What Makes Kryss – The Battle of Words Stand Out
Kryss is the new, highly addictive game that lets two players test each other's imagination and vocabulary.
The turn-based game is developed from the idea of transforming the traditional crossword solution – oldschool Scandinavian style – into a game where you compete against each other in the same crossword puzzle.
You receive five letters each turn, then strive to place the letters in the crossword within a minute. There are several ways of outscoring your opponent, including a significant bonuses for completing words, for getting key letters right or for using all your five letters within a round.
Then again: it might just pay off to keep one of the crucial letters for later use – when the stakes are higher.
Kryss has the element of randomly awarded letters in common with a classic game like Scrabble and other word games.

Recently Ive started getting pop-up ads DURING a game and it covers most of the board. And stays around for 15 seconds. Game time doesnt pause and continues to tick away, wasting our game time and causing us to get a lower score. We dont like this at all. Please fix it.

This is a fun game but Ive lost so many rounds because of the One Click Survey ads that pop up ON TOP OF YHE GAMEBOARD!!! Please fix this issue quickly.
Its been a great game to keep our brain engaged and thinking while also having friendly competition between family members and ourselves. With that being said the pop up adds are covering our boards a lot of the time anymore, sometimes 2-3 in a row and using up all our time before we can play our turn. Its very frustrating making us think of switching word games to another app.
Fun but often frustrating game. Playing time should be at least 60 seconds if not 90 seconds. Not enough time to even scan a new playing board sometimes before you can compare available letters to new board. Also, not fun to know a word but not have letters available.
You need to come out with new boards these ones are getting old.
Ive been playing this game for a while and really enjoy it. For the last week or so it has started to freeze and crash during play. Please fix these bugs.
We use to enjoy the game. But now Im thinking of deleting it, because of all the pop-up ads in the middle of you playing, especially when you have 60 seconds per round. Why would they do that.
We love the game but its too hard to play it because it so many ads.
Enjoyed playing the game. Its getting incredibly hard to play now that the new ads system ads will take up half the screen and theres no way to clear them or play on half the board so your turns will time out.
Ive had the game for years and really enjoy it. Ive always been fine with the ads because thats how they get compensated. However, recently, there have been random pop-up ads that appear in the middle of a timed game that cover more than half of the screen (not an interrupted video ad but one that covered the board in real-time). We even considered paying for the $15/month subscription even though thats steep for a game thats not played frequently. Still, the way these particular ads pop up make us question the companys priorities.
Please fix the pop up ads that come up while in your puzzle board. You can see the board and time is still running, cant even click out of it. Really annoying.
We have played this for a year or so, everyday. Now, we cant even get through one puzzle without ads. Had 4 of them us just one puzzle. We guess its time to find a new game.
We love playing this game but you need boards to play and they want you to pay for them. Should at least get x amount of free boards a day.
The app freezes in the middle of the game. We have to restart our iPad to get it going. Over and over and over. Only game that does that.
Ive been a daily player since the game first started. But here the last week or so, its been too glitchy to even play. It shows us defaulting on games because it isnt showing us its our turn, and because of that, its dropped our score from like 1700+ down to 1500+ and we are not happy about it. Especially since we pay for a monthly membership and all that as well. Or when it does let us play our turn, it shows as our opponents turn, but notifications will tell us its our turn, and then when we do open the game, it might show 0 minutes, and then every time we play our turn, it doesnt stick. And we have to keep playing the same turn.
We saw this on an AD & we literally have to play everyday . We love this GAME! We wish it worked without WiFi whenever we dont have service. But its a no regretter. Youll love it. We dont even leave reviews on games we play from the App Store.
One suggestion. Not everyone playing has perfect vision. White on light blue for example, is hard to see. Could there be contrast.
This crossword game is challenging and exciting! The hints keep you guessing along with deciding how the letters work together. The game sometimes freezes during the Quick Play setting, which can be frustrating, so we would advise playing the game at the regular, slower pace.
We keep watching the ads but it still does not allow us to play. We watch the ads til the end.please fix this since we cant afford to subscribe.
We love this game but.we can no longer watch ads for free game boards or buy new game boards.
The new update wont let us purchase power-ups with either real money or game coins. Also, the free daily game boards are gone. No option to watch five ads and get five free game boards.
Fun game. Scoring is innacurate. Its annoying. Also, you have to watch videos to play games. Corny.

The ads are entirely too long! Its like they freeze up and will not return to your game. Its like they are trying to force you to download, ridiculous.

Our husband and we play this game with each other everyday. We are constantly in a Kryss Battle, the gold crown goes back and forth! We help each other figure out the words too, as some are difficult, if not a little crazy. What we would really like, is for you to add the number of Double Ups for each player in the End of Games Statistics. It would end some arguments. Well, you got all the Double Ups! We did not. You got 1. No, we didnt.
We enjoy playing the game however it is very frustrating when the ads replace the time you get to view the screen. We dont like that you have to buy the ad free version in order to do what you should be able to do.
We are enjoying the game, but we wish there was a one time fee option. It is annoying how few games you get on the free version. But, $14.99/month is too expensive.

Really disappointed because we love the game but it has way too many bugs. The game often tells us it is our turn yet it doesnt give us any letters to play with, so our time runs out without any chance to play. This often happens several turns in a row. Too bad because we really would like the game otherwise.

We were very upset with one of the clues that stated, CRIMINAL and the answer was ILLEGALS. We dont think we should all be lumped together as we dont all share the voice of our oppressors. Illegals are not criminals.
A previous review detailed the frequent crashes, and MANY ads. Sometimes the ads take away some of the time one is supposed to have to study the puzzle after playing your letters. There is no way to contact KRYSS if problems occur that are not covered by the FAQs.
Lately the fast forward option doesnt add all of your points. Otherwise, great fun game.
Some adds lock up game.sometimes have to restart to get to it.
We like the game a lot but there are a few things that need fixing. A few years ago you moved the end turn button down to the bottom where it is easy to tap by accident. We do that at least once a week. Move it back up to the top. It has gotten very expensive to remove ads. Last year we paid $50 and got a pink diamond and no ads. This year thats gone. If you want to get rid of ads it is over $100. Last years for our $50 we also got a bunch of games. We dont remember how many. This year for $100 we also get unlimited play, but we dont need it. We still have lots of games. Drop the price for the no ads.
We are always getting notifications throughout the day and when we go to the app, no one has played. Also, the volume goes out a lot, we like to hear the clock.
We love the game but the ads are way too long & always the same ads over again. Its gets so annoying but the cost of removing the ads is outrageous.
We love the game and am constantly playing, however, the ads come very frequently and the subscription cost to remove ads and have unlimited games is incredibly expensive (nearly $20 per month or over $100 for the year). The ads cause a lot of frustration, but we cant justify the high subscription cost.
We love Kryss but what we hate (loathe) the most is when if we loss people will get up to 30 pts from a person with a high score but when we win we may get 1 pt. Sometimes zero. We fill there should be a cap.
Just needs a few more ways to speed up the game. Mostly less ads, but we realize you are getting something for the time you spend watching advertisements.
Game is amazing it just gets annoying having to keep getting game boards. It basically costs to play the game if u run out of boards.

Like other games, there are commercials everywhere. Im not looking to overspend to play either.
We love playing Kryss but Im getting really irritated with trying to connect it to our Facebook account. On Facebook it shows the app is linked but in the app it says theres an error. Ive tried multiple times. We even tried removing it on our Facebook account so that we could attempt to sign in again and ran into the same issue. It also kept bringing us back to our settings when we clicked the contact us button on the website and would give us no way to actually reach out to anyone. Other than that, we have no complaints so far.
Once again, the game is experiencing repeating boards. Moves/turns one has already made. Completed games that are mysteriously back in play. Kryss has become too similar to a toxic relationship. Promises broken. Bad behavior. Nothing really changes. We think it may be time to end the games, delete, and walk away.
