Community Insight:
This app is a fun little addition to the already fun and well designed games. Our wife and we enjoy listening to the narration and the atmospheric score that goes with the timer is cool, even if we usually end up muting it out of deference to ADHD. We really wish the app remembered which games we had played. Nothing worse than seeing an EXIT game and being unable to remember whether you had played it before. More than once weve sat down to play a new EXIT game we found only to realize we had played it six years ago.
Im not usually a fan of helper apps for physical games, but this was nice and simple for the game we got, and we LOVED that there was no mandatory account creation.
We really enjoy the EXIT games and the timer and music really adds an extra element to the game. The only thing we can think of that would make it even better is if we could store our scores and use it as a way of tracking which ones we have played and when.
We think the app is convenient but if there could eventually be an option to track the games you played along with the score.
We used this while playing the Mysterious Museum and it worked great! We love the background music as well as how it grades how many stars you get! The instructions were clear and well written. We will definitely be using this again.
Ive done so many Exit games, and we always use the app to read out the introduction as well as help keep time for our team. We also love the ambience sounds and music it provides! Our only complaint (which isnt even with the app) is that we wish there was a way to tell us which Exit games to do in what order, since many of the continue off previous ones; We just bought them randomly and are only now seeing cool connections back to other stories from the other games! Thank you Kosmos for the INCREDIBLE puzzles you guys put in every single box! Its given us hours and hours of fun.
Weve played several EXIT games as a family and enjoy each one. Our goal is camaraderie to the end. Clues help us move along the game and finish on friendly terms.
The Kosmos app is easy to use and functional. Having the app in addition to the game is a nice touch. We appreciate how the games can be switched between English and German. We often use two devices next to each other which makes it fun and still instructional for the kids, practicing their language skills.
We bought this game and did the qr and we had a ball! Some cards we learned without the help of our talking monsters via the Kosmos app. We played one round of 6 cards and jumped to a new activity. Our 5 year old felt very accomplished! And it was fun to do together.
We started playing these exit games about a year ago. We just recently discovered it had an app. And we just played it with the app timing us and we were very pleased with the fact that it kept time and caps score.
Everything worked great. We had a blast.
We love playing Exit the game and have done several. The app adds great ambience! However there is a glaring issue. Once we finish the game and get our score, we get a page with three options: Share, Back, and the Home button. There is no way to save our data and score with these options. We can share it (data is not saved), go back and select how many hints we used (data is not saved) or hit the home button in which a screen pops up saying that we wont be able to save our data if we continue and leave the game. We can choose to go back to the previous screen with the options that get us nowhere. Hmmm. This is a big issue if we want to save our scores in the app along with the games we have already played. Is there anyway we can save our scores.
The instruction booklet in our Cascadia game says the directions can be found on the app but we didnt see the game listed.
The ap is perfectly made to help instruct players to set up the "game boards" and keep track for you. We play their Exit Games a lot with our friends, and it has been a wonderful assist with very clear instructions for even newcomers.
The app walks a group of players through game play in a simple with excellent instructions format. We found it was excellent after we had read through the instruction book and played a couple of rounds of the game before hand. Helped to answer a few questions that came up during our initial game play. Excellent resource and a explanation.
It has tutorials,mini games (though we couldnt get the middle shield to work in the second mini game). We also use the our games section to keep track of which games we have.
Havent used everything on the app yet, but the accompanying soundtrack is enjoyable, and we havent had any issues as of yet.
It would be cool to have an option for the timer to go without the built in soundtrack, that way we could play our own music from our phone as we play the game, but still, the built in soundtrack was okay and added to the ambiance.
UPDATE DECEMBER 7th, 2022: we turned our phone off and then turned it back on again. Went back into the App Store and was able to successfully download the most recent update for this app. Here on December 7th, 2022, the latest App Store update for this app doesnt install. It just hangs and wont install. When we click the square button inside the circle to stop it, that doesnt do anything either. Not sure whats going on, but the update is not installing or working correctly at all.
We really like these games and we use the timer. We think the app really adds to the ambiance. We like that the app calculates your score for you. If only it would save the scores for each game. How hard would it be to have the app save the game scores? Just use space in the phone memory if you dont want to store it for us.
We are new to this company. Ive never solved a game like this. Nowhere in the instruction booklet, or in the tutorial, are there directions about how to begin the game. They tell you to start but not how to start. A complete waste of money.
After pressing the play button for the intro video, nothing happened. We could press pause, but nothing ever started playing. The timer did start. The mini games wereuninteresting. We were hoping for something that would be like anything Ive experienced in an EXIT game. Nope. Perhaps it will work for other versions of other games. Weve done almost all the EXIT games save two or three, but this was the first time wi through the atmospheric soundtrack would be nice. That wasnt even offered for this game version Disappointing product from a company whose EXIT games have made our pandemic experience much more enjoyable due to the challenging fun for the whole family.
We tried to download Monochrome Inc and it just freezes. Cant use it for game which is frustrating.
These games are our favorite. We have done a few and have more purchased waiting to be played. The app is just kinda ok though. We enjoy the timer and ambient music however, it feels like theres more that could be done with the app to make it more interactive (be able to click on next page perhaps for slightly different music or effects. Heck we would probably pay a small app fee for it. Would be fun to see it expanded.
We would love if the app would save our score and had the statement on the back of the direction pamphlet to fill out in the app.

This app is optional but fantastic for playing the games. Explains game setup and narration (like a dungeon master).
Unfortunately, our pack was missing Riddle Card U and half of card T so we had to cheat at the end to solve the last riddle. Kind of a let down after investing 90 minutes into a game we couldnt finish without looking up the solution.
Ive tried to use this twice for the. Crew Mission Deep Sea. After downloading content the links to tutorial and music disappear and cant select anything. We tried again and same thing happened. Weird. Updated: after reading another comment/fix from the developer, we closed a lot of apps and reloaded the content and it plays now. So other glitchy than memory management(?) issues it seems to be a nicely produced overview of the game. Ive revised our rating.
We love the EXIT games and Ive done almost all of them by now and we always use this app while we play to enhance the experience and we do really like that part. What we dont understand is why the app doesnt save your data so you can go back and see how many stars/how long it took/how many clue cards you used. Or maybe even a little note section where you can jot your thoughts after the game. Just seems like a big missed opportunity.
Good enough app, it annoying thats its locked in widescreen. Typing to search for games on a horizontal keyboard is tough.
We really like the Kosmos helper app, especially for EXIT: The Game! It is such a useful tool.
We used the QR code on the MyCity game instructions to download this app yet no amount of scrolling or searching shows MyCity as one of the games it supports.
Downloads content but there are no features for the game.
We played this game and it was a lot of fun! Just like being in an escape room. Very cool activity to do during these crazy times.
Had an awesome Christmas game of the abandoned cabin, the in-laws loved it and this app with the music and timer made for a fun atmosphere. We think the timer helped keep everyone focused :) Great game, looking forward to the next one.
We got it for our birthday present. Great fun with family! The soundtrack was great and the room was fun and challenging. Lovely, energetic and exciting thing to do. Would totally do it again.
Loads very slow. Audio was unintuitive.
This app is one of the worst Ive come across. Our wife and we are trying to load it on an iPad and Tab to play exit. We have >100 MB WiFi and it takes 10s of minutes to download content. (Even just the menu of games.) Dont bother -Im just going to delete this and play the board game without it. We like K&T games and toys, but this software architecture is a disaster.
We downloaded the content but the the icons never appeared. We fumble around but could not get it to work, it wasnt until we downloaded it on a android that we even saw the icons the apple version needs some help.
Would recommend easy to play kosmos escape games with this app.
We own several copies of The Crew and it appears they removed to logbook from this app.
Fun app not needed to play but ads background music and provides a timer and gives you a rating after playing. Love these types of games.
Love these games and love the soundtrack on the app, but would love it even more if you could save your data for the exit games youve played.
We love these types of games and in fact that this is free makes it more fun. Yes you have to pay for the game but Im really happy that you dont have to pay for this.
UPDATE: PROBLEM FIXED!!! We downloaded the app today to use the music while our family played. And for some reason after it says it has downloaded, the features do not appear! The app just says there are no features! We were really looking forward to having the ambience.
We absolutely loved it!! So much fun.
Used this for the Exit escape games. We love that it isnt a requirement for the games but just adds some nice sound affects and the timer. We did see some people said the sound doesnt work for them. The phone cannot be on silent or the music doesnt play. The only thing we would like to add to the app is storing your time and stars so you can go back in the app and see how well you did.
This app tells you everything you need for the game you are playing.With the built in timer it is lot easier to keep track of the game.
Its a nice companion to playing the game, but it would have been awesome to have the ability to read the booklet on the app as well.
