head. They dont know how to read apparently.. Bcuz of this they have to try to bring everything down with them.. How sad.
We never thought we would enjoy this game that much when we first downloaded it. We ended up spending so much time with it and could not put down our device at all. Very nice game after all.

We felt the theme and game play was odd when we first tried it. However, it is growing on us and now we found that the design is actually pretty brilliant. We are now addictive to it but one drawback we have to point out. We cannot pick up and continue our last level on any iOS device. We really need iCloud data sync for all Donut games. ICloud data sync, iCloud data sync, iCloud data sync… Please.
It's different but is a great puzzle game. Makes you have multiple attempts in one life! Fun.

Ignore those that say that you don't do anything in this game. They probably didn't play more than a few levels, which are training levels. This is more of a puzzle game than an arcade style action game. Very addicting.
